This week, on Talkin' Scripture, we will talk about Spiritual Circumcision. Circumcision was commanded in the book of Genesis. It was a sign between the covenant between Abraham and God. What does circumcision have to do with us? A lot. And it is something we must take part in. Tune in to find out what I'm talkin about.
Genesis 17:12 YHVH told Abraham: And he that is eight days old shall be circumcised among you, every man child in your generations, he that is born in the house, or bought with money of any stranger, which [is] not of thy seed.
For those who have not had this privilege at birth don't be condemned. Circumcision of the heart comes first for some. Although it would have been easier on the eighth day for you, it may be a greater privilege to make a conscious decision of your own to covenant with father in this way.

Kristen Tea and Crystal Wolf talk about the many myths that often are used to persuade parents to follow the routine infant circumcision that is happening in the U.S. today. If a parent becomes informed on the Truths of circumcision and see how invalid the myths are, they can see clearly how chosing to keep their boys intact is the way to go!
Ever wonder what the foreskin really does? Tune in to hear from Kristen Tea and Crystal Wolf all of the amazing purposes of this "flap of skin." Learn why you want to keep your boy intact, and avoid the horrors of circumcision. This is part one of educating future parents and current parents on why they want to research circumcision before cutting their little boy.
Circumcision is the removal of the foreskin, which is the skin that covers the tip of the male sexual organ. In the United States, it is often done before a new baby leaves the hospital. There are medical benefits and risks to circumcision. Possible benefits include a lower risk of urinary tract infections, penile cancer and sexually transmitted diseases. The risks include pain and a low risk of bleeding or infection. The practice of circumcision dates to ancient times. In ancient Egypt, prior to biblical times, circumcision was performed to improve male hygiene. Later, routine circumcision of male infants was part of the Abrahamic covenants with Jehovah, giving rise to religious circumcisions that continue to this day in the Jewish and Muslim faiths.
In Africa, attitudes towards circumcisions are changing from traditional beliefs into health and preventive measures. Until recently, the lines of circumcisions were clearly defined by cultures and traditions.
We will discuss Jeremiah 9:23-26 and Romans 2:23-31. God said that he would punish all, the circumcised, as well as the uncircumcised, because of their transgressions to his laws and commandments. The Jews felt confident that they would be saved because of their external circumcision, but God requires an internal circumcision of the heart because an external circumcision meant that physically you were of God, but internally, you still served your sinful fleshly nature.
Today Sharon Ann Wikoff will share with listeners the story, Daddy,Why Are We Different?" This is a gentle and loving story, telling a little boy, in ways that he can understand, WHY he is different from his father... because he was not circumcised! Often a family will choose to have their son circumcised, just because they want him to resemble his father. Now, more and more families are coming to understand the trauma that routine circumcision puts a child through for no valid reason, and are saying NO... Do not cut my child. We must re-think traditions, especially traditions which inflict great pain. In addition, Sharon will be sharing 10 reason NOT to circumcise your child, from the website, www.Intact America.com
Many of you have heard of the story of three-month-old infant known as Baby Ashton has been left mutilated after doctors cut off his during what was supposed to be a 20-minute circumcision procedure.
Memphis, Tenn. mother Maggie Rhodes is now regretting taking her son Ashton to the Christ Community Health Center in August to get circumcised.
“After I went home and I discovered that my son’s was not there, I immediately froze, like, oh my God,” Rhode told My Fox Memphis.
Rhodes said she was told the procedure would only take 20 minutes but was left waiting for hours as she heard her baby scream throughout the entire procedure.
“It took them about three hours to do the circumcision and so my baby screamed the whole three hours, like the whole process,” Rhodes said. “Then even when she gave him back to us, he was still screaming.”
Rhodes said she was not notified of the botched procedure, instead she and her sister made the shocking discovery at home when Ashton was still screaming and they saw his diaper filled with blood.
“When she pulled back the cloth, like the thing was like, gone. She cut up instead of down, instead of cutting around the top of the ,” Rhodes was quoted.
Ms. Rhodes will be on the show today to dicuss this disturbing story with Chris. Appearing with Maggie on the show was yet another victim of Christ Community HC botched circumcision; Lena, who's son was also treated in just such a sloppy unprofessional manner. Make sure you are on hand to listen and/or call in. And feel free to add your thoughts on the commentsection on this page by srolling down.
What is the "why" for Jesus going to the cross. Why did HE have to die? Yes it was for our sins but the question is why did he have to die ? Were they not already giving tithes of bulls and goats as blood offerings to atone for sins? Were they not already under a priest system that God dwelled in the Most Holy place of the Temple and the high priest went in once a year for atonement? Why did all these traditions need to change? why did Jesus have to go to the cross if this system was working? Why did God make it PARAMOUNT to change the Covenant at the Cross and why is today's church oblivious to the change? Can we worship God they we want to like Cain or must we worship in Spirit and Truth?
God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.
The Voice of Change welcomes Georganne Chapin, executive director of IntactAmerica.org to the program today. She will discuss how routine infant male circumcision constitutes a human rights violation on a massive scale, asking how we as a culture can condemn female genital mutilation, while continuing to embrace the cosmetic, medically unnecessary cutting of baby boys’ genitals. Georganne Chapin is the founding executive director of Intact America, an organization that is changing the way Americans think about circumcision. Expectant parents find a true ally in Chapin, who supplies accurate health information through Intact America's website and fights for children by demanding that public health officials reveal the truth about this needless surgery. Her "Circumcision Debate" article, published in Hudson Valley Parent magazine, highlights her dedication to the intactivist cause. She also writes frequently about the issue on Intact America's blog.
Chapin writes and presents widely in the U.S. and abroad on bioethics and health care reform. She is frequently quoted in the press, and has appeared on national and local television and radio. Georganne Chapin joins Trish Causey to talk about the dangers of non-consensual circumcision that is routinely performed in the United States, even though it is not routinely done in the rest of the world.
Amputating a baby boy's foreskin leads to numerous side effects later, including healing complications, neurological isues, as well as increasing the potential for erectile dysfunction later in life.
Equally heinous is Female Genital Cutting, but that has been officially made illegal in the United States.
Intact America, founded in 2008 thanks to funding from a private donor, is the most recent expression of a movement against infant circumcision that has been active and expanding for decades. Intact America counts among its advisors many long-term Intactivists, as well as many new people who have embraced Intact America’s commitment to protect all babies and children–male and female–from the forced modification of their genitalia. Georganne Chapin, a leader in the fight for ethical, cost-effective and high quality health care, is Intact America’s founding executive director. Ms. Chapin holds a BA in anthropology from Barnard College, an MPhil in sociomedical sciences from Columbia University, and a JD from Pace University School of Law.
