Many people don't come to grips with the reality of the astronomical cost of legal counsel in America until they find themselves involved in a lawsuit, get an unfair traffic ticket, or need to resolve a complex family issue.
The reality is that you stand a very great chance of becoming involved in a legal dispute or lawsuit at least once in your life. The financial implications of these situations are huge sometimes resulting in financial hardship, the loss of a home, marital strife, or damage to reputation.
What if you had a way to inexpensively enlist the services of a top-notch attorney whenever the need arose, to assist you with everything from basic legal documents to criminal cases?
Larry Smith is a veteran entrepreneur and business leader who has discovered just that. Larry's personal trials and challenges led him to join a company that provides top quality legal assistance to ordinary Americans for a price they can afford. Larry thinks access to a good lawyer shouldn't have to be a special privilege of the wealthy and powerful and he'll discuss a way you can have good legal access for a fraction of the price.
Attorney Fred Kray and the PBLNR crew welcome Johanna Falber from Stubby's Heroes to discuss community outreach and what it takes for a group to effectively increase their visibility to help support pet owners. Regular show episodes include:

This show is about us discussing hot topics and how they relate to the law.
Continuing from last week, the hosts conclude their two part series on the controversial topic of mercy killings. Tonight the hosts ask “sometimes isn’t a cigar just a cigar?” when they look at the case of Barbara Mancini. Ms. Mancini, 57, of Philadelphia, was charged last summer with giving a nearly full bottle of morphine to her father, Joseph Yourshaw, at his Pottsville home in February 2013 for the purpose of helping him end his life. Yourshaw died at a hospital four days later after a hospice nurse called 911. The judge said that prosecutors had neither established that Yourshaw intended to take his own life, nor that Mancini helped him do it. Join Bennet and Sarah as they conclude their series on so-called “mercy killings” and how they relate to the law.

On the December 17, 2014 episode of Liberal Dan Radio:
Freedom has taken several hits this week. A Supreme Court ruling, Heien v North Carolina, has ruled that a search conducted after a police officer misapplies the law is a legal search. This, however, was not the case in Arizona V. Gant. I will discuss both cases and why I believe this is an elimination of freedom.
Sony pictures caved today and is refusing to release the movie after a group threatened to attack movie theaters that showed the movie. Several chains had already said that they would not be showing the movie previous to this anouncement. I will give my thoughts on this as well.
In other news, the GOP has shown their hypocrisy yet again. I will discuss how and why as well.
Those issues and more on Wednesday at 8pm central on Liberal Dan Radio, Talk From The Left, That's Right.
I have made a change with my crowdfunding attempts and this year I am going with gofundme. Please check it out.

Tonight's special guest is Kimberly Mackanic, MSW, LCSW, a councilor at SAFE in Hunterdon in Flemington, New Jersey, since July 2011. Their mission is to empower adult and child survivors of domestic and sexual abuse, while collaborating with the community to prevent violence and create positive social change. They have a 24-hour hotline and provide safe and transitional housing, legal advocacy, crisis intervention, individual and group counseling, community education and PALS, and a unique children’s arts therapy program. SAFE in Hunterdon delivers critical support services to the many families that have experienced violence in their lives. In her role, Kimberly provides individual and group counseling services for victims and survivors of domestic violence and sexual abuse in the community, as well as to survivors of abuse who are incarcerated at the Edna Mahan Correctional Facility for Women (where an estimated 85% of the population are survivors of abuse). She is also a facilitator for the agency's 80-hour Volunteer Training program. Kimberly entered the field after completing her Master's in Social Work at Rutgers University, with an area of emphasis in Violence Against Women & Children, and completed her clinical license in 2014. Additionally, she has discussed her work with incarcerated survivors on panel discussions at V-day Flemington ("What I Want My Words to do to You") in 2014 and at Rutgers University Law School ("Crime After Crime: Debbie's Law") in 2012. Kimberly has also been an advocate for survivors of sexual violence via performances in nine productions of The Vagina Monologues throughout NJ since 2006.
Employers are not the only ones demanding social media passwords – schools are doing so too. There has been lots of media attention about this – resulting in a surge of legislative activity on the issue. In Illinois, a new law went into effect this year allowing school officials to have access to passwords to students’ social media accounts in certain situations. The concern, of course, is how this impacts a student’s right to privacy under the Constitution and state laws. This podcast with Kelly Anderson will explore the new law and how it could affect your children.
