    in Lifestyle

Jimi Macon is a master guitarist who began his career in Cincinnati when he picked up the guitar and immediately fell in love with it.  Jimi indicated that if it wasn't for the guitar he might have gotten into real trouble because he had a lot of anger in side and the guitar allow him a channel to release.  Also, it changed his fortune in the community with other young people because his popularity skyrocketed.  His love of the guitar has now taken him around the world many times over and he has been featured on many, many hits beginning with The great Gap Band of Tulsa, Oklahoma.  His master work on the guitar has connected him with a list of who's who in the music business.  All you have to do is mention his name and people in the business will know who you're talking about and will express nothing but admiration for this great musician.

JHBLS- Jimi Hendrix- Architect of Jazz Fusion

    in Music

When you think of Jimi Hendrix, you may think about his primary field of rock, but he touched a plethorea of musical genres.  Our focus on this show will be jazz rock/ fusion.  Many rightly consider Miles Davis as the Father of Fusion.  He should be considered as such, because he took the first leap and showed everyone that fusion is a not only popular with fans, but can also make lots of money.

People credit Miles' young wife Betty as hipping him to people like Sly Stone and Jimi Hendrix, but Jimi and Miles hit it off on thier own as well.  If Miles was hip to Jimi, than he should have heard the auditory blueprint of Jimi's music going back to his first album, Are You Experienced?

Jimy Bleu from 89.1 WFDU will be on hand to talk about Jimi's connection to fusion.  Jimy can be heard every Tuesday from 1:00 - 3:45 pm on WFDU (89.1) in the tri-state area (NY, NJ, Conn.) or worldwide at: http://www.wfdu.fm
