Special guest tonight, Christian Prince and his Paltalk Chatroom joins Usama Dakdok & Kristie Johnson to discuss the real Islam and its violence from the sources: the Qur'an & Hadith and Muslim scholars’ interpretations. We examine politics, current events and all issues related to Islam to expose the Jihad now being waged against the Western world and Israel. Call in (questions or listen): (347) 857-1380. Salutations with a side order of crumpets and cornbread to our steadfast listenership! Join Dburt, Capt. Kirk and the "Uncanny" Daryll B., for a new episode of Afronerd Radio's Grindhouse airing this Saturday at 6pm EST. For our latest installment, we welcome writer, editor and co-owner of Verge Entertainment, Joseph Illidge. Mr. Illidge stops by Afronerd Studios to discuss his forthcoming project, The Ren as well as his stellar editorial career at DC Comics and Milestone Media. Additionally, the crew will dissect the following stories: comedic actor, Simon Pegg (Star Trek, Shaun of the Dead) has some choice words regarding geek culture and the infantilization of adult society (what, his geek movie themed checks bounced?); what does the leak of the Supergirl pilot episode 6 months before the official airing mean for the series? ; what are the implications for the season finales of Agents of Shield and The Flash; DC's Convergence vs Marvel's Secret Wars-flipside of the same crossover event?; our impressions of the recent Mad Max reboot. And lastly, actor, Michael B. Jordan states his case for "fear of a Black Human Torch."
And for more serious socio-political fare, there's Afronerd Radio for the second half. Join Dburt and Capt. Kirk as they discuss the following topics: The Root site gets purchased by Univision; Sean P. Diddy Combs weighs in on the #BlackLivesMatter movement; another police shooting of unarmed Black men-this time occurring in WA ; Bionic contact lens are on the horizon; our thoughts about the upcoming afronerd-centric Dope film. Lastly, the recent story of a Harvard grad arrested for drug dealing and how cultural underpinnings are hard to avoid. Call the hosts live at 646-915-9620.
Every now and then, there comes a talent well beyond their years in the business that is hard to explain just how andwhy they arrived at their destiny. Perhaps (Shae) Keisha Williams was created for the purpose of entertaining others with her gifts of singing and acting even before she knew it.
During her studies of classical and jazz music at McNeese State University, her sharpattention to detail and creative edge became more refined. With an academic classical background in hand and the determination of a rising star, Shae followed her dreams and moved to Nashville, Tennessee, in 2002. She combined her gospel roots, classical training and sultry charm to mesmerize audiences in Music City’s competitive R&B circuit. Shae’s melodic vocals graced legendary venues such as BB King, Rhythm Kitchen, Love Noise and Lucy Blu in addition to major music festivals such as the Spanish festival and the African Street Festival.
This natural talent continues to practice live arts in true renaissance fashion, performing in urban theatre and currently recording her latest R&B album. Shae’s critically acclaimed team includes Grammy nominated producers Alvin Garrett, whose musical catalog includes Joe, Johnny Gill, and Ruben Studdard, producer Roger Ryan whose production and performance credits include Whitney Houston, Wynonna Judd, Faith Evans, Oleta Adams and Kirk Franklin and Michael J Gaines, whose musical credits includes Cher, Kelly Price, Eric Clapton, Anointed, The Pointer Sisters and Shirley Murdock. A down south girl born with the gift of bringing life to the stage–Shae has the charisma to draw you in and the sensual appeal to keep you on the edge of your seat wanting more.
Come hang out with me while I talk about one great show that has met its end. How the following pushed the envelope of violence on TV and how I felt about the way it ended.
