Tonight's show will be hosted by L.A. Davis of It's My House. Tonight we shall select a "trending topic issue/problem" and then form a CIVIL RIGHTS ASSET.....aka.......Civic Asset to solve that problem.
We shall have a "panel" discussion with Olivia A. Floyd a university student @ North Carolina Central University will be our "co-host" tonight. Our panel discussion will also involve members of the Know They Self Radio audience.
We are witnessing a civil rights movement in 2015. The same things that the brothers and sisters went through,we are facing again. What will come out of this movement? Does it prove America is a racist nation? Will we ever get past race? Let's have a honest talk about a issue that divides many.
In this live on scene episode I broadcast from the Rally for Cannabis and Civil Rights which I'm also a guest speaker. This rally will be held at the Alabama State Capitol, 600 Dexter Ave, Montgomery, Alabama 36104. This is a rally to show support for our rights to use cannabis as patients as under the United States Constitution. Guest speakers: Cedirc Coley, Dr. Bill Chitwood, Pastor Jeffrey Livings, Robert J Bubba Martin, Chris Rushing and myself (Marcus Echols). The flag carriers: Ina Epps and Pastor Jeffrey Livings. People will also be giving testimonials.
The execution style killing of 9 year old Tyshawn Lee is beyond evil. Anyone with a heart will become outraged. Black civil rights organizations are silent about this murder. They have tweeted but not marched or demand justice for Tyshawn Lee. What if Tyshawn's killer was a KKK member? We all know the response would be totally different. We want to cover this issue because the hypocrisy is something we can't tolerate for progress.
Birmingham, Alabama is known as "The Magic City" and the "Pittsburgh of the South" because of its steelmaking prowess and civil rights legacy. Walking through the city offers a powerful history lesson and inspiring life stories of those who sacraficed for freedom.
World Footprints will revisit two attractions that takes us back to a dark chapter in America's history: the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute and The Sixteenth Street Baptist Church where a tragic bombing changed the course of history. Our tour guide is Barry McNealy, a teacher and master tour guide who has been seen on CNN.
Join World Footprints as we walk through Birmingham's and American history.
Sam Thurman, Cliff Stewart, Lisa Stewart and Lamont Banks, of the Colorado exoneration firm, A Just Cause, discuss what happens when the wheels of justice trample unbridled over the rights of innocent Americans.
Although the American system of justice is the most-respected worldwide, it is still a system designed, and operated, by humans, which means it's not perfect.
Our Special Guests for tonight's show discussing Civil Rights are Andrew Laufer, Civil Rights Attorney, Paula Johnson, Professor of Law at Syracuse University, and Karen Bryson, Research Assistant and 3rd year Law Student at Syracuse University.
A Just Cause is currently campaigning for "FreeTheIRP6," who's been wrongly imprisoned in Florence, CO for a crime they didn't commit. Read full story: www.freetheirp6.org.
