How 4 Authors Got Published--and What Happened After That

    in Books

Award-winning novelist Jenny Milchman explores the journey to publication with four ITW Debut Authors, who share what it's been like to become a published author. Hear about the state of the industry today, boutique versus Big 5 publishers, whether or not you need an agent, and just when a writer can expect to buy that yacht. Or if they can't buy a yacht--why do writers stay in this game against such great odds? Call in with questions about writing and publication--and discover four great new reads.

After spending the first part of her career behind the mike as a disc jockey and talk show host, Kim Alexander recently made the move she’s been dreaming of her whole life, and began writing. The Sand Prince is Kim's first novel. Kim lives in Washington DC right across the street from the zoo; you can practically see the pandas from her window.

Dana Chamblee Carpenter's award-winning short fiction has appeared in The Arkansas Review, Jersey Devil Press, and Maypop. Her debut novel, Bohemian Gospel, won Killer Nashville's 2014 Claymore Award and will be published by Pegasus Books in November, 2015.

Jennifer Kincheloe is a research scientist turned writer of historical fiction. She has a PhD in Health Services from UCLA and spent 11 years conducting research to inform health policy. The Secret Life Of Anna Blanc is her first novel. She currently lives in Denver, Colorado with her husband and two children, two dogs, and a cat.

JS Law is a former Royal Navy submariner and senior nuclear engineer from Portsmouth, UK. He lives in Hampshire with his wife and two children and enjoys cycling, rugby and riding his Harley. His first novel, Tenacity, is a taut murder mystery that takes place aboard a nuclear submarine.

Nov. 10, 2015 - The Year of Big Footing with RMSO's Kelly Shaw and Team

    in Paranormal

I have been a Bigfoot enthusiast since 8 years old when my grandfather told me about his close up encounter with a family of 3 sasquatch during the 1920's in Mount St. Helens Washington. After that I started reading all the material on Bigfoot I could get my hands on. After research I realized I was living in an active sighting area. The Rocky Mountains.

Since 2007, Derek Wright "whom has had an up close personal encounter" and I discussed getting serious about this hobby of getting a sighting of this elusive creature and if the opportunity presents itself a photo or a video. We discussed how we could do as well as anyone out there in the Bigfoot community and there is no reason why we would not have the same odds as anyone else at tracking down, studying and our ultimate goal proving or documenting a sighting with photo or video.

Jenny has been researching with me for the last 4 years. She has a great eye for finding tracks and for finding other Bigfoot signs of activity, such as territorial snap offs. She is the one that found the three 17 inch foot prints on April 6th 2013.

Jenny and I have been in the field, scouting and locating documented sighting locations for 4 years now. We spend almost every weekend and most of our vacation time in the field. We spend most of our research time in Northern Utah and Southern Idaho. After 4 years of research we have narrowed down to 18 hot spots in this area that we study intensely. We also will check into areas within our range that have had recent sightings.

Last year Brody Lewis began squatching with us. He brings to the table some valuable skills. He has spent over the last 20 years prospecting within our area of research. He is very good at navigation within the thick of the forest, he is also an expert tracker and is used to looking for subtle things out of place in the woods.

  • CUTV News Radio spotlights Jenny Battig of EPIC Renewal Concepts

    in Lifestyle

Melbourne, FL – Our bodies have the ability to heal ourselves both emotionally and physically. We simply need to tap into that amazing flow of natural healing energy.

Hypnotherapy has been recognized as one of the most powerful techniques to restore healthy mind and body balance naturally. Its success is based on tapping into the power of the subconscious mind to clear away the beliefs that distract and block the normal behaviors and healthy functions of the body.

Jenny Battig is a Certified Clinical and Interpersonal Hypnotherapist, a Certified Trainer, Coach and Speaker and the founder of EPIC Renewal Concepts, Inc.

“We’re so used to going to the doctor for drugs, but there are so many possibilities to balance our mind, body and spirit,” says Battig. “I want to facilitate change for people and make sure they are aware of how much power we have within ourselves to achieve the health and happiness we desire.”

The “EPIC” in EPIC Renewal is an acronym that stands for External Peace, Internal Calm. Jenny says her true passion is to educate and inform people about more natural ways to achieve lasting health and happiness, rather than relying on pills or other short-term options that only suppress or delay our ability to reach our full potential.

“By tapping into the subconscious, there is an opportunity to shift the negative beliefs we’ve developed about ourselves so we can have a more healthy view of what we’re capable of,” says Jenny.
