2 Corinthians 5:7 "For we walk by faith, not by sight."
What does that verse really mean? What should we take from it? Do we really believe what it says?
In today's wayward church, we may think this means to 'name and claim' your blessing. A new car, more money, or some other self-centered thing. As if God is the bellboy and we are the patron staying at the hotel. Throw God a dollar bill, get what we want, and have a good day
However, walking by faith is not trusting to get what you want from God. It’s depending on Him even when you do not understand. It's walking in a dark tunnel where you can't see a pinprick of light. It's taking one agonizing foot forward inch by inch.
For one woman, walking by faith and not by sight is more than just a nice Bible verse, it's the thread of her being. Like Job, she has been bombarded with calamity after calamity from the time she was in her mother's womb. Financial ruin, loss of relationships, and the loss of physical health, she is truly Job for us...but unlike Job we don't know if it's going to end well at all. So she is walking by faith, not by sight.
This episode is more than just about showcasing a book; it's about experiencing the words of someone who is hanging on by the scratch marks her nails left behind. Join us on the Success Solutions Live radio show Thursday, September 4th at 2:00 pm CT as we welcome guest Lourdes Colon’s to discuss her award-winning documentary, “Create Option C: My Journey With Cancer.” - One Woman’s Courageous Plan to Overcome Cancer.
Actress Lourdes Colon was at the height of her career in 2010 when she received the ultimate death sentence—she was diagnosed with stage 4, Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. It was as if a nuclear bomb had exploded within her and engulfed every inch of her body. It would take a miracle of miracles, and the film and television rising star knew it.
Colon’s unique approach to overcome the deadly disease is chronicled in the groundbreaking film, Create Option C: My Journey With Cancer. Instead of shriveling up and surrendering — Colon’s life-threatening challenge—turned her into a researcher, nutritionist, spiritual guru and then a filmmaker. She had always wondered what her contribution to humanity would be and now she knew. She would communicate all that she was learning by filming each step of her battle as she forewent traditional western cancer treatments and instead adopted a treatment that included alternative medicine, organic nutritional and spiritual lifestyle. She would bare it all while filming the fight that she would either win or lose.
“Option C is to do the research, take the fear out of the equation and find out what works best for your body to cure its cancer,” Colon explained. “We are proud to have the opportunity to present such a significant film,” said LHMI, Executive Director Bel Hernandez, “What Lourdes has been able to capture with this documentary has such a powerful message. It also faces head on the controversy of choosing non-toxic cancer treatments.”
"You wouldn't always know it from Washington news — by almost every measure, the American economy, the American workers are better off than when I took office, "We're better off by almost every measure, to fight for "every inch" of progress and "work against a lock-step opposition that is opposed to everything we do.But it's worth it, every gray hair is worth it, Obama joked. .And at least I've got some hair." Milwaukee Journal
"Annie turns herself inside out when she slowly comes to grip with the startling truth that her adolescent daughter is pulling out her hair, a little bit at a time. How long will it be until she is neat bald? Annie finally finds a way to cope that has long lasting repercussions. Annie writes this story after having list all her hair during her cancer vacation last year. Today she and her daughter run a tour company in Victoria BC, called Transform Travel, taking visitors on VIP shopping adventures. Their greatest passion is to host women with cancer on a transforming shopping tour that makes them feel amazing and also helps them find clothes that can enable them to be victorious over cancer.

Although there are many ways to heal (most of them serious and
intense), my favorite way is through laughter and fun. Being an
educator and teacher for over thirty years has allowed my students
and me this blessed luxury.
I love experiencing the joy of life. Celebrating the journeys of those
around me as I continue to live, love, laugh, and heal myself. (It’s not
always fun playing in the sandbox alone).
