Why Recruiting Is A Legitimate Career Choice

    in Business

The TalentCulture #TChat Show is back live on Wednesday, July 29, 2015, from 1-2 pm ET (10-11 am PT).

Last week we talked about how HR drives positive workforce impact with the right data insights, and this week we’re going to talk about why recruiting is a legitimate career choice.

Recruiting has mostly been the accidental career choice. Professionals from varied backgrounds but with a unifying theme of marketing, sales and investigative technical savvy are the ones who’ve fallen into being recruiters and sourcers.

However, unlike HR, formal education is still lacking for recruiters and sourcers. It’s largely ignored and dismissed by academia, and yet there’s a growing need for comprehensive corporate recruitment training programs.

Recruiting is and should be a legitimate career choice and today there are organizations like the Sourcing Institute Foundation driving that change.

Join TalentCulture #TChat Show co-founders and co-hosts Meghan M. Biro and Kevin W. Grossman as they talk about why recruiting is a legitimate career choice with this week’s guest: Shally Steckerl, founder of the Sourcing Institute Foundation and a pioneer in talent sourcing and recruiting.

Thank you to all our TalentCulture sponsors, partners and supporters!

What Has Trump Got That's Making Him So Darn Popular?

    in Self Help

Underreporting of immigration statistics, underreporting of data on the commission of crimes by illegal aliens, non-reporting on how many Mexican citizens are living in the United States, deliberate deception by the media of the situation on our borders...is there any mystery why a candidate who is willing to speak publicly, without political correctness or fear of retribution, has captured the attention of the American public?

While Donald Trump may not be your pick for a Presidential candidate, and his positions on issues may have fluctuated vastly over the past few years, you cannot take away from him the fact that he is out there saying what many of people are feeling.

We’ll look at Trump's take on the issues, his delivery and the opposition being thrown at him from almost every political sector...including his own party.

After taking Toivo accross the country to set him up in his new apartment and register him for school, Dr. McKellar returned to her home on the west coast.  Life went on, school began, Toivo settled in to college life and was very good about staying in touch. After calling his mother one day to report he would be crossing the southern boarder to give a friend a ride and reporting to her that his phone was acting up, Toivo promised to call her in a day or so after purchasing a new phone. That was the last time Dr. McKellar heard Toivo's voice. Tune in to Life Happened... today to hear the story from Dr. McKellar and to find out more about helping to find Toivo
