It was the city of dreams however with dreams there are nightmares. We had the largest race riot in the history of the United States. 1921:The summer where blood ran in the streets In 1921 there in the streets of Tulsa's renown Greenwood District otherwise known nationally as Black Wall Street, lay African American men drawing their last breath . It is now 2015 in Tulsa and in that same renown former Black Wall street area known as the Greenwood District, I must report , I must educate the public that STILL yet African American men lay dead in the streets . They are told by Tulsa's finest , a Tulsa Deputy commanded to serve and protect its citizens this: "F#&^k your breath ". Eric Harris heard this as one of the last statements spoken to him . He had been shot in his back while laying on his stomach in the Greenwood streets of Tulsa by reserve deputy Robert Bates aged 73. It is 2015 not 1921. This is not a made for TV production. This is everyday reality for minorites residing in Tulsa County in the great state of Oklahoma. We The People Of Oklahoma is a grass roots group dedicated and organzied to protect the citizens of Oklahoma including Tulsa. Why should this matter to you ? Because this group is effecting culteral change within the legal system and society. What they are doing in Tulsa can be studied and duplicated in other areas. We the People of Oklahma has gone before a judge to plead their case ; to attain a petition for a grand jury investigation into the Sheriff's department & Tulsa's Sheriff Larry Glanz investigated. Samiyyah Saafir-Muhammad was born Jacqueline Glover in New York City in 1951. After spending her early years in foster care, moving four times before the age of three, she settled in with her aunt, following her father’s passing.
While still in elementary school Samiyyah took an interest in helping other students do well, joining “The Future Teachers’ Club” in the fifth grade. As a high school student, Samiyyah became aware her people’s struggle for freedom—witnessing civil rights demonstrations, protests, assassinations and riots—and decided she wanted to help somehow. It was in this atmosphere that she went off to Northeastern University in Boston where she majored in Education. Her stay there was short-lived, however, as she was introduced to the teachings of The Honorable Elijah Muhammad and thereafter joined the Nation of Islam. Within the Nation of Islam’s Muhammad University, Samiyyah underwent educational training and worked as a teacher’s assistant.
Since 2005, Samiyyah has had the privilege of serving as the Directress at Muhammad University of Islam in Atlanta, which serves students from Pre-K to the eighth grade. She has been blessed to carry on the 84-year educational tradition, which was started by the Honorable Elijah Muhammad and his brave followers in the 1930’s.
A widow after 35 years of marriage, Samiyyah presently enjoys the blessing of her and her husband’s nine children: six sons and three daughters, all of whom attended or are attending HBCUs. Samiyyah has been a mother to not only her nine children, but also to her two stepchildren, her nieces and nephews, her eight grandchildren and countless other children and adults in the community who come to her for advice, wisdom and guidance. Affectionately called MamaMiyyah, Samiyyah’s house is never empty.

Dan Blanchard the Award Winning Author, Speaker, Educator two-time Junior Olympian Wrestler, and two-time Junior Olympian Wrestling Coach grew up as a student-athlete. Host Faith Chatham presents special guest Texas Radio Hall of Fame broadcaster Tony Bridge, Jr. and newspaper woman, author, civil rights activist and former radio station news director Gail K. Beil. We'll look back over the past 60 years of media and compare it with today. Mr. Tony Bridge, Jr. acquired ownership of an AM/FM station in the East Texas market in the 1950s. Faith and Gail met in the early 1970s while employed at a Harte Hanks Communication daily newspaper in that same market. Together Gail and Faith have worked for at least 5 national newspaper chains. Tony experiences extends far beyond his local station. Faith has owned and operated creative shops, independent "full-serviice" advertising agencies and marketing companies, and served as media consultant for DFW based Fortune 500 Companies. At one time Gail was the News Director at a Radio Station in Marshall, Texas in competition with Tony Bridge's station. Gail has done advance work for Bill Moyers, covered environmental, political, education and historical beats. She is best known as the biographer of James Farmer, Jr. and was recently awarded the Denzel Washington Team Support Award for her service to the Wiley Great Debaters. This will be a live show. When these three old friends get together, the conversation is usually brisk, informative, unpredictable, and humorous!
