National Empowerment Radio Presents - Let's Talk w/ Dr. Wendy
Topic: Career Management - Don't Be the High Maintenance Employee
Most managers are familiar with the type: one employee who requires more managerial attention than all the rest combined. He or she may be a high performer or a low performer, but a common characteristic is the amount of management time consumed. Issues can be as variable as personalities: They may involve complaints, frustrations, conflicts with others, desires to do things their own way, problems with deadlines… but the common thread is the constant need for a manager’s involvement to keep things on track.
The High Maintenance High Performers are the highly talented employees who are challenging to manage but produce the biggest results and are worth it. The High Maintenance Low Performers are the employees who spend more time figuring out how to game the system than they do working. They need to be ferreted out of a company because they are dead weight dragging it down. The High Maintenance High Performers But Just Not Worth It employees are really the biggest threat to a company. They are the highly talented employees who produce results, but in the process exhaust everyone and can destroy morale and company culture.
Where do you fit in? What kind of employee/s do you currently manage? Do you need some assistance?
Are you a high maintenance employee? Is it adversely impacting your career? Are you aware that you are a high maintenance employee? Do you currently manage high maintenance employees and need some assistance? If so, this show is for YOU!
This show will provide information that you can use immediately.
Thank you for the continued support!

Guest: Victoria LaPoe, Ph.D.
Catastrophizing is an irrational thought a lot of us have in believing that something is far worse than it actually is. Catastrophizing can generally can take two forms. The first of these is making a catastrophe out of a situation. This kind of Catastrophizing takes a current situation and gives it a truly negative spin. The second kind of Catastrophizing is closely linked to the first, but it is more mental and more future oriented. This kind of Catastrophizing occurs when we look to the future and anticipate all the things that are going to go wrong.

Purpose is finding your authentic self, and setting the intention to live in a way that honors whatever it is you find with Passion.
Find out more tonight about Passion and Purpose with our guest Carmen M. Peña. Carmen is a Coach, Speaker, Author, and CEO of Life Consultants International, a socially-conscious training and development company offering uniquely designed services to contribute to the happiness, health and success of individuals and organizations world-wide. Making a difference in the world for over 20 years, Ms. Peña has coached and mentored hundreds of teens and adults in personal and professional development and growth.
With more than $1 trillion in student loans outstanding in this country, crippling debt is no longer confined to dropouts from for-profit colleges or graduate students who owe on many years of education, some of the overextended debtors in years past. As prices soar, a college degree statistically remains a good lifetime investment, but it often comes with an unprecedented financial burden.
Caitlin Kovalkoski, Director of Bank Community Engagement will be our guest tonight to discuss options for students and parents as they manage their Me, Inc. Enterprises effectively.
In this episode I will discuss the importance of knowing your value.
You don’t have to be Sigmund Freud to know that people with low self-esteem frequently demean themselves in their interactions with others. Unfortunately, this is something that frequently requires professional counseling.
I don’t perform psychoanalysis; I prefer that people who have self-esteem issues find solutions by working with their own community of behavioral health care professionals, particularly since there is no longer any stigma attached to seeking psychiatric treatment. This is important because running your career as a business (the CEO of Me, Inc.) relies heavily on your ability to project confident, positive and assertive behaviors. The quicker the treatment for poor self-esteem, the sooner the positive results will become reflected in your career management program.
