Human trafficking is the modern form of slavery, with illegal smuggling and trading of people, for forced labor or sexual exploitation.
Trafficking is officially defined as: the recruitment, transportation, transfer, harboring, or receipt of persons by means of coercion, abduction, fraud, deception, or abuse of power of a position of vulnerability for the purpose of exploitation. Human trafficking is not synonymous with forced migration or smuggling.
In the U.S., human trafficking tends to occur around international travel-hubs with large immigrant populations, notably California and Texas. The U.S. Justice Department estimates that 17,500 people are trafficked into the country every year, but the true figure could be higher, because of the large numbers of undocumented immigrants. Those being trafficked include young children, teenagers, men and women and can be domestic citizens or foreign nationals. According to the Department of State's statistics from 2000, there are approximately 244,000 American children and youth that are at risk for sex trafficking each year. Of these children and youth, 38,600 were originally runaways.

Our Grandfathers, mothers, sons and daughters fought valiantly for our freedom today. And while the barbecue picnics, dinners and fireworks are a great time to spend with our families, friends and loved ones...which were also free to enjoy, we must not forget how much that freedom cost us. Our brave men and women of the armed forces fought through pain, agony, blood, sweat and tears for every citizen of the United States as well as for each other so that we could experience the great joy of freedom on American soil. But there is indeed another kind of freedom we as children of God must not forget.....Our freedom in Christ. And yes it came with a heavy price tag, one that would lead our Lord and savior to the cross being spat upon, cursed at, mocked and shamed for all the world to see. Our sin nailed him there and freed us from the bondage of sin. For some of us we still find ourselves battling and struggling with the same issues of sin. May God help us to not forget what that freedom cost, and may he prick our hearts and minds to remember the great price and ultimate sacrifice of Jesus by living in the true freedom found in Him rather than staying inslaved to sin. This would be good for us to reflect and recall Christ great love for us, which shows how much we honor the price of our spirtual freedom.??
Hr1 The city of Baltimore saw a bloody Memorial Day weekend, with a total of 29 people being shot, including nine who died. Police force crippled. Hands tied in a no-win situation.
Political commentator and comedian Evan Sayet talks about why there are so few (are there any?) CONSERVATIVE political comedians to counterbalance Bill Maher and Jon Stewart. Evan gives us a little preview on today's show... he just can't help himself...
Hr2 CA Gov wants to amnesty traffic fines for poor. How many of those 4.8 million driver's license suspensions might be illegals? This isn't about people being poor, it's about people being grown ups... quit breaking the law, and show up for and/or pay citation notices.
Marine court-martialed for refusing to remove Bible verse at desk saying it's "contrary to good order & discipline.”
NY Times WMD's DID exist Wadda u know!
Coney Island #StopKillingBlackPeople protesters disrupt Memorial Day. What? No American Flag? Low class hijack. They don't realize who died and gave them the freedom to hold that protest. A little respect would have gone a long way!
Hr3 It's cheaper and easier to hire part-time workers than full-time. How is this helping middle class? US poverty level is over the top! Raising the minimum wage isn't going to help, it'll make it worse!
26 states are not on the side of the President, but he thinks he knows best with his executive orders.

Catholic Founding Fathers - The Carroll Family
CHARLES CARROLL CARTER
George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, James Madison, Patrick Henry, Benjamin Franklin. Nearly every schoolchild recognizes them as the Founding Fathers. But there were a great many more Founding Fathers, even if their names are not so familiar as the above. Several of those lesser-known men who played key roles in the creation of the United States of America were Catholics.
George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, James Madison, Patrick Henry, Benjamin Franklin. Nearly every schoolchild recognizes them as the Founding Fathers signers of the Declaration of Independence, framers of the Constitution, heroes of the Revolutionary War.
There were a great many more Founding Fathers, however, even if their names are not so familiar as the above. Several of those lesser-known men who played key roles in the creation of the United States of America were Catholics. Chief among them were three members of the Carroll family of Maryland: Charles Carroll, the only Catholic signer of the Declaration of Independence; his cousin Daniel Carroll; and Daniel Carroll's brother John Carroll, who became America's first Catholic bishop.
Charles Carroll of Carrollton (1737-1832) was the most illustrious and best-known of the Carrolls. He was the only signer whose property Carrollton was mentioned in the Declaration of Independence. Carrollton was the 10,000-acre estate in Frederick County, Maryland, that Charles Carroll's father had given him on his return to America from his education in Europe.
At the time he signed the Declaration, it was against the law for a Catholic to hold public office or to vote. Although Maryland was founded by and for Catholics in 1634, in 1649 and, later, in 1689 after the Glorious Revolution placed severe restrictions on Catholics in England, the laws were changed in Maryland.

Like many of you, several members of our family have served in the United States Military. We have family that have served as Firemen, Police Officers, and other emergency services. We honor all of you today with this show! We understand that the call of duty affects those that serve and their friends and family. Today is the 147th year our nation has honored those that gave the ultimate sacrifice of laying down their life in service to another! Here at your place, we have given honor by sharing stories of our brave men and women who have recieved the highest honors for service above and beyond the call of duty. We shared with you a two part story with my son and his wife on his service in Iraq. My son returned from Iraq with PTSD (Post Tramatic Stress Disorder) and TBI (Tramatic Brain Injury). They were very open with how this effected them. I remember the nights we had soldiers call from Iraq letting us know they enjoyed this show! I remember the fear in one man's voice as he asked us to pray for his unit. We hope to honor them tonight with this show. The last thing we want is to stir up your emotions and then you do not feel a call to personally honor these brave men and women. Pease remember to take time today to pray for the families and friends of our brave fallen men and women. Then in your own way, show thanks for their service. We are shairing a program with you that is helping our wounded vets. It's called "The Wounded Warrior Project". http://www.woundedwarriorproject.org/ You can go to their web site to find what they do.
