    in Business

Dr. Angela Tran is Board-Certified in Internal Medicine and Obesity Medicine and is an active member of the Obesity Medicine Association. She has practiced in primary care since 2007, and recognized that obesity was often the root cause of many chronic medical conditions that she saw in her office including diabetes and high blood pressure. Because of her internal Medicine background, she has a greater understanding of the medical complexities that often serve as barriers to weight loss. She has seen the many struggles her patients have had with their weight, and therefore she has now dedicated her practice solely on weight management.

At Med-Fit, the primary focus is to teach patients and their families about healthy living through a variety of medically supervised diet and fitness programs.

Heart Of Iowa: Keeping Families Together Durring Substance Abuse Treament

    in Non-Profit

Iowa Family Preservation Project Talk Radio 7-9pm

Tonight we will be talking about the Area Substance Abuse Council's Heart of Iowa Program and the need for more Iowa programs that keep families together & kids out of foster care. Iowa DHS currently spends most of the $ it gets to separate families rather than investing in family preservation. The current system is causing children & parents to develop attachment-trauma pathology.

Heart of Iowa is a unique program for women with children so they can stay together. It houses them while the mothers participate in a 90 day treatment program

We are expecting a special guest who just graduated the program to call in.

    The Michael Cutler Hour

    in Politics

    Happy Friday!

On April 19, 2016 the House Subcommittee on Immigration and Border Security conducted a hearing on the topic, “The Real Victims of a Reckless and Lawless Immigration Policy: Families and Survivors Speak Out on the Real Cost of This Administration’s Policies.” That hearing served as the predication for two of my most recent articles.

On April 25th FrontPage Magazine published my article, “President Obama: Accessory to the Crimes Committed By Illegal Aliens?- The grim findings unveiled by a House congressional hearing.”

Today, April 29 Californians for Population (CAPS) posted my article, “The Real Cost of the Administration’s Reckless, Lawless Immigration Policies.”

There is nothing “compassionate” about not securing our borders and not enforcing our immigration laws from within the interior of the United States. Our borders and immigration laws are our first and last defense against our adversaries including transnational criminals and international terrorists.

Anita Hill, "Confirmation" Hearings, Escaping Abuse, Power of Thoughtful Calm

    in Self Help

Inspired by the HBO movie "Confirmation" today we discuss physical abuse, sexual abuse, abuse of power and the necessity to escape abuse with a savvy, strategic self-preserving plan and assistance.   Anita Hill as portrayed in "Confirmation" by actress Kerry Washington, known for her staring role in Scandal, images a calm, educated, self-aware, gracious and savvy woman who greeted the unwanted sexual conversations from Justice Clarence Thomas with rationale and social awareness.  Anita Hill's bravery and straight-forward discussion of the events led to an increased awareness that women are to be treated with respect in all domains of life, work, home, and in media.  This pertinent discussion casts its shadows on the current signs of misogyny embedded in the antagonistic attacks by Donald Trump on women in general and public figures in particular when he freely and openly ridicules women for their intelligence, beauty co-efficients, qualifications, training, education and experience.  He unwarrantedly and openly attacks professionals including highly educated, experienced and knowledgeable individuals like Hillary Clinton.  This is not about politics but about equality of male and female expressions of respect and what role women play in that on-going, and improving dialogue about overt, violent and covert forms of abuse.

Dr. Carol Francis has worked with abuse in marriages, work place and families for over 38 years.  She is a licensed Clinical Psychologist, Marriage, Family and Child Therapist, Certified Hypnotherapist.
