His album Crank Calls won him a Grammy in 1995 and he's won two Emmys for his sitcom appearances.
He's Jonathan Winters and he gives voice to Papa Smurf in the new film, but he also voiced Grandpa Smurf in the 1980s TV cartoon series.
Winters has practiced comedy for over 60 years
Filmmakers Jim Pasternak, Richard Marshall, Matt Fortnow and other special guests go Onlinewithandrea to discuss Certifiably Jonathan a unique hybrid comedy/documentary that weaves in and out of the bipolar and surreal world of 85-year-old comic genius Jonathan Winters. Hosted By Andrea Garrison.
Certifiably Jonathan is about 85-year-old iconic comic genius Jonathan Winters, a gifted artist who dreams of having his paintings hang in the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. An art critic discovers him, and the Museum invites Jonathan to be part of an exhibition—a dream come true! However, disaster strikes when Jonathan thinks he has lost his sense of humor and can no longer paint. Sarah Silverman, Howie Mandel, Nora Dunn, Tim Conway, Jeffrey Tambor, and many others show up to help him get his mojo back.
Director Jim Pasternak and producer Richard Marshall talk to Mr. Media about their experiences working with Winters -- and co-star Robin Williams!

Join me Monday, September 29th at 6 p.m. Pacific/9 Eastern on Radio Enso. My guest will be Kriyaban yogi, faculty for Good Life Project, and creator of The Pause meditation program Kristoffer Carter (“kc”) of This Epic Life. KC returns to the show for a third time to talk all about the benefits of meditation; TimeBending; blowing things up/clearing space in your work and life to make room for something bigger; our experience at Camp GLP; an update on his Your 2014 Project; and much more.
About Kristoffer Carter: In 2014 I've had the honor of both leading meditation retreats in the jungles of Costa Rica, and conducting sales trainings across the country for our digital-media firm Centro. In between trips I #CRANK meticulously designed multi-media learning content, either for our company, Jonathan Fields and Good Life Project, or for my site ThisEpicLife.com in my creative production studio.
Over the last 12 months, I've produced & launched a comprehensive Sales-Onboarding program for Centro, a leading local digital buying service in the online advertising industry, as well as created and launched a company-wide meditation program called "The Pause." I was the 44th employee, and we have grown to over 520 in the last 7 years.
I am also a Kriyaban yogi (Self-Realization Fellowship) Motivator, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, & marathon runner. Father of 3. Author of "The Framework Manifesto" and facilitator for Good Life Project, created by Jonathan Fields.

Dan Brisse is a widely regarded "urban snowboarder," meaning he leaps between buildings on his board! Crazy! He has said, " "Snowboarding satisfies something in my life that nothing else really can. Maybe people see me flying over some feature or other and think I'm crazy, but I hope they know that I put a lot of thought and effort into making sure everything I do is as safe as it can be - even if I'm trying to push myself to a new level that day." Can't wait to talk to him!
En Garde!
