There are a number of pieces that attribute to a good pass defense, but having good secondary play is essential. The Green Bay Packers addressed a need by drafting two young cornerbacks, Damarious Randall and Quinten Rollins. Both played meaningful minutes throughout the year. They joined a veteran group with Sam Shields, Micah Hyde, Morgan Burnett, and Ha Ha Clinton-Dix.
The Packers pass defense finished the year allowing 227.6 yards per game which ranked sixth in the league. They finished ninth in the league with 16 interceptions. The 72 passes defensed ranked 16th.
After a solid year, the one memory that many Packer fans will have is Sam Shields breaking on a Carson Palmer pass that would have been an interception and possibly a pick six, but the ball fell harmlessly to the ground. In overtime, a broken play left Larry Fitzgerald wide open as he scampered downfield.
This young secondary should only improve in the upcoming years.
Tonight PWR SLAM! gives the entire night to the benefit for the school district in Delevan,Il this Saturday. The show is a cooperative effort between IWA Midwest and Midwest Impact Pro Wrestling. The card will be loaded with talent and will have three special guests. While we may be joined by others, these are the people we have confirmed for tonight;
Brian Thompson: Brian has worked as a ring announcer, manager, promoter and agent. This is his first time with us and we may employ his announcer skills to introduce our other guests.
Gavin Alexander: Gavin is no stranger to our show having made several appearances. He is part of the Impact group and we will discuss who his representatives will be for the event.
Crazy Luke Graham Jr.: He claims to be the son of the legendary star, however, due to the fact that birth records were destroyed in a fire at the asylum, we can't be sure. What we do know is this guy has legitimate grappling skills along with a mouth that won't stop running. We just hope to get a word in edgewise.
Beautiful Bobby Eaton: The name alone says it all. This legendary star is one of the most decorated tag team wrestlers of all time. As the consistent half of the famous Midnight Express, first with Loverboy Dennis Condrey, then with Sweet Stan Lane, but always with Jim Cornette, The Midnight Express won numerous NWA World and United States tag team titles. The Express wrestled The Road Warriors in the classic "Night Of The Skywalkers" scaffold match in Chicago which saw Cornette break both arms.
We will not promise that there will be time for listener questions, however, we encourage your participation in our chat room. Should we offer a question period, you may call via Skype or at (347) 826-9418. All calls will be screened. Steve, Katie and Sean hope you will enjoy the show.
