    Appetite for Fun!!!!

    in Rock Music

This week we welcome Vicky Hamilton as our latest celebrity guest. Who is Vicky Hamilton you ask? Well my Friend, she is only the most important person in the life of one of the last great rock bands (Metallica being the other) to come along in the 80's. She was a mover and a shaker in the metal world helping bands like Motley Crue, Poison, Faster cat, & Salty Dog make their way into the main stream (ok I am pushing it with the Salty Dog Reference). But none the less, if you were trying to make it in the "Hair Metal" world in the 80's and 90's then Vicky Hamilton was someone you needed to impress. Her soon to be released book "Appetite for Dysfunction" is to be released shortly and we will talk to her about this amazing time in the era of our favorite music.

The Rangers begin their pursuit of Lord Stanleys cup this week with thier series against the Penguin, and I will have a breakdown of this series and my predictions on all of the 1st round matchups for the NHL playoffs.

The Yankees and Mets have started ther seasons in less than spectacular fashion, and we will certainly breakdown the early results and can talk about some of the surprises from the firstt 2 weeks of the MLB season.

I also posted a list, given to me, showing some of the gteatest baseball hitters of all time. We can break down this list and I will be happy to discuss who ISNT on this list and question how and why someone is on the list.

Dee Snyder is pissed at A.J. Pero, Slayer to release their next album, Frank Hannon (Tesla) gave his opinion on the VanHalen Live album and I will give you my take as well on these and some other topics in the world of hard rock and metal.

Log onto BLOGTALKRADIO.COM to tune in to hear me and my special guest chat about her history making time with one of hard rocks biggest bands. And please feel free to call in as always

The Kerri Edelman Show presents Hard Rock Band Heartist

    in Rock Music

Behind everything Heartist do lies one simple goal: to bring real, honest emotion back into heavy music. Writing songs that are equal parts anthemic grandeur, brawny metalcore-infused heaviness, and chorus-driven radio rock nirvana, the quintet wear their influences on their collective sleeve while being far more than the sum of their parts.  Formed in 2011, the members of Heartist – vocalist Bryce Beckley, guitarist Tim Koch which were rounded out by guitarist Robby Devito, bassist Evan Ranallo and drummer Matt Marquez - walked away from college educations and secure employment to focus one hundred percent on music.  They subsequently spent many months honing their sound, determined to create something that stood out on its own merits, and in no rush to leap back into the scene that failed to excite them. At the same time, they displayed a certain savvy in creating an online buzz that intrigued and lured potential fans without even playing a single show, a tactic that paid off - and then some.  “We also got lucky, because our A & R at Roadrunner books bands at our hometown venue, which we didn’t realize, we just asked him to put us on! We really lucked out - we played that one show and got signed.” In 2012 the band dropped their Nothing You Didn’t Deserve EP, subsequently touring with the likes of Architects UK and Enter Shikari, plus a European run supporting label mates Killswitch Engage.  While Nothing You Didn’t Deserve was a solid release in its own right, it only hinted at what the band were capable of, and with debut full-length Feeding Fiction they lay it all on the line.  The band enlisted Producer David Bendeth (Of Mice & Men, Bring Me The Horizon) to record their full-length album with.  Be sure to pick up a copy of their amazing album titled Feeding Fiction featuring the hit singles Skeletons & Ignite!  For more information, visit www.heartistband.com

    You mad Bro?!!!!

    in Rock Music

I wonder if Richard Sherman was asking Tom Brady that magic question afetr this game or better yet , did he ask that question of Pete Carroll.

Well What a football Game!!! The Super Bowl certainly lived up to its billing as a great game Played by the 2 best teams in Football. Of course we all have the right to question the Final play call by the Seahawks and I pretty sure we will spend some time disecting this whole series of events. I am not sure that Bellichek was right in handling the time management and if they had lost I think he could have certainly been questioned on this. So we will break down this game and put our final touches on this past season, talking about some of the big pending free agents, Will Peyton Manning come back? Where does Darrell Revis wind up? Lots to talk about in closing out this football season and turning the key on for all of the other sports.

As always I will update you on the many doings in the world of hard rock and metal music including some interesting projects that I have been following.

So please tune in this Thursday at 6:30 p.m. est to talk football and music with me!! Log on to Blogtalkradio.com and search Tom Florio's Hard Rock N' Sports.

    F*#! The Grammy's

    in Rock Music

I have had it with the supposed "mainstream music" disregarding Hard Rock and Metal music like we are some disease to be cut out and disgarded.  So we get about 8 Minutes of real Rock N Roll with AC/DC  (other than a bunch of shots of  Paul McCartney dancing in the aisle to ELO, very disturbing, and a cameo for him performing with Rhianna and Kanye West) and then we get ignored for the remainder of the show. I mean even Jeff Hannemann gets left out of the "In Memoriam" segment, why because he was only in Slayer so he doesn't count? I am officially boycotting this putrid show until they start to acknowledge my favorite music and they rid us of Kayne West. I am so tired of this idiot forcing his views and opinions on us and subjecting to his "singing" (great use of the Auto-tune app) that I am gonna dedicate a portion of this show to my rants and feelings are this subject. So please tune to Hear that and I would love to hear your opinions on this topic.

I will also give my take on the Quiet Riot Documentary that just saw . I

We will also turn the page on the footbal season and start our assault on the remainder of the winter sports and of course Baseball, the national past time (maybe). We will spend some time breaking down the off season for both teams and discuss the many issues facing both teams with Pitchers and Catchers ready to report.

Boy I am  not sure 2 hours is enough time to fit this all in but I will do my best and I look forward to our usual witty banter (ok maybe not). So tune into blogtalkradio.com This coming Thursday Night @ 6:30p.m. est and I will give you my best effort as always.

    So please bring the Noize!!!

Kim McAuliffe of Girlschool (Hard Rock, Metal)

    in Rock Music

Tonight Pop Art PAinter Jamie Roxx (www.JamieRoxx.us) welcomes Kim McAuliffe of Girlschool to the Show!

    www.girlschool.co.uk

With their deliciously dirty rock'n'roll gunslinger swagger, London-based-Lemmy-approved quartet Girlschool are storming back to reclaim their rightful territory as the hardest, coolest real-deal-rocking ladies in music with a brand new Guilty as Sin Produced by Chris Tsangarides (Judas Priest, Thin Lizzy), and with their full-court press approach to riff writing as thick and lustrous as ever, Guilty as Sin preaches the restorative powers of loud, proud, no bullshit rock'n'roll music through greasy stormers "Take It Like A Band" and the thick, anthemic "Come, The Revolution". Fans also get to revisit new versions of two tracks from the vintage 1981 era of Hit And Run with "Kick It Down" and "Watch Your Step". The final track of this album is a Girlschool reworking of the Bee Gee’s classic hit “Stayin’ Alive” which promises to entertain listeners and get ‘em moving!
