Executive Protection and the High Tech World

    in Current Events

Few names are as synonymous with the Technology Security world as Mr. Jack Wiles, co-founder of the Techno Security & Forensic Investigations Conference held for the past 15 years in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
I was invited by Jack to attend this year's conference in June, where I joined 1,400 other attendees from 32 countries.  It was nothing short of spectacular!  Few events provide the level of networking that Jack and his partner have established through this unique conference.
In addition to being a master in Technology Security, Jack is also a graduate of the Executive Protection Institute and has recently published his 5th book titled Low Tech Hacking (available on Amazon).
So join us on Bodyguard Lifestyle as Jack and I have a discussion on the synergy between High Tech Security and Protective Services.

Having been assigned to a specialized team of human trackers, Brittany's career has led her down the back streets of New York City, through international airports and into some of the most elite addresses in the world.
Now employed as a professional bodyguard and private security expert specializing in corporate intelligence and counter-intelligence, Brittany puts her hard-learned skills to work for those in need of a very unique style, epitomizing the term, "You can run, but you cannot hide".

  • RWN Radio – Separation of Church and State: Redefined “Protection”?

    in US Government

There seems to be much debate recently over what precisely the "Establishment Clause" and the "Free Exercise Clause" mean when seen through the filter of "freedom of religion" and "Free Speech".

What were the intentions of our forefathers, and how are politicians and assorted sectarian religious groups attempting to not only redefine these constitutional protections, but also use their interpretations as a means of denying the same freedoms and protections to others, as well as breed hate and discrimination.

On this week's Real World News, we'll be discussing the notion of "Separation of Church and State".

You’re invited to join the heated discussion on Tuesday, September 1, 2015, at 5:30pm PST/8:30pm EST.

The live call-in number to listen and comment is (646)200-3148.  Or listen and join the chatroom here on Blog Talk Radio, or from our website at www.hottopicstalkradio.com/realworldnews.

WOMEN, PROTECTION ORDERS, AND THE REAL COSTS TO VICTIMS

You’ve experienced violence from your partner, and everyone is telling you to get a protection order. Sounds right. The legal aid representative tells you how to proceed, it might help, and it doesn’t cost anything. Or does it?

Two researchers looked at whether getting a protection order had any impact on women’s earnings, and their findings may be a shock. And those findings covered six years of women’s earnings. Free to get a protection order? Think again.

Melanie M. Hughes and Lisa D. Brush join us to look at their research and what it told them about women’s financial picture after getting a protection order. Hughes is Associate Professor of Sociology at the University of Pittsburgh. She uses quantitative approaches to study women’s empowerment, often focusing on groups of women who are particularly marginalized. She is coauthor of Women, Politics, and Power: A Global Perspective (3rd Edition forthcoming with CQ Press). Her research has been published in journals such as American Sociological Review, American Political Science Review, and Social Forces.

Brush is Professor of Sociology and of Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies at the University of Pittsburgh. Her first book was Gender and Governance (Rowman and Littlefield 2003), and her second book was Poverty, Battered Women, and Work in U.S. Public Policy (Oxford University Press 2011). Her current research looks at preventing adolescent relationship abuse and teen dating violence by engaging high school and middle school boys in coached athletic programs to change masculinities.
