There are those who seek to land Fortune 500 jobs. Why? Getting a paycheck and getting a fortune 500 job are not synonymous. Why a fortune 500 job? What's your answer?
Get noticed and land a fortune 500 job. Others with as much if not more experience and education as you have seeks the same jobs. All the applications/resumes are there together and the viewer has to select from hundreds if not thousands. Your paperwork must get you noticed. What's your response when you hear you have to get noticed?
To land a fortune 500 job with a high salary you need to distribute a professional resume; be prepared for the interview. You have to network to find people who work if not for the same company in the same industry. Technical and personal skills are the basics.

My fantasy: End poverty in America in 2012, OK. Each Fortune 500 Company hires 60,000 people. Any Workers the companies cannot use are placed with non-profits in the workers communities. This would work across America. Workers would provide needed day care to elderly, disabled and children. Assist teachers in schools. Weatherize, and beautify cities which would in turn lift the spirits across America. We have cities in America today that never fully recovered from the 1980's recession. Because of the failure to recover from the 1980's some areas are experiencing higher unemployment rates today. Poverty ends once wealth, power, and knowledge decide to use their brains, hearts, and courage to benefit America rather than just their Store Houses. Read this 9-8-11 article by Michael Noer.
Patrice Johnson is the owner/principal of Virtual Illustrations, a design consultancy located in Charlotte NC. For the last 14 years, Patrice has used the power of design to develop inspiring creations for clients ranging from small start-ups to Fortune 500 companies. The company specializes in logo development and publication design; but also offers branding, e-marketing, advertising, print collateral, simple website design...and virtually anything else creative that you can think of.
Patrice always had an eye for all things creative - whether it be plating a dish, decorating a home or graphic design. She worked at Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools for 13 years and initially began doing graphic design as an extension of her work there - producing marketing materials for training sessions, etc. She was soon approached by a co-worker who suggested she consider doing graphic design as a business. After giving it some thought, Patrice gave it a try on a part time basis. Later, she went on to open the business full time, after leaving the school system as a process manager in the Superintendent's office in 2005.
