When It's Time to Stop - MomBiz Solutions Show for Mom Entrepreneurs

    in Entrepreneur

Whiile I love coaching my clients, all good things must come to an end. On today's show I'm going to share two completely different scenarios in which stopping coaching (or stopping some other things you're committed to) is the right thing to do.

Lara offers business coaching along with mothering tips, small business marketing strategies, and funny stories about the joys and chaos of being a mom entrepreneur. If you could use a little inspiration, or a guide from a mom entrepreneur who's "been there, done that," or if you just want to hear from a woman who has learned to laugh off her mistakes and accept her life as perfect (just the way it is), you'll want to tune in every week.

Lara is an author, speaker and business coach. Hire her when you need the clarity and confidence to make big decisions and changes in your life or business, or have her speak to your group. Learn more at www.LaraGalloway.com or www.MomBizCoach.com. Grab a copy of her book, Moms Mean Business: A Guide to Creating a Successful Company and a Happy Life as a Mom Entrepreneur, just published by Career Press at www.MomsMeanBusinessBook.com.

power of perception writers with April Erwin

    in Spirituality

“Dream big, be bold, no fear! April Erwin is the author of suspenseful and humorous inspirational contemporary stories that reflect her faith and life motto. A lifelong resident of Independence, MO, April loves living in her hometown. Raised in the Gospel, she's thrilled to achieve her dream to become a writer and use that to witness of her Christian faith. She holds an Associate in Graphological Science, the study of handwriting analysis, tutors dyslexic and reading challenged individuals, enjoys photography, is a singer/songwriter and records original music with her sister, Angel. Also the author of Dysfunction Junction and Missing Pieces, Justice Burning is her third published novel.”
Music has been an integral part of my life forever. I started singing in an A cappella trio called, The Erwins, with my mom and sister when I was about 11. I began writing songs in 2001, when Angel and I joined and recorded our first two original songs. "Free to Fly" and "Rain on Me".
I started writing my first "book" about bunnies in First grade. In the Fifth grade and I filled 3 notebooks by hand telling a suspense story. My Senior year in high school I saw a scene in my mind of a young woman in an attic exploring a trunk that had been left to her as part of an inheritance. At first it was just the scene, but soon it expanded and after several years of writing classes, I published Missing Pieces. It was adapted as a school play by my high school Alma Mater where the story was first born.
Dysfunction Junction was my second book about a Romantic Comedy about a young songwriter looking for love.
After high school I worked full time and took classes that intrigued me. Writing, photography,  & graphology to name a few.

Under God stays, again - Guns kill - Guns save!

    in Politics

Hr1   For the 5th time in a row, The Becket Fund successfully defends "under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance. Religious freedom lives on, for now.

Controversy over a gun image planned fallen soldier memorial. Really?

Mom says teenage son unfairly accused after beating, robbing, raping woman at gunpoint. Really? What would've been fair?

Muslim migrants travelling from Libya to Italy threw 12 fellow Christian passengers overboard to drown. No, there's no war on Christians.

HR2   Auto shop owner said he's going to run his shop the way his faith teaches him, and will deny service to openly gay patrons. He's also going to give a discount to those who bring their guns.

Is Whataburger transphobic? They say the student's clothing was too revealing. There's a big difference between thigh high stockings and garters vs. yoga pants! There is still such a thing as indecent exposure. And restaurants can still have a dress code. It isn't always about gender and/or sexual preference.

When it comes to education, every child on campus should feel safe. You can't guarantee they won't be bullied or made fun of. But you can continually work to improve the environment for children.

The first reality show about swingers, has been canceled. The lifestyle wasn’t easy to lead, and it wasn’t easy to sell. The general consensus was... it was just plain hard to watch. Thank GOD!

Hr3   Mom goes to San Diego for the day and leaves her 4 year-old daughter home alone to fend for herself. Her defense? Well, they do it in China. Well, lady, welcome to the USA. Here, we call that a felony.

We think we're having peace talks with Iran, while the Ayatollah is chanting death to America. Wake Up!

Robert McNally shares his life lessons

    in Lifestyle

Author Robert McNally shares his life lessons. Reminiscing about the "good 'ol days” can drum up some interesting memories of days gone by, a simpler time when the biggest concern children had was how many minutes they could play outside until Mom and Dad noticed the streetlights were on.  After all, that was the universal signal that it was time to hightail it into the house.  Author Robert McNally's hilarious recollection of his childhood memories, in The Memoir of a Boy on His Dangerous Journey trilogy is reminiscent of Huck Finn.

The trilogy includes two volumes to-date:  I Had Jelly on My Nose and A Hole in My Breeches (vol. 1), Sister Superior's Thumb, the Pope's Ring and the End of Childhood (vol. 2), and the final book in the trilogy is currently being penned.

I Had Jelly on My Nose and A Hole in My Breeches (vol. 1) highlights McNally's childhood during WWII and the Great Depression when he grew up near a crematory and a jail. This wide-eyed, young boy's inner circle included members of his family, inmates of the county jail, and his best friend Rosemary. In his surroundings were gypsies, beggars and hobos.

The second volume of the trilogy, Sister Superior's Thumb, the Pope's Ring and the End of Childhood, continues on with McNally's adventures as he enters adolescence.  One day he picked himself up and walked out of school and did not return. Three months later he was registered in a different one.

Robert McNally writes about his life's adventures growing up in Ridgewood and Middle Village, NY, at the coaxing of friends and family.  Insurance auditor, turned writer, McNally now resides in New York with his wife.

Mom and SLP both are using ideas from my books Building Verbal Imitation in Toddlers and Teach Me To Talk: The Therapy Manual during speech therapy and at home.
