    DuEwa Frazier, Gifted Poet, Puts Us in the Middle

    DuEwa Frazier, a writer, author, educator, and award-nominated poet was born in Brooklyn, New York and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. The author of the newly released young adult novel, Deanne in the Middle (2014), DuEwa is also the author of Goddess Under the Bridge: Poems(2013), Ten Marbles and a Bag to Put Them In: Poems for Children (2010), Stardust Tracks on a Road (2005), and Shedding Light From My Journeys (2002). She is the editor/publisher of the NAACP Image Award nominated (in Outstanding Literary Work, Poetry) anthology, Check the Rhyme: An Anthology of Female Poets and Emcees (July 2006), featuring the work of 50 internationally and nationally known women poets.

    Check the Rhyme also received nominations from Writers Digest Publishing Award and African American Literary Award Show. She founded Lit Noire Publishing in 2002 and has produced numerous literary and performance events featuring poets, authors, and musicians across New York City,Baltimore, Atlanta, Berkeley, and Philadelphia.

    DuEwa has been called a “gifted” poet.  Her poetry has been published in Essence Magazine, Reverie Journal, Kweli Journal, Tidal Basin Review, Poetry In Performance, Drumvoices Revue, Black Arts Quarterly, X Magazine and other publications. In 2005 she featured in the documentary film “Rhyme and Reason.”

    Writer, poet, and educator DuEwa Frazier draws from her life as a writer, work with youth as an educator and perspective as a woman who grew up learning from people of diverse backgrounds and cultures.

          Jacob Sylvester is a guitarist, vocalist, writer, and educator who has been sharing his talents in and around the Washington, DC Metropolitan area for many years.     DuEwa Frazier is a poet, writer, performance artist, speaker, educator and cultural organizer from St. Louis. She is the author of two published volumes of poetry: Shedding Light From My Journeys (2002) and Stardust Tracks on a Road (2005). DuEwa is the Founder and CEO of Lit Noire Publishing, a creative arts and publishing organization. She is the editor and publisher of the NAACP Image Award nominated anthology, CHECK THE RHYME: AN ANTHOLOGY OF FEMALE POETS & EMCEES.     Part 2 - Interview with Mack Williams, Author & Screenwriter

    Mack Charles Williams is a writer, musician, and composer who resides in Rahway, N.J.

    His film, Rich From Within (an adaptation of his originally-written musical play), premiered at the Action On Film Festival in Long Beach, CA in July, 2007, where it was one of the nominees for Best Screenplay.  His second film, Your Roommate, won the Best Feature Film award at the PhilaFilm festival in 2013, the same year that his next film, For Old Times’ Sake, premiered at the inaugural Churches Making Movies film festival in Clark, N.J. He is the creator, screenwriter and composer for a new TV sitcom entitled Higher Ground, as well as screenwriter for several episodes of the web-based sitcom, Thug Kidz, produced and directed by Kenya Cagle & CaglevisionMultimedia Enterprises.   

    Mack is the editor of his mother's critically acclaimed memoir, "WWII Diary," as well as the author of the forthcoming children's book, "Jackie Robinson and the Negro Leagues." His blogs have been featured on various sites for years (currently The SEVEN at the7blog.wordpress.com), and became  the basis of his first two books:  "Voices From The Blue States" and "Sportin' Life: Essays On Sport and Life."  Additionally, he has combined his varied interests by producing political radio commercials and PSAs for progressive candidates and causes.
