The Hay Girls Show from Time Out Lounge

    in Entertainment

Jeff Gonzales was raised in Phoenix's East Valley, writing songs for his first band The Dirt Bike Kids at 15. He then served as bassist/vocalist of Tempe's Loud Americans, with the late Marco Holt. In 2005, he joined psychedelic pop band Skybox, relocating with them to Chicago. During this time he began to write and perform as a solo artist, embracing more traditional folk and country music in his songwriting, and testing his songs out at the El train stops in the Windy City. Gonzales later returned to Arizona and recorded his solo debut, The Lights Just Went Out..., which he produced with Aaron Ott. The 6-song EP earned him high praise, including Songwriter of the Year honors from YabYum Music & Arts. A new record is currently in the works, with the single The Robin & Birch Tree to precede the new record, sometime in 2015.

D.G. Scherrer is a singer-songwriter and award-winning poet from Phoenix, AZ. He began writing and singing songs when he was twelve years old, as the front man for a junior high school punk band. Since then he has become something of a songwriter's songwriter, crafting dark, catchy, lyrically sophisticated tunes in the tradition of Leonard Cohen and Townes Van Zandt. Still, the bite and immediacy of punk remains apparent in his songs, as well as in the sheer volume of his voice when he roars a chorus. Scherrer draws heavily on older American music forms, particularly blues, gospel and country.

Christmas- A Time Of Love And Giving

    in Music

Christmas- A time for all the bows anf trims, eggnog, and toys and Caroling and things, but what it really means exceeds the beauty that all eye can see. It's that time of year again. December has come and with it all the joys of Christmas. But what is the real meaning of Christmas? Is it the gifts under the tree, the lights in the windows, the cards in the mail, turkey dinners with family and friends, snow in the yard, stockings hanging in the living room, and shouts of "Merry Christmas" to those who pass us in the streets? Is this really Christmas?

Come join us tonight and tell us what Christmas means to you! I'll tell you what it means to me while I decorate my tree ;-)...

    Let's talk...God is not Religious-The Sinner's Prayer Gospel-Episode 5

    in Christianity

This series will address the error and danger associated with the all-pervasive embracing of a non-scriptural and casually committed to version of the gospel.  A modern phenonmenon, that is deceiving people into believing that they have received and are assured of an eternally secure salvation without the true surrender, commitment and passion required by Christ and the original leaders of the Church, according to scripture.  This has in fact, metamorphosed into another gospel completely, a false gospel.  The controversial and consequential issues of the sinner's prayer, born again and centrality of personal relationship with the Holy Spirit are dealt with extensively.

The message of the series is that we must honestly examine and make sure that the modern gospel that is being offered wholesale and indiscriminately to all with less and less scrutiny and cost to the recipient is the truth and really procures salvation. This is so crucial, as we enter into the era of the "great delusion" that scripture warns us about which will appear in the very last days.  The deception is said to be so strong, that if it were possible, even God's elect would be deceived!  This series brings a fresh analysis to the true relationship and commitment that Christ offers and demands of those whom He calls.  Inviting the listener into a vibrant, personally rewarding and powerful relationship with the Loving Christ through the Person of the Holy Spirit.

This message is life and death to a generation that is so scripturally ignorant and lacks the experience and foundation of traditional, biblical faith while being equally bombarded with so many erroneous and dangerous teachings, cleverly cloaked in mixtures of secular, esoteric and dangerous doctrines of demons passing for contemporary spirtuality and all embracing, unprejudiced Christian faith.

    2014 Energy Releasing

    in Spirituality

2014 was not the best year ever in my world.  It was one of those years that had a lot of painful soul growth experiences. Have I become stronger because of it?  YES.    Do I have regrets? NO.

I am aware that I am here as a soul on this planet at this time to experience, even when those experiences suck.   Thankfully,  the good experiences help balance the ones that are not so good.

So, with all the ups and downs that 2014 brought to all of us, lets bless and release the energies of 2014 to clear the space for 2015.

How? I will teach you how to  Write a Soul Letter.    I challenge all of you to do this, if you feel inclined.   I am burning mine on December 31st  because that feels right to me personally.

Take your time and edit this letter for yourself until you feel that energetic click ( like a puzzle piece going in the correct spot)  to know it is done.
