Your Labor is not In Vain

    in Religion

Pastor Brad Morgan of New Life Beginnings Church in Pattison, TX begins speaking from 1 Corianthians 15:58 where it says, "Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord." God wants you to know that your labor is not in vain. If you are doing what God has called you to do, your labor is not in vain. God is the one that keeps the books, God is the one that sees what we do.  There will be an open reward from God. Hebrews 11:6 says, "But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him."

God has deposited something into you. With the fresh annointing that is coming, there is going to come an encouraging from the Holy Spirit to guide our lives. Romans 8:14 says, "For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God." We want to be led by the Holy Spirit.

Pastor Brad concludes his teaching speaking of the abundance of rain to come and it's significance. Teaching from 1 Kings 18, beginning in verse 20.

Big Labor Conundrum! & Joe's Crazy News Stories

    in Politics

In the 1st hour, David Bego joins Joe to how over the past four decades, Big Labor has continued to see its membership shrink drastically as its leaders use the same failed tactics involving forced unionism. The argument that most workers are better off without unions today is supported by the facts.

In the 2nd hour, David Bego wraps up the union argument. Then Joe covers those stories we all love to hear that are so hard to believe. Tune in!

Have you had your healthy dose of reality lately?

There are always at least two sides to every story. Have you ever wondered how someone, who saw the same thing you did, walked away telling a vastly different story? Which version was correct? Which one was the REAL story? Actually, both are! It’s just a matter of perspective.

Joe takes the issues… especially the controversial issues (politics, prejudice, religion, illegal immigration)… and brings in people from different sides to share their viewpoint. This is definitely not a fluff piece. And while no one is attacked, the questions are hard-hitting.

Politics Done Right on KPFT - Middle-class needs strikes, labor unions & you

    in Politics Progressive

Last week I went to a function at the Harris County Democratic Party. A young speaker at the event spent about half a hour talking about the United Steelworkers Union strike against  11 refineries including Royal Dutch Shell and LyondellBasell in the Houston Area.

I read a lot of news. Why is this news not widely out there. At a time when we are constantly talking about income inequality and wealth disparity one would think it would be covered. At a time when labor unions are in decline, how is it not news?

WHO'S TO BLAME: RESPECT MY LABOR

    in Politics

Issue: Corporations, job creators and even some workers do not respect our labor.  Who's to Blame?

Though both corporate productivity and corporate profits climb, workers' wages remain stagnant. CEO's continue to see big payouts, even during economic downturn.  Corporations are being accused of wage theft.  America can't even get our legislators to respect our labor through increasing the minimum wage.

However, without the productivity of the worker you don't have profits.   Why don't workers get paid more for their productivity?  Laborers, they get no respect.

Is the government to Blame for not raising the minimum wage?

Would a $2.00 wage increase kill business and force them into layoffs?

Do you feel that a worker's productivity is not always worth a certain wage?

Do workers even know what their labor is worth?

Explain what Labor Day means to you...

    in Politics

Back in the day, over 100 years ago, the average worker had no rights whatsoever! In some cases, a 60-72 hour a week job was commonplace. There were no Child Labor Laws. A man of 40 years of age could be working next to a child of 10 years of age. Many children barely completed six years of school. We at The Coffee Club would like to know what your views are...In today's society, what does Labor Day mean to you??? Call us at 646-595-3275; the coffee is optional.
