Floyd Mayweather Jr. Rejects $5 Million Penalty For Failed Drug Test

    in Sports

It's has come to the publics attention that Floyd Mayweather has refused to agree to a $5 million penalty if either fighter were to fail a drug test either before or after the May 2nd fight. Manny Pacquaio is the one who requested for this fine to be included in the contract. The problem is that the contract has already been signed by both parties. However, there is a separate agreement that the United States Anti-Doping Agency will be overseeing random blood and urine testing for both fighters, terms for a substantial fine in the event of a dirty test are still being discussed. If neither fighter have anything to hide, thena agreement shouldn't be hard to come by. Even with that said, it should've been included in the original contract to avoid any outside negotiations.

Floyd Mayweather Looks To Match Rocky Marciano By Beating Andre Berto

    in Sports

In what is expected to be the final fight of his illustrious 19-year career, boxing superstar and pound-for-pound king Floyd "Money" Mayweather (48-0, 26 KOs) will put his undefeated record and WBC and WBA Welterweight World Championships on the line against power-punching, two-time welterweight world champion Andre Berto (30-3, 23 KOs) Saturday, Sept. 12 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, live on SHOWTIME PPV (8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT).

Coming off of the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao event, in which Mayweather remained undefeated by taking a unanimous decision victory, Mayweather will test himself against a hard-hitting fighter hungry for his chance to score a historic upset. Mayweather could also make history. If triumphant, he would match the record of the late heavyweight champion Rocky Marciano, who retired in April 1956 with a record of 49-0. Equaling Marciano's record, one of the most hallowed in all of sports, would reaffirm Mayweather's legendary status in the sport and buttress Mayweather's claim as "The Best Ever. Two stellar world championship fights will also be included on the pay-per-view telecast.

    Mayweather-Pacquiao Mayweather TBE No Excuses

    in Sports

In the most anticipated fight of the decade and the most lucrative bout of all-time, two of the generation’s best pound-for-pound fighters settled the score after nearly six years of waiting.

Some questioned whether Mayweather belonged in the same class as some of the best fighters of all-time, including the likes of Muhammad Ali, Sugar Ray Leonard, Marvin Hagler, Thomas Hearns, etc. Mayweather, though, erased all doubt whether that questioned remained with a career-defining victory over Manny Pacquiao on Saturday at MGM Grand in Las Vegas in a match which was as intriguing to watch as it was intriguing to see the inconceivable amounts of money two superstars could earn in one night.
