"The power is in the people, not the paper."
~ Danette Chavis, CEO and Founder of National Action Against Police Brutality and Murder.
Every eight(8) hours someone is killed by a police office in America. Conversely, law enforcement agents are convicted in less one(1) percent of these tragic incidents. Just to keep things in perspective, ThinkProgress.com reports that police in the United States killed more people than the UK did in the entire 20th century. In fact, it was twice as many; police in the UK only killed 52 people during that 100 year period.
Join Alex Primo and Asha Zuri Thursday, November 19, 2015 at 9 PM EST(6 PM PST, 7 PM MST, 8 PM CST) as we dissect, examine, and analyze police brutality, unjust murder, and the police state with our sister, activist, and freedom fighter Danette Chavis. Danette is the CEO and Founder of National Action Against Police Brutality and Murder. She has turned her personal tragedy into a fight for justice. Her quest is to hold police officers and their superiors accountable for their cruel and unusual behavior directed at the citizens of America.
Trust me, this is one episode that you do not want to miss. When Danette speaks, truth is heard and a call to action goes out to all with wisdom and understanding.
Plus the brother Dennis Jefferson with be stopping in for another summation of Monday night's Healthy Matters.

Police body cams may tell a story but the product it produces didn't make a difference in the Eric Gardner case. We witnessed as a nation and world a man die on video right in front of over vary eyes and there is no indictment. Clearly there is a problem with the grand jury system but also a clear problem with racism period. Just when you think, we have made progress, have we really? I dont think so we dont control a large percent of wealth, we have a black president, mostly unsupported by a white congress. We had black communities mostly policed by white officers or mostly department with majority black officers headed up by a white chief. They have some sort of control mechanism in place. Its just a new form of slavery without the chain being apparent. They control us politically, regardless that we have some representation in congress, who is the majority- thank you if you got that. They control major corporations that provide food, housing, transportation, banking so what's left- kind of caught in the middle I would say.

The question we still need answers to is, was the shooting of Darrius Stewart justified? Stewart was a passenger in a car with two of his peers when officer Connor Schilling pulled over a car for a broken headlight. Schilling after being told by all passengers in the car that it is a case of mistaken identity, Darrius was still placed in the back of a police car for possible outstanding warrants. Officer Schilling had the same complaint in 2013 of using excessive force and handcuffs on a woman. A dispute later led to a fight between the two with Darrius attacking the offficer and using the handcuffs Schillings was allegedly placing on him as a weapon. Police say Schilling shot Stewart. Mary Stewart, Darrius' mother speaks out tonight. Wanting answers to why her son was shot and killed.
The New Generation Justice League, Bringing You The Verdict. #BlackLivesMatter When officers have such complaints of excessive force should they not be removed from duty and psychologically evaluated. Does the internal problems effect the external problems of protecting and serving citizens as law enforcement and/or military. Certain careers because of what is involved require constant psych reviews. Many offices complain of the cost involved in the proper testing of law enforcement. Complaints of the cost of Body Cams and sensitive training. Time and time again we hear the same story when it comes to the killing of unarmed black males. This same story in the case of Darrius Stewart and Officer Connor Schillings appeared on Officer Schilling misconduct report in 2013.

Why should police use body cams? This is the best way to get the true story of events? Will the cause officers to be more professional in the demeanor and actions? Will the public feel safer? How does law enforcement benefit from the use of body cams? Pictures and videos are worth a 1000 words, so why not. How will the use of cameras impact the use of deadly force? Will there be less killings of unarmed citizens? Do the benefits out way the costs?
