The Don S. McClure Show Black History Awards Day 1998 - 2009

    in Lifestyle

The Don S. McClure Show Black History Awards Day Celebration 1998 - 2009 Black History Awards Day,

A concept given birth by admiration and respect. A concept that was inspired by those who came before me and left an indelible mark upon my mind. The very idea started after reading a few quotes by Carter G. Woodson and others like him.

Charles Chestnut, considered to be the first African American published fictional writer. One of the best known and most widely read of early African American writers, Charles W. Chesnutt published more than fifty short stories, six novels, two plays, a biography of Frederick Douglass, and countless essays, poems, letters, journals, and speeches. Though he had light skin and was of mixed race, Chesnutt self-identified as a black man, and his writing was often boldly political, openly addressing problems of racial identity and injustice in the late 19th century. and Arturo Alfonso Schomburg (January 24, 1874 – June 8, 1938), was a Puerto Rican historian, writer, and activist in the United States who researched and raised awareness of the great contributions that Afro-Latin Americans and Afro-Americans have made to society. He was an important intellectual figure in the Harlem Renaissance.

Their work took me on a journey to create something special and something that would offer just as much honor and respect for our achievements. Their efforts guided me to produce.

Black History Awards Day born from The 28 Days of February project. In Memphis Tennessee. in 1998. reaching 36 States through proclamations, signed by 36 governors in the US and the Governor of Puerto Rico.

Credo Mutwa, South African Zulu Shaman, His words of wisdom, Future Prophesies

    in Self Help

     http://www.newdawnmagazine.com/articles/credo-mutwa-the-alien-agenda-ufos-alien-abduction-in-the-eyes-of-a-zulu-shaman

    By LOUIS PROUD—

The Zulu sangoma (a shaman or healer) and high sanusi (clairvoyant and lore-master) Vusamazulu Credo Mutwa is recognised by many as one of the most distinguished African traditional healers around today. He is, in fact, the spiritual leader of the sanusis and sangomas of South Africa.

As well as being a successful artist, author and historian, Mutwa is also an outspoken victim of alien abduction, having allegedly been in contact by entities his people call the mantindane (‘the tormentors’), which are similar in nature to what we in the English speaking world call ‘the grays’. Stories of UFOs and alien beings make up a big part of African tribal culture, he says.

    Awakener of the Zulus

Mutwa was born on July 21, 1921 in the South African province of Natal. The name Vusamazulu means ‘awakener of the Zulus’, and was appointed to Mutwa during his initiation as a sangoma. Mutwa means ‘little bush man’, and Credo means ‘I believe’. Born out of wedlock, Mutwa was considered “an illegitimate child, a child of shame.” Because his mother, who was descended from a long line of medicine men and women, refused to convert to Christianity, Mutwa’s parents separated shortly after his birth. Thus he was primarily raised by his Roman Catholic father, who frequently travelled from place to place, working as a builder.

50 Shades of... ISIS, Islam, & Homophobia

    in Politics

While Joe is busy setting up for CPAC 2015 (starts tomorrow!), you can catch up on the replay from Feb 19th here (when we had technical difficulties broadcasting).

    Thanks for tuning in!

Have you had your healthy dose of reality lately?

There are always at least two sides to every story. Have you ever wondered how someone, who saw the same thing you did, walked away telling a vastly different story? Which version was correct? Which one was the REAL story? Actually, both are! It’s just a matter of perspective.

Joe takes the issues… especially the controversial issues (politics, prejudice, religion, illegal immigration)… and brings in people from different sides to share their viewpoint. This is definitely not a fluff piece. And while no one is attacked, the questions are hard-hitting.

But the conversation is always respectful and you’re sure to learn something new, even if you don’t agree!

If you’ve always wondered how the “other side” thinks and how they’ve arrived at their “stand”, then this is the show for you!

It’s not the right side, it’s not the wrong side, but the REAL side of the issues!

Independent Everything: LIVE with Finest Music Ent. Rapper/Producer ~ Saint

    in Music

This rapper/producer with tremendous talent has taken his love and desire for music to another lyrical level. He’s like no other, the style, the name; the man himself cannot be duplicated, something spectacular to offer.

His raps are crisp and to the point, he's a monster on the stage, and in the studio his creative nature invades his music, it can't get more precise than that. His versatility is proven in the many songs in which he has produced and written. His rap style can be straight hardcore rap and then switch to a commercial, laid-back flow. So let's take it back...

Born July 17,1985 in Denver Colorado, Christopher Mitchell, now known as Saint, would grow up to find himself trying to understand the craziness of the world. “I follow my own mind and I've alway thought so deep.” And so it began, Saint put in his time blessing the mic. Saint emerged in late 2003, collaborating and performing alongside Colorado Legend BBlacc and Dankside ENT. He has carried his talent from state to state, venue to venue as he has worked hard to express his unique personality through his brand of Finest Music. Faced with many trials and tribulations in both, his personal life and music career, have molded him into the musician he is today. Saint has always had an ear for good music, rhymes and hooks. He says, “At first I didn't know I had it in me. The magic of music brought the real trueness out of me.” In time he developed his own style and writing skills. Influenced by the hard-edged beats and southern gangster-rap of No Limit Records, Saint is a rare exception in the ever changing world of Hip-Hop. In a genre where new artists come and go, plagued with gimmicks and schemes, Saint manages to remain true to himself and the music he makes. Destined to be a household name, Saint possesses the musical creativity and charisma to someday become one of the greats.
