The Centre Ice Hockey Show sits down with the Superior International Junior Hockey League commissioner to discuss what is happening in the SIJHL this coming season in Northwestern Ontario. Listen to us grill Bryan Graham about his new position as the SIJHL commissioner.
Centre Ice Hockey Show is a way to not only air our grievances about the state of hockey, but to constantly speak out in hopes of bringing out the best of the junior hockey world going forward. This show was a small attempt to push fans, coaches, front office, executives, players and media out of their comfort zone, and not just to blindly smile when asked questions.
As with many growing internet trends, we are managing to get noticed, get taken seriously, and to annoy the old-school media elite who feel as though they are entitled to exclusive access.
We have been given a chance to be part of this small history in media and will continue bringing our fans new, truthful and hot hockey topics from Junior Hockey.
Centre Ice Hockey Show with Jay Houslander is a high energy all access hockey talk show. Each week, Houslander will take callers, talk about current hockey topics, and invite active and former players, coaches, executives and general managers to discuss hockey inside and out.
Centre Ice Hockey Show is about the hockey happenings and the insanity that is happening on the ice, in the dressing rooms and the front offices in the hockey world, today!

When we think about investors, we usually think about a room full of guys with money to throw around. We think about the hard ass pitch sessions in which some men (usually from Silicon Valley or Silison Alley) telling you why you're not ready for investment and frowning because you've wasted their time. But the landscape is changing. Yes the pitch meetings are still intense, but more women are entering the picture.
Today, my guest and I discuss what it takes to become an investor, the kind of details they look for, and how the landscape is changing to include women. We'll talk about what you, as an investor should be looking for and introduce Pipeline Fellowship, founded my Natalia Oberti Noguera. .This episode will discuss the closing of Bauder College and the illegal and unethical acts committed by Graham Holdings and Kaplan, Inc. Bauder College is a private, for profit college located in Atlanta, Georgia. It is a division of Graham Holdings ("GHC") and Kaplan, Inc. (Kaplan Higher Education ("KHE"). The closing of Bauder College will not resolve the issues faced by inner city, urban and rural American students, which includes student loan default rates and unemployment. Most of these students will not be accepted by other colleges or universities and many will be left with nowhere to turn. The cost of attending Kaplan University is greater than the attendance at Bauder and the majority of other colleges and universities. Our government has failed these vulnerable populations and sit idle while Kaplan became a billion dollar for profit educational industry who knowingly targeted the most vulnerable population in this country with abusive practices that were used to target inner city, urban and rural poor Americans.
PART 2: IEP and Special Need Students
While the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) is not in effect in higher education and colleges have no legal responsibility to identify students with disabilities, the "Gainful Employment" standards does require colleges to idenitify students unlikely to succeed in college and colleges are prohibited from knowingly enrolling students in their programs under these circumstances. Bauder/Kaplan knowingly and intentionally enrolled students from IEP high school programs, knowing that they lacked the educational, mental, emotional and pyschological means to succeed academically or in the workplace.
What up! Due to a miscommunication, an earlier podcast centering around the 2014 Dallas Cowboys' season was conducted without Dallas-native/Redskins hater/sports grudge holder Jeremy Winters because of a scheduling conflict. However, against his better judgment, Jeremy is back to face the music! Among the topics to be discussed (including some other unforseen stuff):
Will Jerry Jones ever get it?
Why in the hell is Jason Garrett still coaching this team?
Will the defense be worse than last season?
Should the Cowboys have drafted Johnny Manziel?
Will Tony Romo lead this team to the promised land?

Graham Bloem was born in Johannesburg, South Africa and has had an affinity with animals all his life, although his true passion is for dogs. At age five, he immigrated to Toronto, Canada with his family, but enjoyed frequent trips back to South Africa. His experiences in wildlife settings instilled a dream of one day working with animals. From Canada, he immigrated to the United States obtaining US citizenship and he now resides in sunny San Diego, CA with his amazing family (wife Kyrié, two wonderful children, and dogs Lucy and Juno, a Heinz 57-rescue sweetheart and a giant Bernese Mountain Dog).
In 2002 Graham graduated with honors as an Animal Behavior College Certified Dog Trainer (ABCDT).
Over the next ten years, Graham worked as a dog trainer and instructor for a number of shelters, adoption agencies and kennels including his own company West Coast K9. Then, in 2012 Graham started a non-profit “Shelter to Soldier™” (http://specialtydogtraining.com/shelter-to-soldier/), which provides service dogs to military personnel.
The aim is to train service companions for military men and women battling post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and/or other psychological or physical ailments from their service in Iraq, Afghanistan or other active areas. In addition, this program will change the lives of many dogs, rescuing them from their uncertain lives in shelters and instilling in them the meaningful opportunity to become lifetime companions for our struggling service men and women.
