The Kerri Edelman Show presents Hard Rock Band Trapt

    in Rock Music

Holing up in a Burbank, California studio, Trapt began to prolifically crank out songs for their 5th album "Reborn." The record's first single "Bring It" served as the catalyst, sparking a veritable flurry of creativity. Fusing together propulsive guitars and an unforgettable upbeat refrain, it's an anthem on par with the band's biggest hits. You could easily hear this piping through an arena with a rallying power. Expanding their patented hard rock sound, the group also seamlessly incorporated flourishes of electronic music to punctuate the drama and energy. Drawing from an ever expanding pallet of electronic and organic sounds and instruments, Brown embraced another side of himself and imbued it into Reborn. Trapt have worked for well over a decade to reach this point. Their 2002 self-titled debut surpassed sales of 2 million units, and its lead-off single "Headstrong" was ranked the #1 alternative song and #8 rock song by Billboard. They were a featured act on Rock Band and Tap Tap Revenge 2, and they also fueled countless WWE specials. In addition, they've shared the stage with heavy hitters such as Mötley Crüe, Nickelback, Hinder, Chevelle, and many more. Most recently, No Apologies entered the Billboard Top 200 at number 25 in 2010. Trapt is currently in the studio recording their 6th album DNA and have released a song from the album called "Passenger" that embodies the more progressive side of TRAPT's brand of hard rock as an intro to what fans can expect from the album. The band is also gearing for their summer tour dubbed the "Life In Your Own Hands" Tour. The new album DNA is shaping up to be a landmark album for TRAPT. It surpasses anything the band has done before and subsequent singles will show the true power that this band possesses. Get ready for DNA, it's going to change everything. • The Kerri Edelman Show presents Hard Rock Band Art of Dying

    in Rock Music

There is an old saying which claims that great art is 90% perspiration and 10% inspiration. The truth though is that exceptional creativity is nurtured by a complexly brewed combination of unswerving dedication and God-given talent. It’s a fact no better illustrated than by the history of Vancouver’s hard-rockers ART OF DYING and their talismanic frontman Jonny Hetherington. What ART OF DYING has been able to create is muscular, vivacious hard-rock bursting with lung-shattering choruses and a sincerity that is impossible to fake. Equally at home with a lead-fingered riff or a deft slow-burner, there is an ease of breadth in AOD’s repertoire that would send most of their peers salad-green with envy. Gradually, Hetherington’s ambitions grew beyond his local sidewalk and he began to seek out like-minded collaborators that he could expand his already impressive template with. Drummer Jeff Brown was swiftly recruited and he and Hetherington set about formulating the powerful nucleus of what ART OF DYING would soon become. It was recordings of those initial sessions that would eventually find their way into the hands on DISTURBED’s Dan Donegan - a guitarist with both a fine personal pedigree and a keen ear for new talent. Plucked from relative obscurity, the band introduced guitarist Tavis Stanley and bassist Cale Gontier to their ranks on the eve of the run with DISTURBED - the quartet playing onstage together for the very first time during the soundcheck of the opening show of the tour. Now, with a critically-acclaimed and widely-played major label debut under their belts, ART OF DYING are returning with new long-player RISE UP, their most imperious effort to date and, by the band’s own admission the truest representation of their sound they’ve ever distilled, which was produced by David Bendeth (Bring Me The Horizon, Breaking Benjamin, Of Mice & Men). John Taglieri new EP True Believer ... melodic hard rock

    in Rock Music

Today Pop Art Painter Jamie Roxx (www.JamieRoxx.us) welcomes Alternative Rocker John Taglieri back to the show!

At the turn of the century singer / songwriter John Taglieri released his debut album, ‘Leap of Faith.’  The album title foreshadowed a career that has so far spanned a decade and a half and has taken John to places he’d previously only dreamed about…from topping the Amazon charts to hitting the Billboard charts to gigging around the world all while maintaining a half year residency in tropical Key West, FL.
In 2015 Taglieri is fourteen releases down the road and has crossed genres from hard rock to pop to country rock and with the True Believer Ep he has returned to the style that kicked it all off for him – pure, unadulterated melodic hard rock.  Writing on his own as well as with longtime friends John Calendrillo and Ron Ossi, Taglieri has created a hook heavy record that even the most discriminating rock fan will be drawn towards.

    Appetite for Fun!!!!

    in Rock Music

This week we welcome Vicky Hamilton as our latest celebrity guest. Who is Vicky Hamilton you ask? Well my Friend, she is only the most important person in the life of one of the last great rock bands (Metallica being the other) to come along in the 80's. She was a mover and a shaker in the metal world helping bands like Motley Crue, Poison, Faster cat, & Salty Dog make their way into the main stream (ok I am pushing it with the Salty Dog Reference). But none the less, if you were trying to make it in the "Hair Metal" world in the 80's and 90's then Vicky Hamilton was someone you needed to impress. Her soon to be released book "Appetite for Dysfunction" is to be released shortly and we will talk to her about this amazing time in the era of our favorite music.

The Rangers begin their pursuit of Lord Stanleys cup this week with thier series against the Penguin, and I will have a breakdown of this series and my predictions on all of the 1st round matchups for the NHL playoffs.

The Yankees and Mets have started ther seasons in less than spectacular fashion, and we will certainly breakdown the early results and can talk about some of the surprises from the firstt 2 weeks of the MLB season.

I also posted a list, given to me, showing some of the gteatest baseball hitters of all time. We can break down this list and I will be happy to discuss who ISNT on this list and question how and why someone is on the list.

Dee Snyder is pissed at A.J. Pero, Slayer to release their next album, Frank Hannon (Tesla) gave his opinion on the VanHalen Live album and I will give you my take as well on these and some other topics in the world of hard rock and metal.

Log onto BLOGTALKRADIO.COM to tune in to hear me and my special guest chat about her history making time with one of hard rocks biggest bands. And please feel free to call in as always

    Robert Sarzo

    in Rock Music

Robert Sazo from the Band Hurricane, will be my live on air call in nterview this coming Thursday Night on the "Hard Rock N Sports" Show. Robert has an interesting tidbit that I didnt know about, which I will explore with him.

We will recap last weeks live show from Fenix Studio as I think it was one of our best shows to date.

The Mets are on the verge of their first World Series appearance in almost 30 years, so I will spend some time on their series with the Cubs and possibly on the WS Match up if the 2 series are decided by then.

The Giants sucked this past monday against the Eagles, so I will give you my perspective on that game and their upsoming rematch with the Cowboys, while the Jets Head into their show fown with Division Rival, New England. A little bluster is missing from this matchup with Ex Jet Coach Rex Ryan, but it feels like this is the Jets biggest game with their rivals in a long while.

Lots to talk about and Much to do

See you Thursday @ 6:30 pm est
