    in Education

Join Mass Formatic as he flies solo and discusses MORALITY as Reelative & Objective.  As always in part one of every series the Conductor will eliminate any confusion by defining the terms and collecting the raw data and then preparing that raw data into a body of knowledge.  This is the Grammar of a subject when using the Trivium Method of Learning.  It answers the Who, What, Where, & When.  This is the foundation of knowledge when tackling any subject.  Please do not forget about the FaceBook Event Page for EPISODE 0013, where you can interact with the Conductor and with other listeners of the show.  Also, it is a great supplement to the show as links will be posted on the topics discussed.  Remember this is where we start the conversation, not end it.  Welcome to the Cafe!

How Will You Preserve Stories told by Women? Who Will Tell Our History?

    in Film

Joining Can We Talk for REAL, Wednesday night will be Dr. Watson, from Real Woman Speak. RWS is dedicated to impacting the lives of women through visual media and print by collecting our stories and preserving our histories So many stories have been lot but so many have been captured and will hold our history forever. Most recently, she was featured on the LGBT Radio Nation Show the topic being Intergenerational Communication. Dr. Watson has also been a guest on the Rhonda Sciortino radio show Crack the Code and the Detroit Area Agency on Aging Senior Solutions Radio Show. Since her retirement, she has ventured into yet another genre, film making. Starting a production company, Reel Women Speak is dedicated to impacting the lives of women through visual media. Women will have the opportunity to become empowered, enhance and develop their quality of life and recalibrate their future, thereby strengthening families and transforming communities. Collective Voices: Wisdom of our Lesbian Elders is her first independent film. Dr. Watson states that “whether it’s in my writing, art or film I have a deep need to recollect traditions and generational legacy, this perhaps comes from listening to stories from my elders specifically, African American women sitting, laughing, talking on porch steps or around the kitchen table.”

Dr. Debraha Watson describes herself as a mother of two adult children, a film maker, poet, short story writer, essayist, editor and retired higher education administrator. “I can be driven or complacent. Insecure or egotistical like all living creatures I am passing through stages. I am recovering, discovering and growing.”

    Ask MomRN Show

    in Family

Today we'll speak with Noga Leviner, Co-Founder and CEO of PicnicHealth, about all the ways PicnicHealth is helping to save time for busy parents.

Consider this: For those diagnosed with a serious illness, it's not only the treatment itself that is so challenging, but also the huge time sink involved in collecting, organizing, and distributing mountains of medical records from dozens of specialists.

Enter PicnicHealth... a master library of your personal health history that collects ALL of your medical records (not just a few scans or charts) and transforms them into a unified visual archive that is accurate, easy to understand, and rapidly distributed to every doctor that you use.

EP 67 Organizing Your Laura Ingalls Wilder Collection

    in History

As I often say in my presentations, it's a DANGEROUS time to be a Laura Ingalls Wilder fan because there is just SO much merchandise out there. Pretty much whatever you want you can find it with either Laura Ingalls Wilder or Little House on it. You can even find unexpectedly odd things like a dogtag or a bobble-head doll. Where do you find all this stuff? It's one of my post frequently asked questions at my programs so we'll go over that too. So gather up your books, your stuffed Jacks, and your Charlotte Dolls and listen up as we discuss how to organize your Laura Ingalls Wilder collection.

Please call in or contact me ahead of time through e-mail, Twitter or Facebook. I'd love to hear your organizational tips or unique things from your collection or your next collecting goal.

Jen Pio, M.A.~Forensic Psychologist/The Paranormal in Hawaii

    in Paranormal

    Jen Pio

Jen Pio has her Master's Degree in Forensic Psychology.  She currently provides case management and outreach to the homeless community. She is a wife and mother with four beautiful daughters. Jen was born in Albuquerque, new Mexico.  Her family then moved to California where she grew up in Long Beach.  Jen loves playing softball and enjoying her family.  She has always had experiences of what people call "de ja vu", or as she wouId like to say, "It's been seen". Her oldest daughter showed some psychic abilities at a very young age, but it trickled away as the years passed. She thinks partly because it was not focused on or encouraged enough. They currently live in Westminster, CA.  for almost 2 years since moving from Kea'au, Hawaii where they lived for almost a year and a half. Jen will be speaking with us about the paranormal in Hawaii and her and her families experiences. One of the stories that we all have heard of is The Curse of Pele. "Pele’s Curse is the belief that anything natively Hawaiian, such as sand, rock, or pumice, will impart bad luck on whoever takes it away from the island. One version about the legend’s genesis is this: a disgruntled park ranger, angry at the number of rocks that were being taken from the islands by visitors, said that Pele would curse them with bad luck should they take anything. Another version often told is that bus drivers, tired of the dirt and grime brought on their buses by the tourists’ collection of rocks, started the story at the beginning of each tour to discourage the rock collecting. True or not, every year countless tourists send these back in order to escape the awful bad luck they acquired". (ZACH ROYER, paranormal Investigator.)
