Auntie Anne's Pretzels are known world-wide, but many people don't know that these hand-rolled soft pretzels got their start at a farmer's market stand in Pennsylvania in 1988. Founder "Auntie" Anne Beiler joins Smart Company host Kelly Scanlon to describe the company's humble origins, how they handled almost runaway growth, and the thinking behind the company's decision to franchise. The author of a book called Twist of Fate, Anne also dishes lots of advice for entrepreneurs.
Anne's journey to become a leading female entrepreneur began years before the first pretzel was rolled. In September 1975, Anne and her husband experienced a parent’s worst nightmare – the loss of a child. This event propelled Anne into years of darkness during which she nearly lost her husband, her family, and her faith. Out of her pain came purpose and the desire to persevere towards success personally and professionally. Today, Anne finds her purpose as a public speaker, inspiring business communities and encouraging women across the globe.
In 1992 Anne received her first Entrepreneur of the Year award from Inc. Magazine. She's also been named one of America’s 500 Women Entrepreneurs by Working Women, and received honorary doctorates from Eastern College and Elizabethtown College. Anne has been featured on many television shows including, The Food Networks Unwrapped, Oprah, Good Morning America, and Joyce Meyers; and in magazines such as Fortune, Nation’s Restaurant, Entrepreneur Startups, and Guideposts.

Join Anna K. as she interviews guests weekly about what makes them GLOW...inside and out! Every Friday, 10am EST. Join Anna as she interviews author, Garnet Schulhauser, this week!
Garnet is a retired lawyer who lives near Victoria, on Vancouver Island, with his wife, Cathy, and little dog, Abby. He grew up on a small farm in Saskatchewan and moved to Calgary, Canada, after law school where he practiced corporate law for over thirty years with two blue-chip law firms. After retiring from his law firm in 2008, he began his new career as an author and his first book, Dancing on a Stamp, was published in 2012. Since the release of his first book, Garnet has been active with book signing tours and speaking engagements and has been a frequent guest on radio talk shows. When he is not writing or connecting with his followers, Garnet enjoys golfing, nature walks in the forest with Abby, and family gatherings with his sons, Blake and Colin, and their partners, Lauren and Bergis, and granddaughter Kymera.
In Dancing on a Stamp, Garnet recounts how his life changed dramatically one day in 2007 (while still practicing law) when he was confronted on the street by a homeless man named Albert (who was actually a wise spirit in disguise) who revealed startling new revelations about our soul journey on Earth and the afterlife that awaits us. Albert’s revelations were inspiring, uplifting, and comforting, and flew in the face of almost everything that Christian holy men had been preaching for centuries. He wrote Dancing on a Stamp at Albert’s request so that these revelations would be available to everyone.

Isn't it a bit strange that we go through some twelve or more years of schooling, going through math, science, social studies, history, english, etc. but seem to have missed the class on how to live (life)? At least when I was in elementary school and Jr. High School, we received bits and pieces of such, but nothing directly which would help us understand the world in which we live or how to live successfully in it.
The choices we have as to how we will live our lives are many and varied, filled with individuals and philosophies to guide you aong their particular path, always with a price to pay ... usually paid by you and me. Each philosophy has an end point that is laid out and moved toward with each step we take in that particular school or philosophy of living. All is designed to eliminate the ignorance, striving and frustration while promising direction toward success, integrity, confidence and a host of other things we all want. Each philosophy requires a faith and confidence in their precepts as evidenced by confessions of such and changed behaviors to help attract the desired results.
Most of us have been there but seem to have missed what life is truly about. Let's look at "How Are You Living Your Life?" and see if we can make sense out of all of this.
There are areas in the prophet/prophetic vessel that must be purified and consecrated to the Lord before the Lord can fully release him/her into the fullness of ministry. The Lord will put these areas to the test until they acceptable to Him.
Genesis 22:1 And it came to pass after these things, that God tried Abraham, and said to him, Abraham! and he said, Here am I. Romans 12:1 Therefore I urge you, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service.
