More on Gratitude: A Path to Happiness

    in Relationships

Welcome to Happiness Index.  The Holiday in the United States for Thanksgiving is behind us, but gratitude is forever.    We will continue to remind our listeners that everyday is a day of gratitude.  Gratitude is a state or quality of being thankful, an expression of appreciation and kindness.  We believe that gratitude is happiness.  However, we must remember to be grateful, the moment that we forget, gratitude ends. Let us recall and remember to be grateful for everything and for everyone.  Everyone and everything can be a curse or a blessing according to our belief.  That is the power of our thoughts.  Let us be grateful for the moment. According to Eckhart Tolle, It is through gratitude for the present moment that the spiritual dimension of life opens up.  Gratitude is happiness!  Join in this conversation by calling (347) 539-5818 and share your view on this very important topic.

Interview: Todd Willert - Head Coach & Nique Martin -WR (East Forsyth Football)

    in College & High School

Interview with Coach Wilert and Nique Martin of East Forsyth HS just ahead of the Semi Final Match up VS Charlotte Mallard Creek HS this Friday at 7:30pm

    By Kegan Lowe Winston-Salem Journal

KERNERSVILLE — It was billed as one of the most anticipated matchups in Winston-Salem/Forsyth County history — a NCHSAA 4-AA quarterfinal playoff game between two bitter rivals separated only by a short drive down Business 40.

The result was a one-sided affair that saw No. 1 East Forsyth continue its season-long dominance over the rest of the area and defeat No. 5 West Forsyth, 31-6, in front of a capacity crowd at Clarke-Peterson Field in Kernersville.

Just a day removed from Thanksgiving, East Forsyth Coach Todd Willert was still counting his blessings.

Willert registered his 100th career victory at the school with the win over West Forsyth Friday night.

“I am just so thankful for everyone in our program,” Willert said. “From trainers to coaches to administrators to my athletic director — we took over a program 13 years ago and everybody said we would never win at East Forsyth. And for the guys that have been here with me the whole time, this is the 100th victory and we were never supposed to win.”

Both offenses started slowly, with the Titans forced to punt on their first three possessions while gaining one first down.

The Eagles started only marginally better, getting a 22-yard field goal from sophomore Cameron Lischke on their second possession to end the first quarter with a 3-0 lead. East Forsyth is now just two victories away from a NCHSAA 4-AA state championship. The Eagles will host No. 6 Charlotte Mallard Creek next Friday night in the state semifinals   http://www.journalnow.com/sports/prepzone/football/east-forsyth-rolls-in-willert-s-th-win/article_846d70c0-4de5-59d9-a269-c2f66839e157.html

The Greatest of these is Love

    in Christianity

"Love is a strong Language, but hopefully it will wake us up!"  says Joyce Meyer

I have learned that love can be a scary adventure.  To forgive, to become vuneralble to experience someone else and to accept them without controlling the outcome. Just to allow it to exist in this day and time is rare.  But through a good relationship with god we will learn Loves true meaning!

EP206 Historical Fiction Author Liza Perrat Joins Kori on the Back Porch

    in Writing

Liza grew up in Wollongong, Australia, where she worked as a general nurse and midwife for fifteen years. When she met her French husband on a Bangkok bus, she moved to France, where she has been living with her husband and three children for twenty years. She works part-time as a French-English medical translator, and as a novelist. Her articles on French culture and tradition have been published in international magazines.  Spirit of Lost Angels is the first in her French historical trilogy, The Bone Angel Series. The second – Wolfsangel – was published in October, 2013, and the third, Blood Rose Angel, will be published in November, 2015. She is a founding member of the author collective, Triskele Books and reviews books for BookMuse.

    About the book:

1348. A bone-sculpted angel and the woman who wears it––heretic, Devil’s servant, saint.
Midwife Héloïse has always known that her bastard status threatens her standing in the French village of Lucie-sur-Vionne. Yet her midwifery and healing skills have gained the people’s respect, and she has won the heart of the handsome Raoul Stonemason. The future looks hopeful. Until the Black Death sweeps into France.

Terrified that Héloïse will bring the pestilence into their cottage, Raoul forbids her to treat its victims. Amidst the grief and hysteria, the villagers searching for a scapegoat, Héloïse must choose: preserve her marriage, or honour the oath she swore on her dead mother’s soul? And even as she places her faith in the protective powers of her angel talisman, she must prove she’s no Devil’s servant, her talisman no evil charm.

Héloïse, with all her tragedies and triumphs, celebrates the birth of modern medicine, midwifery and thinking in late medieval times.
