Achieving Well-Being Through Altering Your Subconscious Programming

    in Spirituality

Have you ever heard the expression that we only use 10% or our brain? This is a misconception, it is more accurate to say we use approximately 10% of our mind consciously. Learning the language of the subconscious mind allows you to access your existing programing to make positive, permanent changes in your thoughts, habits, behaviors, health and well-being. Unleash the dormant powers you possess and make your dreams your reality.

Jeannine Sanderson is no stranger to adversity. She is an incest survivor who spent her youth in fear and torment. She battled with depression, anxiety, obesity, eating disorders and self abuse. The childhood abuse led to many physical ailments that caused even further pain and suffering. In order to overcome, Jeannine learned and created methods of becoming the author and editor of her own emotions and behaviors, conscious and subconscious. Her world was so profoundly changed that she became inspired to share these benefits with others. Her passion and purpose were revealed through her anguish. Jeannine is now healthy, happy, empowered and enjoying her life to the fullest.

11:11- An Important and Powerful Time of Transitions ~ Chris Flisher

    in Spirituality

November 11th (11:11) is powerful date. We will be will be witnessing a very ominous alignment. By the time you read or see this we may already have knowledge of what transitting Mars conjunct Pluto, squaring Uranus has delivered. Of course this will be different for each of you as we all have a different set of scenes in our lives where this occurs. I want to emphasize that this need not always be dire on a personal level. I suspect the impact will likely be felt on the global stage. At the same time as this unfolds we have a collection of planets moving together through Scorpio. The Sun, Venus and Saturn are all clustered together in the middle degrees of this sign. Long regarded as a troublesome planet, Saturn, is actually our friend. His influence is associated with responsibility and accountability, without which we would surely fail. So consider him a positive influence in this regard. With Venus along for the time we can expect a responsible outcome to a nagging problem perhaps; one that has plagued us (that’s an intentional word, plague) recently. We may see a solution arise from this rather intense period. I will caution you that other events are likely as well. The Mars/Pluto/Uranus activity will demand our attention, so simply keep that in the back of your mind and be prepared. As I mentioned last week this degree is the same as the Grand Cardinal Cross of last April which brought about significant natural events. We may see something similar. Regardless of your view of the cosmos, we have historical data that supports this type of event, and so, it is wise to heed the notice."

"I'm under CONSTRUCTION, could YOU possibly be as well?

    in Spirituality

When we go through things in life, it is human to cry out Lord why me? At the end of the day we don't have the right to question Him. He is God, He knows about all your hurt and all your pain. He's waiting for you to ask for help. He's waiting for you to depend on Him. Waiting for you to surrender. You who have been handling it on your own, you who've been paying God.  We often say " I surrender ALL" then trust Him and let go. Could you be under construction? but you keep interupting the process.... Let's talk..

The Author Chat Show with Lynda D. Brown

    in Books

Meet author Stephen W. Hiemstra. I'll be interviewing him about his book, A Christian Guide to Spirituality: Foundations for Disciples

    About the book:

A Christian Guide to Spirituality takes the form of 50 daily devotions. Each topic is treated with a scriptural reference, reflection, prayer, and questions for discussion. Occasionally, references are provided for further study. The first four chapters (Introduction, Apostle’s Creed, Lord’s Prayer, and Ten Commandments) cover 40 days making them suitable as a Lenten study. Ten additional days focus on the spiritual disciplines and a short conclusion. Fifty days of study allow an Easter study running through Pentecost.

    About the author:

Author Stephen W. Hiemstra (MDiv, PhD) is a slave of Christ, husband, father, tentmaker, economist, and writer. He lives with Maryam, his wife of thirty years, in Centreville, VA and they have three grown children.

Stephen has been an active writer spanning both his career as an economist and a pastor. As an economist of 27 years in 5 federal agencies, he published numerous government studies, magazine articles, and book reviews. He has maintained a personal website since the 1990s and he has been active in social media. A Christian Guide to Spirituality is his first published book.

Stephen is currently a second career tentmaker dividing his time equally between Hispanic ministry and blogging under a theme of “online pastor”. As a hospital chaplain intern, he worked in the emergency department, a psychiatric unit, and an Alzheimer’s unit. He is an elder in Centreville Presbyterian Church.

Could gentrification be the answer to violence in Chicago?

    in Current Events

Join us today 5:30 CST as we raise the question:

Could gentrification be the answer to violence in Chicago?

When a more diverse group of families move into a neighborhood should this be viewed as a negative, particularly when greater resources and opportunities come as a result of this migration?

Why do you think that some Black neighborhoods are not desirable and what can be done to make these neighborhoods more desirable even for Black families?

The Bonafide Literary Show S2 Ep8: Diverse Authors and Books

    in Books

In love with writing a chilling murder mystery, B. Berry is the author of several books across genres including that which brings American history into the mix reminiscent of a good book by any black author at  large in years past   Sometimes writing under the name Barbara Grovner, B. Berry has written a peculiar novel set in the time of the Black Movement of the 1960's, Clothesline Blues. Bloody Sunday is the backdrop of this book as two women quietly riot in their own movement in their backyard. In her books, Barbara Grovner takes a whole lot of plot and turns it into its own diversity campaign for better characters and storylines that don't blend in added with some cold twists. This Florida author is trying everything possible in her writing for a job lauded as well done in the literary community. B. Berry's book Cold Crazy is the first in the Cold series.
