SPONSORED BY MARK PITTMAN--Concluding our series tonight with a discussion on the collective list of hardships imposed upon Black America and its relationship to a healthy and profitable capitalistic dominant society. From economic budget cuts to exaggerated criminal sentences, is this a blueprint for profit by systematic erasure of Black America? Join in tonight at 10:30 pm EST by calling 347-327-9967.
SPONSORED BY MARK PITTMAN--Continuing our discussion on the capitalization and marketing of the tragedies, struggles and degradation of African-Americans...tonight we add a few subjects on the table, including the distasteful distribution of a clothing line of blood-stained sweatshirts by Urban Outfitting for Kent State University, and the case of Marvin Louis Guy, an African-American who is facing capital murder charges and possibly the death penalty for shooting a police officer whose pre-dawn entry into Guy's window awakened him. The sweatshirts created outcry for the insensitivity and tasteless reminder of the Kent State shootings that killed four white students, going so far as to criticize the line to the point of its removal. Those students were memorialized publicly..while the sister protests, the Jackson State killings, which consisted of African-American protesters, protesting the same political move, and had two African-American casualties--received little detailed publicity and very dismissive mentions of the two victims' names. SPONSORED BY MARK PITTMAN--Simply put, the Blue Wall of Safety has become the Big Black Nightmare for the African-American society. The force designed to put citizens' fears to rest, keep society safe, and catch the bad guys have themselves become the source origin of fear, the threats of danger, an the very disarray they are sworn to contain. The new security blanket of "perceived threats" used by the police to unlawfully detain non-violent, unaggressive citizens that result in tragedies or fatalities, along with the pre-rehearsed excuses of "I-feared-for-my-life" at the mere presence of an African-American in the vicinity of a Caucasian resident or neighborhood has completely discombublated the true responsibilities of our law enforcement officials and their boundaries. Civil liberties being violated is an understatement, and once again, even with the newly delivered Guilty verdict against Theodore Wafer, outrage with action and consequences must be pressed upon the powers that be. Join in tonight at 10:30 pm as we discuss the high profile murder cases, the justice carried out, or not, in these cases. Also, tune in as we interview Tylon Washington of GoPro Radio in Jersey City, who is on the receiving end of a shakedown to shut down his radio network as it has become a powerful verbal beacon for the African-AMerican community. Tune it to hear how you can help him stop the injustice. Call in at 347-327-9967.
SPONSORED BY MARK PITTMAN--The high profile case of Ravens' running back Ray Rice has sparked quite a bit of hype across the nation. The court of public opinion, the propaganda of the media outlets, the division of race and gender conflicts among other factors have turned this case into a circus that has opened the floor to address every other problem detail except the root problem--DOMESTIC VIOLENCE. The legal system on a whole treats domestic violence far less intensely than it should, and throw in the "superstars will be superstars" mentality and you now have a larger victim pool of untreated and unpunished cases that continue to slip through the cracks without offering a solution to this problem. Join intonight as we put the distractions from the problem on the hot seat. Call 347-327-9967 at 10:30 pm EST to join in the discussion.
SPONSORED BY MARK PITTMAN--Everywhere you turn, there's a breaking news story depicting a killing of an African-American by a police officer or a racially-charged resident, or an African-American athlete has been disgraced and dissected to a scandal or some inflated criminal offense, or even greater, a high-powered official who has been exposed for something. There are no aids, no solutions, no therapeutic or financial assistance or justice offered to the victims of these transgressions, yet there are massive marketable products emerging to produce capital for those who inflict the mess. Slavery movies, TV interviews and biographical books for the killers, reality TV shows, music videos and exhibitions bank on exposing the destrcution of Black America for cash that is not funneled back into the communities destroyed, but to keep them further down. How do we draw the line? Join in tonight at 10:30 pm EST by calling 347-327-9967.
SPONSORED BY MARK PITTMAN--Baltimore Ravens' running back Ray Rice has been suspended due to the distribution of a videotape depicting a violent assault he committed against his wife in an elevator before they were married. Many factors are under fire in this case, from decisions made by Janay Rice who many find questionable, to the many opinions about domestic violence and the specifics in this case--but no matter what our views are on the details of the case, the true infraction seems to have been committed by the NFL, who turned an old incident into an open case for discipline even though the victim herself has not asked for intervention and doesn't want any actions to be taken. The discipline should be turned onto the athletic leagues in general, for allowing their star players to act recklessly and instead of allowing them to be accountable for their actions, they go to great lengths to dismiss, defend and restore their franchisees back into the games with little consequence. Not surprisingly however, these leagues have no problem allowing African-American athletes to be submerged in consequences of their actions while they shelter and defend their white players for the same offenses. Is race an issue in the decision on this case? Join in tonight at 10:30 pm ESTby calling 347-327-9967.
SPONSORED BY MARK PITTMAN--The Colors of Change group have begun a fundraiser on the GoFundMe site to support killer cop Darren Wilson. Among his supporters, the media has definitely singled out one specific African-American supporter and showcased her comments against her own--ensuring that the world feels comfortable knowing that African-Americans are indeed still ripe for the pickings inthe battle against their success. Join me tonight at 10:30 pm EST as we discuss the parallel practices of Willie Lynch--how the dominant society used and uses it to keep African-Americans in line, and how African-Americans parallel the practices by separating themselves from themselves in modern-day form. SPONSORED BY MARK PITTMAN--Commemorating this day in history...Listen in only tonight as we honor the fallen military soldiers served this country before during and after the 9/11 attacks. This segment also honors all of the other fallen victims who although they were not on the military battlefield, they were drawn into the nasty dangers of negotiations gone wrong on the political and social tables across the world. We honor the miltary victims as well as those civilians who had no say-so in the hatred that led to the taking of their lives and liberties because their assailants refused to react to conflict in a civil manner that respects other's rights. Tonight, the commercialaztion of the nation's grief for profit is on the hit list. LISTEN IN ONLY at 347-327-9967 @ 10:30 pm EST.
SPOSORED BY MARK PITTMAN--Gerald Rivera and Harris Faulkner shot darts across a talk show panel regarding the predicted behavior of prospective jurors in the case of Darren Wilson, the officer who shot and killed 18-year-old Mike Brown in St. Louis, Missouri. Rivera contends that the jury will examine not the evidence on its sole merit, but by the race of the victim, while Faulkner contends that she has faith in Americans to be more broad and fair-minded than that. Whose argument will prevail? join in tonight at 10:30 pm EST with your thoughts by calling 347-327-9967.
SPONSORED BY MARK PITTMAN--The subject of racism and its historical roots has systematically been removed or is being removed from our children's textbooks. Today's youth know little about their forefathers while they face horrific race-based incidents on a regular basis. Currently, the Ferguson protests have become a nationwide event that can no longer be hidden or dismissed. With all that is happening, should our children's educators be mandated to broaden their curriculum horizons and accomodate racism discussions? Join in at 10:30 pm EST by calling 347-327-9967
