Padron is a 2015 Doctor of Public Health Candidate. Her subject matter expertise leverages peer services, supports, delivery, frontier and rural public health and peer services in integrated physical and behavioral systems of care within the United States. “A Study of the Relationship Between Physical Health Problems, the Well-Being, Recovery, and Community Participation of Adults Living with Mental Health Disorders” is a secondary data analysis of randomized controlled University Pennsylvania and Temple University studies. It examines the impact of intervention aimed at enhancing self- care behaviors, patient-physician communication, and motivation to participate in treatment. She completed graduate studies at the University of Texas at Austin and undergraduate studies at the University of Washington at Seattle.
She has postered, appeared and published broadly on HIV/AIDS/STD/HCV education and SPMI, higher-education and SPMI, US peer leadership and workforce development. Aubrey Shomo just completed a ten day Hunger Strike at the Colorado State Capitol, resulting in the investigation of her wire recording of Dan Shearer from Boulder County Mental Health admitting to covering up abuse and coercing a no contest plea against her, while suggesting he was following the orders of his employer. The State is convening an investigation committee in the Executive Branch. Aubrey Shomo calls in and gives updates!

Kathie is a survivor of elctroshock, and is totally against the use of ECT, shock, and all forms of forced treatment. Join us to talk about how our movement can thrive, end the use of electroshock and all forced psychiatry.
Jim Gottstein grew up in Anchorage, Alaska. After graduating from West Anchorage High School in 1971, he attended the University of Oregon and graduated with honors (BS, Finance) in 1974. From there he attended Harvard Law School graduating in 1978 with a J.D. degree. Mr. Gottstein's career has evolved from emphasizing business matters and public land law, with mental health representation and advocacy as an adjunct, to increasing emphasis on mental health advocacy and representation.
Since late 2002, Mr. Gottstein has devoted the bulk of his time pro bono to the Law Project for Psychiatric Rights (PsychRights) whose mission is to mount a strategic litigation campaign against forced psychiatric drugging and electroshock across the United States. Starting, in 2004, Jim has made addressing the alarming and horrific increase in the psychiatric drugging of children and youth a high priority.

Kasandra had just purchased a new home when she underwent chemo, radiation, and surgery. She was unemployed, needing medication and with a mortgage to pay. She turned to the government for help and found nothing! She was completely and utterly devastated and she knew there needed to be an organization that would help others with these needs so they could concentrate on getting well. The Mission of The ExtraMile Breast Cancer Foundation is to help lessen the stress and trauma associated with breast cancer. "Faith will take you the extra mile" and boy do they go the extra mile!
