    UGP #394 If I had A Hammer

    in Politics Conservative

My father used to tell me that to a carpenter all problems could be fixed with a hammer...he changed it up with different craftsmen and tools, but the message was still the same...we tend to become myopic in our viewpoint towards the challenges facing us and our tool bag of solutions are very limited…Tonight we look at the challenges facing us and the possible solutions to them…we have but to try

He shared his testimony of that encounter as a guest of our show. He has stuck with us as our very special co-host of The Sunday Show. Monday through Thursday Chelene and Randy bring you the TRUTH of local, national, and international news events. On Fridays they take you on a musical break from the madness.

On Sundays, we change gears completely. This is a show we dedicate for worship, learning, and praise of our God. So open your Bibles, your hearts, and your minds as we journey together through the Word of God.

Sign up for our newsletter and show updates at www.thewakeupmissionshow.com  You can also request your free copy of Scripture references used in Shawn's teachings. Be sure to submit your questions and prayer requests. We will respond to each and every email. This may take some time depending on the number of emails received so we ask for your patience.

    Pennsylvania Probate Abuse: Genevieve's story

    in Parents

Hosted by Marti Oakley & Debbie Dahmer

    Guest:  Mary Bush

Genevieve Bush lost her husband to a stroke in June 2004, what was to follow his death was nothing she could have ever prepared herself for, although she tried she has now become the victim of guardianship abuse.

In 2005 my mom removed the POA my brothers obtained in 2004 having both parents sign estate plans and wills they wrote and assigned themselves after my father's stroke. Mom sued the brothers for return of monies they moved to themselves in 2007. The brothers disappearing out of our lives after winning the 2007 suit then returned at the end of 2009 filing a lawsuit on both mom and me to obtain guardianship over mom. The court used this petition in its own wish to mend a broken family by awarding guardianship to myself and back to the sons mom removed Through now over seven years of non stop court hearings during which the court in 2011 stripped my mom of all her rights she has now been taken from her home and held in a facility since May 18th without a hearing. The Department of Aging claimed due to conflicts arising in moms care, was in danger and had to be removed from her home.

Since being removed mom has been injured in the facility, she has been diminished, isolated and restricted from walking and even going outside. The Emergency involuntary commitment hearing has been scheduled for August 24th.. There are also other court hearings and filings surrounding this guardianship still active in others courts not yet finalized.

Be a man: The mask we wear and gender intelligence

    in Current Events

Join us today 5:30 CST as we explore the topic of gender intelligence, understanding and respecting differences. I am sure many of us have heard the term be a man or man up but when we say that what are we really saying and how is that message received.....

We will consider questions surrounding gender intelligence, gender expectation and challenges that are created as a result of gender confusion.......

    Questions to consider:

Be a man what is that and how do men react when this idea of manhood is challenge?

Could gender intelligence help reduce violence?

Could gender intelligence be the answer to police brutality and hyper-masculinity?

Have you considered that one of the most dangerous things you can say to a boy is be a man?

Did we see gender dynamics being displayed during the police stop of Sandra Bland?
