A New Model of Leadership w/ Betsy Leatherman President of The Leadership Circle

    in Management

What does leadership look like when it is rooted in collaboration, support, awareness and creativity all the way through the organization from top to bottom and bottom to top? In this episode, we will explore creative and aware leadership with the President of The Leadership Circle, Betsy Leatherman. Not only will we discuss what this new model of leadership looks like, but we’ll also explore the tangible and robust results that emerge when an organization leads from creativity and awareness rather than reactivity.

Bio: Betsy Leatherman is the president of both The Leadership Circle and Full Circle Group.  Her global role includes growth strategy, operational performance, deep customer intimacy and employee engagement for both brands.  When she isn’t spending her time with customers working through ways to help them reach their goals, she is listening to practitioners and learning of new ways to help them improve their businesses.  With a background in marketing and consulting she loves to listen and solve problems.  She may be a little addicted to leadership as a solution to create excellent business results, but shouldn’t she be?  When she isn’t passionately pursuing excellence with her clients, she can be found at a hockey rink with her husband Mike watching their true loves, Riley (10) and Kieran (8), be strong future leaders on the ice and in their hometown of Wayzata, Minnesota.

Neil Haley Interviews Author and Coach, Lance Loya

    in Education

Lance Loya has a passion for teaching people to be good teammates! He is the author of two books—the popular children’s book Be A Good Teammate and the newly released Building Good Teammates. Although Loya has spent most of his coaching career at the collegiate level, he has worked with players at nearly every level of basketball. His youth basketball camps are some of the nation’s largest and attended by several hundred players every summer, popular with aspiring players becasue of the emphasis on teamwork. Campers are reminded daily that good teammates care, good teammates share, and good teammates listen™.

A former point guard at Garrett Community College and the University of South Carolina-Upstate, Loya garnered a reputation for being a “coach” on the court and true student of the game. As a player, he earned Academic All-American honors, and went on to earn a Masters degree in sports management. He is presently the all-time most winning basketball coach in Mount Aloysius College history. Though innovative in his coaching techniques, Loya's philosophies are still deeply grounded in a strict adherence to fundamentals, discipline, and good sportsmanship, which he instills in players. Everything w/Kathy B, Katherine Wong-Velasco, Dr. D Ivan Young, Dr. Drakeford

    in Entertainment

Source Nation!  Join us tonight from 6-9 EST for Love Zone Mondays and Parents and Teen Talk

6:15-Katherine Wong-Velasco discusses with Kathy, Thinking Outside The Box When It comes To Dating.

For a long time, Katherine felt she had to find a man of similar background to her — well-educated and ambitious in their career. Katherine was ready to settle down and get married, but it just wasn’t happening. Then she read “The Surrendered Single”, and she started to examine her thinking. Why not go ‘outside the box’ when it comes to dating? What if she had been overlooking someone brilliant just because his path didn’t match hers? Katherine realized that the relationship that would make her happiest would never come if she tried to force her own goals on it. She let go of her old notions, tried some different strategies, and found the wonderful man that would become her husband. Her past relationships weren’t mistakes; they were a learning ground for the future.

7:15- Dr. D Ivan Young & Kathy B discuss Purpose, Power and Potential: Who Are You Really Marrying Or In a Relationship With?

8:15 Dr. Jocelyn G. Drakeford joins Host Chevonna Johnson for Parents & Teens Talk to speak to the Youth and Parents on the topic, African American Males Knowing Their History.

Dr. Jocelyn G. Drakeford, Ed.D., has over 35 years of professional service in the field of education, educational leadership, and administration.  In the capacity of education consultant, Dr. Drakeford specializes in Classroom Management,  Learning Styles, Understanding the Learning Styles and Multiple Intelligences Connection, Designing Multiple Intelligences Performance Tasks, and Designing the Performance Based Projects – With the End Result In Mind. Dr. Drakeford has done extensive work in the area of educating African American males.
