He Said, on Next Steps Radio

    in Books

February and April are He Said/She Said months on Next Steps Radio!

Does gender count when it comes to writing thrillers? Are there differences between the two sets of authors and the books they write? And the biggie: is one gender more likely to be successful than the other?

First up, the men. Please join host and award-winning suspense novelist Jenny Milchman as she talks to three male authors about whether sex matters.

Matthew FitzSimmons was born in Illinois and grew up in London, England. He now lives in Washington, DC, where he taught English literature and theater at a private high school for over a decade. THE SHORT DROP, a political kidnapping conspiracy thriller, is his first novel.

Barry Lancet’s third book in his award-winning international thriller series featuring Jim Brodie is PACIFIC BURN. Previous books are JAPANTOWN (Barry Award Winner) and TOKYO KILL (Shamus Award Finalist). Lancet divides his time between Japan and California.

After graduating with a Journalism degree from the University of Oklahoma, Tim Washburn spent several years working in the television business both in Oklahoma City and Little Rock, Arkansas. His first book, POWERLESS, deals with a geomagnetic solar storm that destroys every power grid in the northern hemisphere, flinging the human race back to the Dark Ages.

THE PEOPLE vs OJ SIMPSON - HE DID IT (or did he?)

    in Entertainment

Of all the cast members in “The People v. O.J. Simpson,” Cuba Gooding, Jr. may have the toughest challenge: He has to embody someone everyone has an opinion on. But guilty or innocent, Gooding says he’ll never reveal his true feelings about the case — or the former Heisman trophy winner, who’s now in prison on an unrelated charge. It's an ALL-STAR cast let me tell  you from John Travolta to Bruce Greenwood to David Schwimmer to Malcolm Jamal Warner plus so many others.

This case is definetly a "where were you when that white Bronco was driving slowly down the highway?". It was just a few years after the L.A. Riots and which I feel affected why the case was aquitted.

    "I Think He Loves Me"

    in Lifestyle

February the month known for love and we focus on relationships and what love is and looks like. We will begin with "I think he loves me" because we often have individuals in relationships in their imagination. A person can show a little more attention to them than others and if you have an attraction then all of a sudden you fabricate this relationship based on your own emotion and not what the reality is. Shirley Carter, entrepreneur, author and speaker will share from her book "Inside the mind of a woman & the heart of a man".

He Said, She Said - Double Survivor Episode on Recovery Now with Kim Justus

    in Radio

My guest tonight is Timothy Guetling, who suffered his brain injury in 1972. Timothy is SSGI retired 2013. The recurring repercussions caught him off guard, but he was able to work, paying income/payroll taxes for 40 years. Little was known about brain injury back then, and repeated TBI's altered his ability to perform as he once did. Now he is on several TBI,PTSD, BI/Disabled Groups offering his assistance to others, from his vast experience. Those  experiencing what he has can also practice daily "recovery evolution."  We'll talk about changes in how brain injuries were handled then and now on many levels ... Support, Family, Physicians, Education.

Darlene Krause was born with her first aneurysm. The second came as a result of a TBI on 7/7/12. She has had several strokes, seizures, and balance issues. Her journey has been a long one, but even more so in the last few challenging years. Her life, the life of her family and friends, has all been effected, and she continues to find her way.

This show is a gathering place for anyone seeking recovery from the challenges of life on life's terms. We discuss useful tools that have helped us lighten the load, of our journey through recovery. This is a "we" recovery program, because it is in the "we," that we find the new "me."

We focus on the four A's of Recovery: Awareness, Acceptance, Action and Adaptation. This is a place for survivor's striving to become thrivers.

Front part of show is a featured guest. The second is Open Mic and some great Indy Music, sure to inspire! Host is Kim Justus, author of In a Flash: Miracles Here and Beyond found at www.inaflash.org & "Like" at www.facebook.com/inaflash.org and www.facebook.com/braininjuryradionetwork
