Lugnuts and Horsepower: Cinco de Mayo Edition

    in Sports

Well there may not be any sombreros or cerapes worn, least not according to the hosts, but Dustin Parks and Patti Rodisch appropriately are partying on this episode.  Talladega turned into a big party, especially with who went to victory lane.  Junior Nation is celebrating as the No. 88 is locked into the 2015 Chase with his victory at the big track.  Although the race was marred by one big wreck, it was also marred with timid drivers, and the lack of taking the chance to make a move late.

Did this hurt the race?  Or is this how the current rules dictate racing to be?  These two will discuss the pros and cons of what was seen on Sunday.

They will also look ahead to Kansas as both Michael Waltrip Racing and Joe Gibbs Racing welcome new drivers, albeit in substitute roles, to their teams.  Erik Jones takes over the No. 18 while Kyle Busch continues to recover from broken bones, while David Ragan moves from that car into the No. 55 for the remainder of the season.  It's their debuts for each team, so what are their expectations?

Finally, the kids get to have fun as this race is sponsored by Nickelodeon.  Not only will they discuss picks, but how the new sponsor could bring in very young fans.  Tune in at 6:30 p.m. ET/5:30 p.m. CT for all the fun.

    Principles of creativity: Pluralism

    in Writing

One of the principles that guides my own writing is pluralism.  The idea of building something large enough that it has its own natural diversity and not pinning everything on one character or idea that needs to connect with everyone.

I'll be exploring good examples of this as well as talk over the principles that serve as a foundation to this.

Can You Handle The Truth? A Disease People :

    in Religion

John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Disease - A disorder or incorrectly functioning organ, part, structure of system of the body resulting from the effect of genetic or developmental errors, infection, poisons, nutritional deficiency or imbalance, toxicity, or unfavorable environmental factors, illness; sickness; ailment.

In today's world, if someone is addicted to drugs or alcohol, because of their addiction, they would be diagnosed as having a disease.  This is usually descibed as a mental imbalance due to their lack of self control. Could this also be true for other things that we do that we know are wrong, unhealthy, or, most importantly, unrighteous in the eyes of GOD? But because of our lack of self control or lust, we are unable to or have a very difficult time quiting (repenting). We welcome you to join us as we examine the scriptures to address this issue, that is if you can handle the truth.

We air programs on Blog Talk Radio at the following times: Sun 2:00pm, Mon 8:00pm, Tue 8:00pm, Wed 7:00pm, Thur 8:00pm, Fri 7:00pm & Sat 9:00am.  All times are Eastern Standard Time.

Robin M. Boylorn, Ph.D., ?earned her doctorate in 2009 from University of South Florida.  Currently she is Assistant Professor of Interpersonal and Intercultural Communication at the University of Alabama where she teaches and writes about issues of social identity and diversity, focusing primarily on the lived experiences of black women. Boylorn's work concentrates on ways of documenting marginalized lives and making them accessible and available to wide audiences.  She seeks to give voice to silenced experiences and offer strategies for talking about and across difference (in its many manifestations).
