The Painting Show is a radical talk show that uses animation and film
clips to explore the minds of misunderstood celebrities.
Creators Jeff and Chris have spent the last year working on a show
that explores and challenges guests in a way like never seen before. They
are two very different artists who met and found they shared a similar
interest in the human mind and the many ways that we don't communicate what
is going on inside of our heads. Mental health has become the great taboo
only to be spoken about by professionals and only after a breakdown. The
creators of The Painting Show believe that self-reflection and personal
conversations within our day to day life is possible and when done correctly
is an art form within itself. The Painting Show gives a platform for a guest
to actively see themselves from the outside to see the possible forces
working inside. Chris and Jeff operate within the show as guides within a
dream absorbing information and showing it back to the guest
>decontextualized and open for interpretation.
The show which is in pre-production of the pilot episode has featured
eighties child star Corey Feldman in a proof of concept draft and has Edwin
Aguliar, sixteen year veteran of The Simpsons working on the show as
The Painting Show is currently raising money on Kickstarter.
Author PJ Manney discusses her new techno-thriller (R)evolution with hosts Phil Bowermaster and Stephen Gordon.
Bioengineer Peter Bernhardt has dedicated his life to nanotechnology, the science of manipulating matter on the atomic scale. As the founder of Biogineers, he is on the cusp of revolutionizing brain therapies with microscopic nanorobots that will make certain degenerative diseases a thing of the past. But after his research is stolen by an unknown enemy, seventy thousand people die in Las Vegas in one abominable moment. This catastrophe sets in motion events that will forever change not only his life but also the course of human evolution.
Desperate, Peter turns to an old friend, who introduces him to the Phoenix Club, a cabal of the most powerful men in the world. To make himself more valuable to his new colleagues, Peter infuses his brain with experimental technology, exponentially upgrading his mental prowess and transforming him irrevocably.
As he’s exposed to unimaginable wealth and influence, Peter’s sense of reality begins to unravel. Do the club members want to help him, or do they just want to claim his technology? What will they do to him once they have their prize? And while he’s already evolved beyond mere humanity, is he advanced enough to take on such formidable enemies and win?
PJ Manney is a former chairperson of Humanity+, the author of "Empathy in the Time of Technology: How Storytelling is the Key to Empathy," and a frequent guest host and guest on The World Transformed. She has worked in motion-picture PR at Walt Disney/Touchstone Pictures, story development and production for independent film production companies (Hook, Universal Soldier, It Could Happen to You), and writing for television (Hercules--The Legendary Journeys, Xena: Warrior Princess).

This Monday Graphic Policy Radio goes to the movies to discuss George Miller's Mad Max: Fury Road. 30 years have passed since the last Mad Max movie, but Miller has returned to his apocalyptic world with new leads, in one hell of a movie. Joining us to discuss the film are Steven Attewell and Dirk Lester.
On the show we're excited to discuss not just the visual extravaganza, and practical fx, but also what the film has to say about women in action movies, its handling of sexism and slavery, and the global climate apocalypse.
Steve Attewell – A political & union activist, Steve holds a PhD in History from the University of California, Santa Barbara. He is the founder and writer of Race for the Iron Throne as well as The Realignment Project
Dirk Lester - The world’s 3RD deadliest #ComicbBook geek, film fanatic, political junkie, music nerd, #digital sherpa, #HumanRights activist – and yeah, it is all connected. You can see what Dirk has to say about the film here.
