Kimberly Potts, author of George Clooney: The Last Great Movie Star, talks about her revealing biography of the Oscar-winning actor. Before the end of 2013, Clooney will be appearing in two upcoming films already receiving Oscar buzz – Gravity and The Monuments Men – so another look at his impressive career as an actor and director seems quite timely. A discussion of Clooney’s latest projects will follow Potts’ taped interview.
Potts, an entertainment/pop culture writer, has written several books, including Everything I Need To Know I Learned from a Chick Flick. She’s also contributed such outlets as TV Guide, US Weekly, Inside TV, E! Online, and Daily Variety.
In her well-researched biography of Clooney, Potts presents fascinating details and behind-the-scenes information about the man she calls “The Last Great Movie Star.” After taking readers back to Clooney’s early years, Potts then explains how this small-town boy used his good looks, charm and personal ethics on his journey to becoming a serious actor, writer, producer, director and humanitarian. She also explores Clooney’s outspoken nature, his concern for others, and his involvement in important causes.
Tonight we start wiht: Confessions of a Stay-at-Home..wait, no that's not right. Confessions of a "New"-At-Home-Mom who hasn't a clue what she's doing. This career girl worked hard for the top job in LA radio and now it's time to LET IT GO.. (or is that just stuck in my head becuase I've been forced to watch the DVD a gazillion times?)
Answer Me This: What happened this weekend? How's it feel to be back? What's next & how are we doing it since I don't have a "DIY" crafting skill molocule in my entire body?
MARCO GONZALEZ stops by to bring the "Pop Talk". What went down in Hollywood that we missed? He's backstage on CBS's The Talk every day now so he's in the mix, and we're at the mall. Thank goodness for Marco.
He'll ask what the heck I was doing on the Red Carpet Sunday and I really hope he asks me "Who are you wearing?". You'll never believe the answer!
And we'll wrap it up by playing "When Is Fireman Matt Coming Back?".
Thanks for joinging tonight's Mommy Monday Show, please follow us on Twitter & let's rock this week together.
Movie Addict Headquarters pays tribute to George Clooney, one of Hollywood's most colorful actors, during this episode. A revealing interview with Kimberly Potts, author of George Clooney: The Last Great Movie Star, will be revisited followed by a discussion of Clooney's latest projects as an actor and activist. Plus he's currently deeply involved in efforts to solve the tragic ethnic cleansing crisis in Sudan.
Actually the title is misleading; It’s really Jim Meskimen imitating George Clooney pretending to know who Rebecca is, and that he likes her hair! In part 3 with Jim Meskimen, Jim describes moving away from Hollywood, growing up in a showbiz family with his real mom Marion Ross (the iconic Mrs. “C” from tv series Happy Days). Jim shares what he learned about the non-glamorous, practical, business elements for the workaday actor, discusses specific examples of entrepreneurial efforts he used and then summarizes his ‘rules to live by’.
He’s been called “Comedy’s Impressions Genius” and Jim Meskimen is an accomplished actor, improviser and voice artist whose work is well-known to TV and film and gaming audiences. He has worked with director Ron Howard on five of his films. His mother is Golden Globe and Emmy-nominated actress Marion Ross of "Happy Days" iconic fame.

Amy Ferris is an author, screen & television writer, a journalist & editor and above all else- a Menopause survivor. You will know her best from her fabulous- and fabulously funny- book: ‘Marrying George Clooney’.
Amy loves writing about all things women. She champions, supports, encourages and inspires women through her work, and it’s her fervent wish (and prayer) that all women awaken to their greatness: using their lives fully, with passion, compassion, determination, hope, self-fullness, humor, truth, authenticity, power, boldness, kindness and forgiveness. She wants women to forgive themselves for all those old antiquated belief systems that were instilled and engraved in their lives by others who just didn’t know any better- and helping women do this has become her mission.
Amy served on the Board of Directors at Peters Valley Art, Education & Craft Center, and on the Advisory Board of The Women’s Media Center. She is Co-chair of Safe Haven, Inc. – which creates domestic peace for women, children, and men.
She joins us today for a candid chat about Menopause, her life philosophy and how Midlife can be a time of horrific challenge -and great blessing!
