To One Who Bears the Sweetest Name

And adds luster to the same.

    Long life to her

    For there's no other

    Who takes the place

    Of my dear Mother.

She is the first person we connect with from the moment we're born. Hidden inside her womb we are connected by the bond infused by her body. She is the first person we know when we enter the world. The love that exudes from her is washed over us our entire lives. From the first wail we make to the last moment of our lives. She is our Sun, our Moon, our brilliant Star. Our world.

Some of have said a mother's love is unlike anything we know. It nourishes us, sacrifices for us, and lives for us. How many countless times has your mother stayed up late watching over you? She is our first teacher, our first cheerleader, and our greatest supporter. For most of us, there is nothing our mother's wouldn't do for us.

On this episode of the Parker J Cole Show -- it's all about our mothers and God's special place for them. With me is returning guest, apologist, author, and mother Melissa Cain Travis. The Parker J Cole Show -- Polygamy: What Love Is This?

    in Radio

Is it any wonder some people have no idea of what love is?

Last weekend, the film Fifty Shades of Grey was released, heralded as a romanctic movie. To date, the movie made over 300 million dollars as people were taught that BDSM was the new rage and Hollywood, in it's limited wisdom, decided to portray it as a form of love. If that can be conisdered romantic and the man has stalker, abusive tendencies, what about the pro-polygamy ground gaining advantage? What kind of love is polygamy?

On this episode of the Parker J Cole, we have returnng guest Doris Hanson, host of the show Polygamy: What Love Is This. We continue our discussion of the harms of fundamentalist polygamy as well as the skewed perception of shows like Sister Wives and Big Love. Doris grew up in a polygamist home and has first hand experience of this lifestyle.

The Parker J Cole Show -- Not God's Type

    in Radio

I've mentioned this several times in the past on this show but I will always be thankful to the atheist I encountered about ten years ago on a lonely night near Detroit at 3 in the morning. We had a discussion about God, life, and faith to which he asked me questions I did not have answers to. He led me on a path of entering apologetics and learning to love my Lord with even greater fervor.

On this episode of the Parker J Cole show, join me as I sit down and chat with Holly Ordway, author of the book, Not God's Type: An Atheist Academic Lays Down Her Arms as she discusses her journey from believing faith was superstitious nonsense to surrending her life to Christ.

If you're a skeptic, an athiest, agnostic, seeker,  a doubting Christian or not, this show is for you. Join me by calling in at 646-595-2083, press 1 to be live on air. Or, you can download the WLUV radio mobile app today. Tune in!

The Parker J Cole Show -- God, Christians, and Secret Societies

    in Radio

It’s the stuff of conspiracy theories and spy movies. A group of individuals who wield so much power that billions of people on earth are affected by their manipulations. Secret weapons, secret oases, secret codes, and secret meetings take place to determine how to bring about their agenda to the world at large.

The individuals may consists of politicians, celebrities, or unknowns who sit quietly in the background making world events happen. From the weather to war to economic stability of continents and the world at large, these few are privileged to know what we don’t know – a secret understanding.

    Or so they say.

Groups like the Illuminati, New World Order, and who knows what else are on the tips of everyone’s tongue. Videos on YouTube and bloggers, articles and conspiracy theorists point to these types of organizations as the perpetuators of mankind’s fate. Advertising is said to bring about subliminal messages of dominance. Games online seek to stupefy from the truth. Social media a way of distracting us from what’s really going on. All of it is part of their agenda to control you, how you think, what you believe, how you act.

What’s the Christian take on this? How should we respond to secret societies? Are we merely pawns in game to be used and then cast aside?

Join me on this episode of the Parker J Cole Show as I attempt to put these kind of things into perspective. You can join in the discussion by calling 646-595-2083, press 1 to be live on air. Or, you can download the WLUV Radio mobile app. Tune in!

The Parker J Cole Show -- Love and Marriage

    in Radio

Love and marriage, love and marriage,
Go together like a horse and carriage.
This I tell ya, brother, you can't have one without the other.

Love and marriage, love and marriage,
It's an institute you can't disparage.
Ask the local gentry and they will say it's elementary.

Try, try, try to separate them, it's an illusion.
Try, try, try and you only come to this conclusion:
Love and marriage, love and marriage

We've all heard the song before, immortalized by the suave tones of Frank Sinatra. A catchy tune that either one completely agrees with or no one agrees with.

After all, we have ample proof from society that love and marriage do not go together like a horse and carriage. In fact, marriage and love seem to be at odds with each other. Divorce rates are skyrocketing, whether Christian or not, in the U. S. In fact, marriage is seen as an unnecessary thing in order for a couple to stay together. After all, surely we don't need a piece of paper to state whether we're committed or not. Monogamy doesn't have to be in the confines of marriage, does it? We all know couples who have been together for years and are committed to each other.

So maybe, love and marriage don't go together.

But, is it all just about love and marriage? Is perhaps our definition of love somewhat skewed? Is love personified in the physical intimacy between man and women?

Let's talk about it on this episode of the Parker J Cole show. You can call in at 646-595-2083, press 1 to be live on air. Or, you can download the WLUV radio mobile app today. Any way you can, tune in

The Parker J Cole Show -- Defending the Resurrection

    in Entertainment

It is one of the most singular events in history -- the Resurrection of the Lord. It would not be an exaggeration to state that EVERYTHING rests on this one thing in the Christian faith. If Jesus Christ did not rise from the dead, then He is not God. If He is not God then everything we believe falls like a giant house of cards. He would be no better than a wise man whose words and teachings we could take with a grain of salt.

Defending the resurrection is something every Christian should know how to do. After all, critics would say Jesus’ resurrection was either faked, his body stolen, or some other phenomenon to explain the empty tomb. Every year toward Easter, there's always an attack stating Jesus' did not rise from the dead. Curious theories abound as to explain away the empty tomb. Being able to refute them is essential.

With me to help us to know how to defend the resurrection is apologist Evan Minton, creator of the blog Cerebral Faith. He takes an approach that uses extra-biblical sources as well as Biblical references to defend the reliability of the Gospels record of Jesus rising from the dead.
