This installment of The Forbidden Fruit will look into the effectiveness of these medical charities that raise money for research on such diseases like breast cancer, ALS, and MS just to name a few. The big thing that is sweeping the net is the Ice Bucket Challenge. What is that really about? Can't you donate money without taking an ice bath? The real question is, once you donate your hard earned money to these causes, how much of it goes to the actual research? Does the real benefit go to the makers of ice and pink stuff? What do you think? What is fact or spin?
The second half of the show, after we moved away from the original topic gets crazy, when Johnna and Jenn call into the show. We have too much fun on this show. It was just a free for all! You have to listen to see what happens next! ROTFLMAO!

I have my favorite charities. Do you have yours? Do you know where the money goes--the money that you donate, because you want to make a difference with your favorite cause(s)?
What I recently discovered about some of the most popular charities is SHOCKING and DISTURBING. This show will bring to your attention what you should know BEFORE you make your next contribution. It is an eye opener It just may confirm that your money is going where you expected it to, or perhaps it is going to the people running the charity, and NOT the people who desperately NEED charity. Listen, learn and decide to donate where it will do the most good.
Welcome back to WHR You Decide!
We are honored and pleased to announce our next special guest host, Peter Kent, stuntman and acting double for Arnold Schwarzenegger!
Peter will join us to discuss charities for children, who he feels are necessary and vital to the protection and support of children and their families. Charities that help children are at the top of my list when it comes to donations. There's nothing more compelling than a sick, injured, or under-educated child in need.
We look forward to you joining us for an exciting interview with Peter Kent!
Our second show today features charities with distinct Christmas themes or we commonly think of at Christmas. They include some small local ones, as well as big organizations. Many are helping children and some help Veterans. There's something for everyone to be involved in. Join me as we Restore Joy this Christmas!
We'll also get our daily visit from Obama Claus, helping us countdown the days until Christmas.
We'll play some good Christmas music in there as well.
Here's a list of the charities we'll feature today:
Brattleboro Christmas Stocking (Brattleboro, Vermont)
Toys For Tots
The Red Cross
Wreaths Across America
Trees For Troops
Operation Christmas Child
Project Angel Tree
and The Salvation Army.
Visit these organizations in your local area or online to make a donation and help make someone's Christmas a little better this year!

Martell Foundation is the music industry’s largest foundation that funds innovative medical research focused on finding cures of leukemia, cancer & AIDS. Over the past thirty-eight years, over $250 million has been provided to support creative early-stage research projects at twelve research hospitals across the country. These projects are aimed at developing more effective clinical treatments for patients, which otherwise might not be funded.
Join us for a discussion of philosophy and the holidays.
Philosophical concerns surrounding charity, gift giving. In particular, developing an intellectual awareness of why the 'bell ringing' charities are a problem.
A little more on "consumerism". Constructive focus on how to find which things are truly valuable.
