Circumcision Myths and Facts with Dr. Adrienne Carmack

    in Family

My guest is Dr Adrienne Carmack, her work on birth rights-rights to genital autnonmy, which in the U.S. are mostly issues for boys and intersex children, the right to natural birth, the right to conscientious decision-making on vaccinations and the right to breastfeed.
Although medical technology has advanced tremendously and she has seen lives saved, Dr Carmack has also witnessed harm after harm arising from “preventive” measures (such as prostate cancer (PSA) screening and newborn circumcision) and treatments (such as medications and elective surgeries). Though these interventions all have appropriate roles, using them before trying less risky alternatives, such as lifestyle modifications, can expose you to unnecessary risks and fail to address the underlying causes, which may lead to other illnesses later.

    Circumcision?

    in Lifestyle

Genesis 17:12 YHVH told Abraham: And he that is eight days old shall be circumcised among you, every man child in your generations, he that is born in the house, or bought with money of any stranger, which [is] not of thy seed.
    ******************************************
For those who have not had this privilege at birth don't be condemned. Circumcision of the heart comes first for some. Although it would have been easier on the eighth day for you, it may be a greater privilege to make a conscious decision of your own to covenant with father in this way.

    Circumcision, just the tip

    in Religion

The last religious thing I ever did was I got my son circumcised.  It was weird then,  I wasn't an atheist yet, but I wasn't religious, either.  Still, my wife and I made the choice to have this done.  Was it wrong?

By the time my daughter was born, we were anxious about the possibility of having another boy.  Would we get this one circumcised?  How wierd would it be to have one cut and one un-cut?  I guess lcuk had it that it was a decision we did not have to make.

Since that moment 10 years ago, my views on this practice have evolved.  I'll give my take on how.

    Plus your calls.

    Awesomeness will be in excess!!

#44: Rethinking Circumcision with Dr. Ronald Goldman

    in Moms and Family

Have you ever thought about why we circumcise our little boys in this country? We are told it's healthier for the boy, that it protects them from future health problems.  But is that really true? What if there are actually health consequences and risks due to circumcision?  And what about the sexual impacts it has on him as a man?  On tonight's show we're talking to psychologist Dr. Ronald Goldman about the American tradition of male circucision and why you may want to re-think this procedure for your son.

    On this episode we discuss:

    * The history of circumcision and it's "anti-mastrubation" beginnings

    * The health risks of circumcision

    * The actual procedure of circumcision for a newborn boy

    * The sexual and psychological impacts on boys and men from circumcision

    * Why this practice of cutting off a functional part of a male's body continues to this day

    [AHD] Circumcision

    in Health

Circumcision is the removal of the foreskin, which is the skin that covers the tip of the male sexual organ. In the United States, it is often done before a new baby leaves the hospital. There are medical benefits and risks to circumcision. Possible benefits include a lower risk of urinary tract infections, penile cancer and sexually transmitted diseases. The risks include pain and a low risk of bleeding or infection. The practice of circumcision dates to ancient times. In ancient Egypt, prior to biblical times, circumcision was performed to improve male hygiene. Later, routine circumcision of male infants was part of the Abrahamic covenants with Jehovah, giving rise to religious circumcisions that continue to this day in the Jewish and Muslim faiths.

In Africa, attitudes towards circumcisions are changing from traditional beliefs into health and preventive measures. Until recently, the lines of circumcisions were clearly defined by cultures and traditions.

Friday Fire with Unleash the Fire Ministries

    in Spirituality

Jeremiah 4:4 circumcise yourself to the Lord, and take away the foreskins of the heart...lest my fury come forth like fire, and burn that none can quench it, because of the evil of your doings." The call to intercession is a deep call...one that will take you into the enemy's camp and will require heavy warfare. You must be strategically prepared for the battle. you must not only have the flesh cut back from around the heart, but also must be prepared for a close walk with the Lord. It is in this close walk- in the depths with Jesus that we are prepared for heavy spiritual warfare. The deeper circumcision brings you into battle with the hosts of hell. However, because of the circumcision of the heart, we meet the captain of the host of the Lord as Joshua did in Josh 5:13-15. We invite you now to journey with us into healing and wholeness as we discuss these "Matters of the Heart"

Acts 15: The Jerusalem Conference convenes—on Probing the Prophets with Rod

    in Religion

Turning lose of old, cherished traditions is difficult; especially if those traditions have been the basis for ones standing with God.

The battle between the covenants, which saw Paul stoned and left for dead in Lystra and which was ferocious between Jews and Christians, even entered the church! Many zealous Jews became Christians. They stood loudly and proudly for the ways of Moses, especially for key rituals such as Sabbath keeping and circumcision.

While these were perfectly acceptable practices among transition Christians, they were shortly to be removed with the removal of that first covenant. And, they only genuinely pertained to those living under the fading glory of the old while it still lingered.

Not understanding this, zealous Jewish believers pressed to have the Law enforced upon Gentile converts as a necessary aspect of their salvation.

The famous Jerusalem conference sat, not to settle the covenant issue, God had already settled that. No, this conference met to determine how to counteract the damage done by the men who were teaching wrongly, who had no authority to teach what they were teaching.

The conference was unanimous in their conclusions. They drafted and circulated a letter: Gentiles need not be circumsized to be saved. It brought great releif!
