Genesis 17:12 YHVH told Abraham: And he that is eight days old shall be circumcised among you, every man child in your generations, he that is born in the house, or bought with money of any stranger, which [is] not of thy seed.
For those who have not had this privilege at birth don't be condemned. Circumcision of the heart comes first for some. Although it would have been easier on the eighth day for you, it may be a greater privilege to make a conscious decision of your own to covenant with father in this way.

    [AHD] Circumcision

    in Health

Circumcision is the removal of the foreskin, which is the skin that covers the tip of the male sexual organ. In the United States, it is often done before a new baby leaves the hospital. There are medical benefits and risks to circumcision. Possible benefits include a lower risk of urinary tract infections, penile cancer and sexually transmitted diseases. The risks include pain and a low risk of bleeding or infection. The practice of circumcision dates to ancient times. In ancient Egypt, prior to biblical times, circumcision was performed to improve male hygiene. Later, routine circumcision of male infants was part of the Abrahamic covenants with Jehovah, giving rise to religious circumcisions that continue to this day in the Jewish and Muslim faiths.
In Africa, attitudes towards circumcisions are changing from traditional beliefs into health and preventive measures. Until recently, the lines of circumcisions were clearly defined by cultures and traditions.

The Eternal circumcision \ A Eterna circuncisão

    in Christianity

6 And the Lord your God will circumcise your heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live.

6 E o Senhor teu Deus circuncidará o teu coração, e o coração de tua descendência, para amares ao Senhor teu Deus com todo o coração, e com toda a tua alma, para que vivas.

    External Circumcision and Internal Circumcision.

    in Spirituality

We will discuss Jeremiah 9:23-26 and Romans 2:23-31.  God said that he would punish all, the circumcised, as well as the uncircumcised, because of their transgressions to his laws and commandments.  The Jews felt confident that they would be saved because of their external circumcision, but God requires an internal circumcision of the heart because an external circumcision meant that physically you were of God, but internally, you still served your sinful fleshly nature.

Maggie Rhodes Describes her Sons Botched Circumcision

    in Politics

Many of you have heard of the story of three-month-old infant known as Baby Ashton has been left mutilated after doctors cut off his during what was supposed to be a 20-minute circumcision procedure.

Memphis, Tenn. mother Maggie Rhodes is now regretting taking her son Ashton to the Christ Community Health Center in August to get circumcised.

“After I went home and I discovered that my son’s was not there, I immediately froze, like, oh my God,” Rhode told My Fox Memphis.

Rhodes said she was told the procedure would only take 20 minutes but was left waiting for hours as she heard her baby scream throughout the entire procedure.

“It took them about three hours to do the circumcision and so my baby screamed the whole three hours, like the whole process,” Rhodes said. “Then even when she gave him back to us, he was still screaming.”

Rhodes said she was not notified of the botched procedure, instead she and her sister made the shocking discovery at home when Ashton was still screaming and they saw his diaper filled with blood.

“When she pulled back the cloth, like the thing was like, gone. She cut up instead of down, instead of cutting around the top of the ,” Rhodes was quoted.

Ms. Rhodes will be on the show today to dicuss this disturbing story with Chris. Appearing with Maggie on  the show was yet another victim of Christ Community HC botched circumcision; Lena, who's son was also treated in just such a sloppy unprofessional manner. Make sure you are on hand to listen and/or call in. And feel free to add your thoughts on the commentsection on this page by srolling down.

SPECIAL: Circumcision: A Human Rights &Gender Equity Problem

    in Family

The Voice of Change welcomes Georganne Chapin, executive director of IntactAmerica.org to the program today.  She will discuss how routine infant male circumcision constitutes a human rights violation on a massive scale, asking how we as a culture can condemn female genital mutilation, while continuing to embrace the cosmetic, medically unnecessary cutting of baby boys’ genitals. Georganne Chapin is the founding executive director of Intact America, an organization that is changing the way Americans think about circumcision. Expectant parents find a true ally in Chapin, who supplies accurate health information through Intact America's website and fights for children by demanding that public health officials reveal the truth about this needless surgery. Her "Circumcision Debate" article, published in Hudson Valley Parent magazine, highlights her dedication to the intactivist cause. She also writes frequently about the issue on Intact America's blog.
Chapin writes and presents widely in the U.S. and abroad on bioethics and health care reform. She is frequently quoted in the press, and has appeared on national and local television and radio. She earned her B.A. in Anthropology from Barnard College, her M.A. and M.Phil. degrees in Sociomedical Sciences from Columbia University, and a J.D., cum laude, with certificates in Health Law and International Law from Pace University School of Law. She has taught as an adjunct professor of law at Pace.
