Modern Day Troubadour Andrew Landers Finds Sacred in the Ordinary, Fans Respond

    in Indie Music

Andrew Landers has spent 2 decades playing his narrative in the unsung Americana Folk genre, a colorful brainy singer songwriter who shares the stage with a myriad of national artists. With 11 records to his name, he is the epitome of what a modern day traveling corduroy storytelling troubadour sounds and feels like.

Ed Rowell (Author & Speaker) "Andrew is not at all that hard to figure out. He's just a neo-hippy poet musing on theology and sociology from a post-modern perspective. He simply finds the sacred in the ordinary, the humor in the serious, and the tranquil in the noise that surrounds us all."

Andrew lives in rainy Olympia WA with 6 amazing kids, 1 pretty wife and a 72 VW Bus. He digs the St. Louis Cardinals and believes the Yankees suck! He's fully convinced that Barney “the purple messiah” is the reason dinosaurs went instinct and has a codependent relationship with his 3 acoustic guitars named CASH, Dylan, and Guthrie.

Max Allen Collins (author of "Road To Perdition) "Andrew is the real deal - soulful, unpretentious storyteller who tells it from the heart. His music is as profound as it is entertaining."

Andrew says it like this: "Music is my compass, it’s how I see the world and long to see it better. The songs that I'm singing every night are the songs that I need — not to learn how to play, but to learn how to live better.”

A live show with Andrew Landers and or Mainstreet Struggleville is a medicinal musical collide of Shawn Mullins writing style, Tommy Emmanuel’s acoustic guitar prowess, the soulful bluesy influence of Stevie Ray Vaughan, the jam bandy feel of Phish and the feel good vibe of Bob Marley. http://www.andrewlanders.com

    "Elevated Minds"

    in Hip Hop Music

Hip hop hippy to the hippy to the hip hop rock and ya don't stop! A whole genre of music started with these very words, and since has grown into a sociopolitical movement wih a force to be reckoned with. In the beginning many believed this new "young people's music" was just a fad and would soon be out like Disco. However Hip Hop has stood the test of time and has proven time and time again that it is here to stay. Some say that hip hop is dead or is dying. With the controversy surrounding the genre we at Elevated Minds decided to do a month long dedication to the music of a lifestyle. We will start being the historians we are like we do on any other issue with the history of the movement, over the course of the month we will evaluate the use of dance, talk about some of the original rap beefs, battle rapping, etc. We will be counting down our top 10 albums as well as our top MC's of all time you do not want to miss the evaluation of Hip Hop live on Elevated Minds Radio!!!

Seattle Wave Radio Jammin' Challenge Interviews

    in Indie Music

Isaiah Dominguez: With an iPhone full of audio memos, a new mentality, and a different city of unfamiliar views, Seattle-based singer/songwriter he returns with a batch of his most honest and thoughtful songs to date.

Isaiah has been adamant about representing his hometown of Olympia, no matter where life takes him and his music reflects it. His style, a unique blend of folk and pop/rock, has developed and evolved over the years through various influences. His previous music endeavors reflect this statement; Dominguez fronted the pop/punk band, Take Me Instead, for several years, playing with the likes of The Story So Far, Shoreline Drive, and Dylan Jakobson, before disbanding 2012 and launching into an era of self-discovery. The band’s breakup was bittersweet, Dominguez said. As a solo artist, he is now able to express himself with more freedom.https://www.facebook.com/isaiahjdominguez/timeline

    Hippy Mamas Are Chill

    in Comedy

Women love to complain. When they are young, they complain about who has the cutest clothes. When they get older, they complain over what the best tampon brand is (FYI, it's that pearl kind). After that they complain about what guys bangs the best. However, when they get older, women complain how to raise a kid. Everyone has heard the "normal" way to raise a kid, but our guest this week, Bethany Zajac has an alternative way or raising kids, working, and living life. This is a really cool guest you aren’t going to want to miss! We’ll also be talking to our second favorite lesbian, Gina, about teachers getting fired for being hot, as well as playing Who’s Hotter, Name that Race, and Shit, Shit, I Know That!

Arthur May is a prodigious  singer, songwriter, fontman and entertainer. He has recorded, written and toured from Spain to New York, Montreal, Paris and London. His first recordings happened as a result of a television show in Paris where he was debuted to the public. Arthur's bands include Arthur's Dilemma and his fist spot as guitarist was with a Hippy outfit that Arhur recalls was wonderful fun Starry-Eyed and Laughing. In London his buds were Al Stewart, Jasper Carrot. In 1977, Arthur and his band Arthur's Dilemma  took Montreal by storm and arrived in New York to play Max's Kansas City every week for 4 months. This necessitated 5 changes of clothes for each show as they were either wet from performing or torn off by vagabond lovers all a part of that great event called New York in the 1970s. The houses they played were packed with the fashionisti and the Glitterati John and Yoko, Andy Warhol, David Hockney and every one ih the New Wave came to see this band.  Arthur's status with work visas was precarious and so he returned to England and the further adventures.......will be revealed in the second part of Arthur's musical profile on the Radio show.
