There are many good reasons for setting up an aquarium that tries to simulate the natural habitat of fishes. The foremost is probably from an ecological viewpoint. With the destruction of the tropical rain-forests worldwide it is important to preserve the native surroundings of our fish before they disappear forever.
Tropical fish interacting in their natural waters are completely different than the community set up we are all use to. This leads to the second reason, with all the advances in aquatic technology maintaining such a tank is now easier than ever and obtaining the proper species whether fish or plants is usually not difficult either. Scott is about to head into the field to search for Bigfoot. He's coming to tell us all about the prep, the trip, and the hope for discovery of a very controversial creature. He says: "I had my first experience with Bigfoot in 1972-1973 when two juvenile hairy bipeds peered at me through a glass door. In the Spring of 2009 I made some half hearted “whooping” calls while fishing on a local lake. The calls got the attention of something large, loud, and intimidating. It came to the shore line crashing through the underbrush and breaking limbs. Though the unseen creature never showed itself it did make an audible "hmmph" before walking slowly back into the forest. This peaked my interest in the topic. I began researching Bigfoot/Sasquatch both on public lands and in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.In February of 2011 I joined North American Bigfoot Search (NABS) and I have contributed many hair and saliva samples to the "Ketchum" DNA Project."
It has Californians timing their showers, driving dirty cars and staring at brown lawns and empty swimming pools is a man caused disaster, according to critics, who say the Golden State’s misguided environmental policies allow much needed freshwater to flow straight into the Pacific. The critics say California gets plenty of water to meet its needs, if it were only managed properly.
But the vast majority of the state’s 1,400 dams and reservoirs, in the two massive systems and smaller ones that supply southern California, were built well before the 1980s. Environmentalists have since stopped the construction of water storage and delivery systems through legal and political actions. They have also fought to ensure that captured water is released into streams and the ocean -- rather than the water delivery system -- in order to boost fish populations and dilute the salinity of the delta.
Mark Baird is president of a Water Rights Group in Northern California called Scott Valley Protect Our Water. He is also the leading grassroots advocate and spokesman for The State of Jefferson.
