    Homosexuality in the Church

    in Social Networking

Today in 2015 society postures homosexuality as simply an "alternative lifestyle". Does God love homosexuals? Why is there such debate and division within churches over the issue of homosexuality? Why do some Christians have a problem with these things?

Verses in the Old Testament prohibit "lying with mankind as with womankind: it is abomination". Today too some interpreters uphold that understanding of these passages, while other interpreters maintain that they do not condemn homosexuality, saying that historical context suggests other interpretations or that rare or unusual words in the passages may not be referring to homosexuality.

Tonight, let's take a look at how God views homosexuality.

    in Christianity

On this epsisode of G220 Radio we will be discussing the topic of homosexuality with guest Gayane Barnes, a Godly Christian woman who is willing to share her struggles with homosexuality and how God has brought her out of it.

Today society tries to tell us that there is nothing wrong with two people of the same sex to love each other and to have the right to marry that person. However the Word of God says something different than society and the culture around us. Some also believe this is a political issue and that Christians should not get invovled with this discussion. While there are yet others who will profess to be Christians and yet say that homosexuality is ok and that the bible does not teach against homosexuality but that it is ok as long as it is between two people in a devoted and faithful relationship. Some also argue the fact that they were born this way, so how can you hold it against them for being how they were born. Is that really what Christianity teaches?

When a Christian stands in opposition to homosexuality they are called hateful or bigots. Christian businesses are boycouted, some even sued and ran out of business. While other Christian organizations collapse and give into the pressures and become accepting of gay marriage.

What does the Bible say about homosexuality? Tune in as we discuss this issue and more on G220 Radio.

Homosexuality & Christianity: What did Jesus say?

    in Current Events

Nicholas Snow welcomes Rev Clinton Crawhaw, Senior Pastor of the Metropolitan Community Church of the Coachella Valley, to discuss what Jesus did and did not say about homosexuality, dispelling a lot of the lies and mythology perpetuated by so-called "Christians."

Rev Crawshaw was born in Woking, in the county of Surrey just to the southwest of London (UK) in 1970  He moved with his parents to Devonshire at age eleven, then ran back to London ASAP at age 21. He went forward for ordination in The Church of England at age 30, and after studying at St Steven's House, Oxford, was ordained in 2002. He served as curate at St Alphage's church, Burnt Oak for 18 months, during which time he began to question the Anglican position on human sexuality and pastoral care.  After much soul searching and a period of extended illness he transferred credentials to MCC in 2006, and has worked as chaplain at Carl Bean House, an HIV hospice in South Central Los Angeles, and interim Pastor of The MCC Church in New Orleans, which he saw grow (with the support and hard work of his partner Leon) from a post Katrina low of 11 members to a thriving congregation of 95 members.  In May 2011 he was called to serve the congregation of MCC of The Coachella Valley as intentional interim Specialist, accompanying the church through a period of intense growth and revival. In March 2013 he was invited to remain at MCCCV as permanent Senior Pastor.  Rev Crawshaw's interests are, theology, art, antiques, the great outdoors and his three dogs, Mardi (Puggle), Precious (Australian shepherd) and Zack (Keeshond).

Out of the Closet: Is Homosexuality Sin?

    in Christianity

It is the year 2015. Homosexuality is today accepted by in large in society as a perfectly normal lifestyle. The great coming out of the closet that has occurred over the last twenty years is over and being homosexual is no longer seen as something to hide for many people. To speak out publically against homosexuality is seen as "bigoted", "close minded", "old fashioned", and "hateful". Homosexuals have aligned themselves with other civil liberty groups (black rights, women's rights, etc.). It is not uncommon to find "gay Christians" who are active in their churches. Is all of this ok? What does the Holy Bible say about the subject? What does Jesus Christ think about Homosexual lifestyles? Join brother Jim in this ministration and get the wisdom of God on the subject.

Homosexuality is a hot topic today in our society and also even though it is a small minority it has gained large ground because of being so vocal about their agenda. How has the church dealt with the issue of homosexuality? We are beginning to see many churches begin to embrace homosexuality and allowing gay men or women into the pulpits, or changing their views on gay marriage. Others take a much harder stance on homosexuality and treat it as almost if not the most unforgivable sin imaginable. How should we as Christians appoarch the issue of homosexuality?
