    Dems Trash CIA

    in Politics Conservative

Breaking news:  Despite all logic, rational thought and basic human decency, Senate Democrats, led by California’s DiFi released their bogus report on the CIA’s enhanced interrogation program.  Army Colonel Gilberto Villahermosa (Ret), foreign policy expert, weighs in on the consequences of the Senate’s ill-advised decision.

John Warren, author of The Financial Rescue Plan for Nonprofits provides his expertise to help Tea Party and other not for profit organizations survive and thrive in this difficult financial climate.

THE NEW POLITICS OF THE INTERNET: EVERYTHING IS CONNECTED

    in Legal

CAN INTERNET ACTIVISIM TURN INTO A REAL POLITICAL MOVEMENT?

WHEN dozens of countries refused to sign a new global treaty on internet governance in late 2012, a wide range of activists rejoiced. They saw the treaty, crafted under the auspices of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), as giving governments pernicious powers to meddle with and censor the internet. For months groups with names like Access Now and Fight for the Future had campaigned against the treaty. Their lobbying was sometimes hyperbolic. But it was also part of the reason the treaty was rejected by many countries, including America, and thus in effect rendered void.

The success at the ITU conference in Dubai capped a big year for online activists. In January they helped defeat Hollywood-sponsored anti-piracy legislation, best known by the acronym SOPA, in America’s Congress. A month later, in Europe, they took on ACTA, an obscure international treaty which, in seeking to enforce intellectual-property rights, paid little heed to free speech and privacy. In Brazil they got closer than many would have believed possible to securing a ground-breaking internet bill of rights, the “Marco Civil da Internet”. In Pakistan they helped to delay, perhaps permanently, plans for a national firewall, and in the Philippines they campaigned against a cybercrime law the Supreme Court later put on hold.

    THE NEW GREEN

Debate and dissent over the issues raised by the spread of information technology are not new. In the 1990s civil-liberties groups, including the pioneering Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF), campaigned against the Communications Decency Act, part of which was eventually overturned by America’s Supreme Court.

Woman Walks Around NYC Getting Catcalled Over 100 Times!

    in Women

Being a man who works with the public everyday driving the public transportation bus here in Orlando Florida, I can sympathize with the frustrations that many women feel after being harassed all day long by the carnal minded men who approach these women with lustful intentions.

While I'm not saying that there aren't the countless women out here in existence who purposely seek out this type of attention for personal gain, I am specifically speaking about those women who are decently dressed and obviously on their way in their day to get something of note accomplished.

Men can tell the difference between a woman who has nothing else but games on her mind as opposed to one who really has no time to waste that is really trying to get somewhere in life.

It is these women that I feel for who have to deal with the constant advances from men who really have nothing to offer to their lives except a whole lot of drama, frustration, pain and regrets.

I often see it day in and day out as I drive through the city of Orlando, but this behavior is not new and not only happening here as it's a worldwide phenomenon.

Most men who do not see the world from the positioning that I have will never understand, this is why I was so overjoyed and somewhat tickled to see this video showing a very attractive woman walking through the streets of New York City for 10 hours showing what too many women have to go through in the course of a day.

The woman in this particular video - actress Shoshana Roberts - braved the NYC jungle as a man walked a few feet in front of her with a backpack that contained the hidden camera that recorded these men acting out in rare form.

Your thoughts, opinions and comments will be much appreciated as I would love for the discussion on this age old topic to continue!

Fuck Facebook! Right-wing politics, social media & the death of free speech

    in Politics Progressive

American Vernacular takes aim at the hypocrisy of Facebook and its less-than-rightful owner, Mark Zuckerberg, the company's support of right-wing social and political agendas, its insidious suppression of 1st amendment rights according to its code of decency and outsourced content control, and why Facebook has become the most sophisticated weapon for the killing free speech and expression in American politics while dismantling the fundamental ideals of the US Constitution. Can money be allowed to buy that?

This is your chance to challenge the idea and meaning of social media and why the timing might be perfect for Google+ to become serious competition for those seeking an alternative for social and political expression. Tune in and join the conversation at (619) 768-2924.

The new normal...you don't like it then kill it, punch it, destroy it, whatever.

    in Current Events

It so nice to see that the answer to all of our problems was always so simple...kick its ass, blow it up, bomb it, lop its head off or just puch its lights out; it's OK!  Conservatives want to put boots on the ground everywhere (where do they get all these boots?), the NFL finds steroids and pot worse than assault on a female and ISIS, where losing your head is no longer figurative, but literal.  Its nice to know that all of the world's problems can be solved by just destrying everything around it, including it.  And technology takes destruction to a new level; who says progress isn't good, look how good we'ver become at destruction.

Searching for the Castle-Backtrailof an Adoption-Barbara Ohrstrom

    in Family

Join us Friday September 19th@ 10:00 EDT as Pam Kroskie interviews Barbara Ohrstrom

Like cowboys turning in the saddle to look at where they came from, Searching for the Castle documents the backtrail of author Barbara Leigh Ohrstrom’s adoption. It begins with her urgency as an eighteen-year-old woman initiating her search for her birth parents. Her recollection includes court petitions, letters, Division of Social Service documents, and other original documents usually buried behind the lock and key of the law.

In this memoir, she narrates the unearthing of her history and that of her family. Some of her discoveries are filled with pain, while others are joyful, including locating sisters, another brother, and eventually nieces and a nephew. A story of how one woman comes to terms with her identity, Searching for the Castle tells of real people doing the best they can to live and love in the often heartbreaking circumstances of life.

As Ohrstrom shares her journey to find her birth parents, she reveals her emotions throughout the process, discovering that her identity is self-created, but also that her being is governed, in part, by her ancestors and family lines. Searching for the Castle communicates the message that love creates families and that the family to which Ohrstrom belonged in foster care gave her a mother, father, and family filled with love and decency.

ISIS/ISIL (?) and the NFL...Which is run by a bigger knucklehead? You decide.

    in Current Events

The host of sevsdeadserious has found himself once again in a quandry over the recent events involving organizations that are totally out of control, running rampant over any sense of decency and honesty while standing in sanctimonious reflection on all that you have done and shoveling billions of dollars in revenues for your leadership and turning your foot soldiers into cannon fodder with little regard for the future...and ISIS/ISIL (?) is no better.  Neither organization can see beyond their own tilted message, deal with the reality of the ever changing dynamics of the human condition and get your collective heads out of your asses...and yes I'm talking to Roger Goodell and the bearded wonders leading the most recent incarnation of "blow up the infidel American pigs".  Why can't we all just get along?  More fun to fuck each other up!

Mr. Obama, don't let your own psychology interfere with message you send ISIS

    in Politics Conservative

    TONIGHT!

On the Dr C Robert Jones Galt Report

Mr. President, I know this consult is uninvited. But, Wednesday you will address the nation about the threat ISIS poses to the world.

You must not let your own psychology interfere with the message you send to our mortal enemies.

I believe you feel ambivalent about the decency of America.  But if you let that ambivalence be known by ISIS, they will be emboldened.

As he has grown weary of Washington, Barack Obama has shed parts of his presidency, like drying petals falling off a rose.
