    in Lifestyle

Danielle Myers on Mentoring Monday presented by 4wordwomen and hosted by author Rick Tocquigny.

After 12 years of working for Covidien in global operations with responsibility for their capital asset funding, real estate and operations departmental financials.  It was a fantastic learning experience where I was able to build my career and also meet many great mentors.  After leaving Covidien I decided to try out consulting on my own and have been working primarily with another medical device company as well as a few others for the past 18 months.  I have been able to continue developing my leadership skills while also being able to have a different view into the organization.  I credit my mentors with giving me the support and push to try this out on my o

I have remained in contact with my mentees after the formal session and have had the opportunity to be a trusted adviser for them, getting to know all aspects of who they are, their goals and dreams and being someone they can count on when they need a shoulder to lean on or give them a push to help them achieve more.

Three of my mentees truly stand out:

A jewelry designer from TX who graduated college early and for the past 5 months has been focusing on her jewelry company.
A woman who received her PHD in Kinesiology and is working as a post grad fellow at Harvard studying how your brain impacts addictive behavior.
A commercial real estate tenant representative who has a drive to support entrepreneurs

He also serves as a faculty member of Massachusetts General Hospital's Department of Psychiatry.  He is the 2014 recipient of the American Society on Aging’s FORSA Award (Forum on Religion, Spirituality and Aging) recognizing his leadership, locally and nationally, in exploring the role of spirituality and religion in the aging services field.  Bob has earned many honors and has held several prominent leadership roles throughout his academic and professional career.  He has a private psychological practice in Cambridge, MA.

Cafecito Break - Dance Your Dream

    in Spirituality

Welcome to our virtual living room space with your hosts Rosangel Perez and Ruthie Guten.  Our topic today is "Dance Your Dream" with Special Guest Pastor Ben and Dj Gavin Russom.

The Rev. Ben Mckelahan is an interactive artist, fairy tale writer, and Lutheran Pastor.  Since he stumbled upon Lutheranism and Theatre of the Oppressed, Ben has been fascinated with how to use art and games to create a community that embodies God’s unconditional love.

Ben serves as the pastor of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.

Gavin Russon -  is a sound, visual, and music artist, originally from Providence, Rhode Island, he currently lives in New York City. He has also spent a significant amount of time based in Berlin which he considers his second home. From an early age, he became interested in experimenting with sound, image and movement and investigating the territory where the boundaries between them blur. Not surprisingly, his career has straddled many worlds and scenes. Looking beneath genre and the shifting landscape of stylistic trends, Russom's focus is really the vital energy present in all earthly things and the ecstatic nature of reality. As a result his creative output, an attempt to continually liberate and channel these energies, often overlaps one medium with another yet still represents a remarkably consistent vision.
