"We See, We Talk, We Fail: The Bystander Effect In Black America"

    in Lifestyle

SPONSORED BY THINK FREE BE FREE COACHING & CONSULTING, LLC-Inspired by Live Skilled Live Fulfilled video series' "The Bystander Effect", hosted by Joseph Ward--tonight's discussion focuses on two articles: one that tells of singer Elton John's decision to boycott posh fashion designers Dolce & Gabbana in reaction to inflammatory comments they made about same-sex parents and children who are born to alternative methods--(in-vitro, surogacy, etc.). The other article focuses on the brutal beating of a 15-yr-old girl in a McDonald's in Brooklyn, NY...in which the brutal gang-beating was captured by a myriad of video-recording bystanders who did nothing to stop the fight or help the injured teen. Join us tonight as we talk with guest speaker Joseph Ward live in the studio on the effects of the Bystander Effect on Black America and society on a whole. • Meet Josey Milner

    in Radio

    Official website http://joseymilnermusic.com/home.html
    Spokesperson for www.angelsanddoves.com

Josey Milner is part small town teen, part road-worthy country starlet, and she turned heads and changed hearts with he...r debut US single, “Not Pretty Enough.” The song thrust Josey into the country music spotlight, launching her anti-bullying campaign with Angels and Doves, earning her a 2013 Independent Country Music Award nomination for Promising Young Artist, a Top 10 Hottest New Artist designation, and a Number One single on the world’s first independent country music chart, Indie World. Now, Josey has taken her initial successes to greater heights with “Cowgirls.”
“Cowgirls” was recorded at Awestruck Studios with her “Not Pretty Enough” production team of Micah Burdick and Matthew Russo (Hall and Oates.) Mastering engineer, Larry Gann (John Rich, Elton John) also played drums on the track, with Jimmy Mattingly (Dolly Parton, Reba, Garth) on fiddle and Smith Curry (Jason Aldean, Randy Travis) on pedal steel. The single was released to country radio in November 2013, and it reached #1 on the New Music Weekly country charts and Top 75 on Music Row! “Cowgirls” is a boot-kicking, foot stomping dance anthem that has country radio fans singing along with this down-home darling…

    Melanie Amaro live MRTR

    in Pop Culture

    Celebrating Over 150 Episodes!

Hosts: Jamel, Derrick Dwayne and Flash Gotti

#MyRealTalkRadio interviews Singer/Songwriter & The X Factor USA season 1 Winner: Melanie Amaro.

The winner of the first season of The X Factor USA, Melanie Amaro drew comparisons to classic R&B divas such as Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston. Born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and raised by her grandparents in the British Virgin Islands along with her two brothers and sister, Amaro grew up singing at home as well as at church, weddings, and other occasions, but never entered any talent competitions until her mother encouraged her to try out for The X Factor. Amaro sang Beyoncé's "Listen" for judges Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul (both formerly of American Idol), solo artist and former cat Doll Nicole Scherzinger, and producer L.A. Reid at the BankUnited Center in Coral Gables, Florida. She was chosen as one of the 32 finalists and sang Michael Jackson's "Will You Be There" for Cowell, who selected her as one of his singers to mentor for the season. When she didn't make the cut for the 16 finalists, Cowell decided he'd made a mistake and she became the show's 17th finalist. Amaro did well during the season, becoming one of the final three singers along with Chris Rene and Josh Krajcik; on the final episode in December 2011, she was named the show's winner, earning $1 million for herself as well as a $4 million contract with Epic Records. She also appeared in a Pepsi commercial with Elton John that aired during Super Bowl XLVI. Amaro's debut album, Truly..., featuring the single "Don't Fail Me Now,"  Melanie is currently in the studio working on a solo album which is set for release in the fall 2014.

John Carver Show - More Than Enough

    in Self Help

Today's show is called "More than Enough."  In the show I attempt to paint a picture that you have more capacity and opportunity than you can imagine.  It's from a sermon I shared by the same title.  Some of what you will hear includes:

I think, sometimes, people believe God runs empty!  God wants us to take ownership of the power that we have in God!

“There was a man who was cleaning up his desk one Friday afternoon when he noticed an envelope that had been opened. Someone must have placed it there while he was on the phone. He opened it and read it, and to his shock and dismay it was a notice of being terminated, being laid-off from his job. His entire department was being eliminated along with his position. After all the years he had given to his corporation, he found himself filled with resentment and the sense of being victimized. The man sat slumped in his chair in utter despair.

He began to think of all the terrible things that were going to happen to him. His entire lifestyle would have to be altered. He thought, "I'll have to sell my house; I'm too old to get another job; I'm useless; I'm all washed up."

At that moment, the man noticed a spider on his desk, and without thinking he brushed it off. He was amazed though as he watched as the tiny creature automatically spin a strand to bear its weight and swing gracefully to the floor.....

DON'T MISS THE LAST FEW MINUTES OF THE SHOW.  I SHARE A POWERFUL SCENE FROM THE MOVIE "FACING THE GIANTS" WHEN A YOUNG MAN IN CRAWLING ON A FOOTBALL FIELD WITH HIS COACH TELLING HIM NOT TO QUIT.
