Food Nation Food Talk Radio EP #33 Fast Food Talk

Fast food are two bad words now a days. There are the ones that shame people and then others openly eat it and others hide in shame and are closet eaters. It is what it is and always seem to be at the fore front of top food news talk on the radio and on tv. Tech Rob and Chef Shawn are ok with the fast food business and enjoy some of their menu items. Love it or hate it you usually have something to say about it either way. Pull up a seat to the Chef's table and let's get this talk started. Maybe a Chef's fast food recipe or two, food articles and what ever we decide to bring up to the drive thru. Super size us and join in, we might even let you steal a few golden hot, salty, delicious, golden, fry sticks from the fast food gods off of our trays. See you all soon. We celebrate food with you! Oh by the way bring extra napkins.

Cooking Oils - The Good, The Bad & The Really Unhealthy

    in Nutrition

Unlike traditional fats (butter, ghee, tallow, lard, olive oil, etc.) our industrial vegetable oils are a very new addition to the “food” world. In fact, they were practically non-existent until the early 1900s. But with the invention of certain chemical processes and a need for “cheap” fat substitutions, the world of fat hasn’t been the same since.

In this episode, Dr. Budweiser, owner and founder of Weiser Living, will be talking about how today's highly processed vegetable oils are bad for our health and how we should be looking to our recent ancestors for the answer.

Some of the topics covered will be:

How & Why Vegetable Oils Entered Our Food Supply
The Chemical Processing of Vegetable Oils
PUFAs, MUFAs & SFAs - Why Are Their Correct Ratios Important?
What The Heck Is a Canola?
    Stay Away From These Oils!
Which Oils & Fats Should You Use Instead
    The Great Olive Oil Scam

    ... and much, much more!

So oil up and slip into yet another eye opening 30 minutes with Dr. Budweiser!

Meanwhile, check out Dr. Budweiser's website www.weiserliving.com for more articles, recipes and videos!
