    Blessing circle... prayer changes things.

    in Women

    Our intentions are pure...
Grace is love made visibile. Prayer changes things.

Welcoming Ruschelle Khanna to offer a blessing and share her own experience of prayer and healing...
Ruschelle's new book, 30 Days of Prayer, Healing Autoimmunity in Women launches at Tournesol Wellness in NYC this weekend.

SImply Grace honors diversity in faith and experience by providing a sacred space of kindness, compassion, love and hope for humanity. The Blessing Circle is a divine interruption, a gentle reminder of the abundant grace present in our lives. Faith is when we close our eyes and open our hearts...to be vulnerable, to surrender, to trust as we lean back into the arms of grace and God.

The moment faith becomes a reality in our vision, we begin to see the invisible, believe the impossible, and do the incredible...breathing grace into our hearts and our very being. Grace is the light, the love, the hope, the faith that fills each of our souls with peace. Moment by moment notice the extraordinary, life is a beautiful wonder...feel its divine miracle.  This is Simply Grace...

The Bible on Business. A Practical, Relevant, Guide to Business Success.

    in Finance

The Bible has a lot to say about business, money, leadership, and success.  I realized this when I was open to realizing it. It took the recession and subsequent losses to realize that I had the answers all along, in fact, I had read the answers before the problems existed and had the tools and strategies to avoid many of the heartaches, if only...

I was an active and practicing Christian before the recession.  The Lord blessed our family with financial prosperity back then. As President Obama defines rich - anyone making $250K or more, we were pretty darned close.  Profitability was so normal for us, that the idea of one day being broke never entered our minds, nor our way of life.

Despite how much we earned, there was very little saved.  We racked up credit card debt because paying those cards were never a struggle.  Life was good.  Then the recession hit.

After we bought my husband a brand new $47K truck, we were about to buy me a new vehicle too and something made me postpone that purchase.  I had already noticed our monthly income slipping from the $20K+ average into lower numbers and figured I would wait till things picked up a bit. They never did.  Our young construction company in Florida, slipped into the abyss of the real estate bubble never to recover.

Thankfully, one year prior, I had taken a Christian Finance workshop and changed our spending habits.  One year of biblical finance kept us from total destruction.

I turned to the Word of God for help, consolation and guidance, and God showed me that the Bible was indeed a practical, relevant guide to success.  I had the answers all along.  We simply ignored them, and our end result was a merciful version of what we truly deserved.  I share some of my findings with you in my book, The Bible on Business.

    St. Justin de Jacobis

    in Religion

Rebroadcast of the long running radio program, "The Ave Maria Hour", a presentation of the Franciscan Friars of the Atonement. www.AtonementFriars.org

St. Justin de Jacobis -- Born at San Fele, Italy. At 18 he was ordained. After helping found a Vincentian house at Monopoly, he served as superior at Lecce and in 1839 was sent as the first prefect and vicar apostolic to the new Catholic mission at Adua, Ethiopia. His efforts to evangelize met with great opposition., but in 1841 he was included in a delegation of Ethiopian prelates to Cairo to request the Coptic patriarch of Alexandria to appoint one of his monks Abuna (patriarch) of the Ethiopian church. In Cairo, the patriarch denounced the presence of Father de Jacobis on the delegation and intrigued to a point one Salama as Abuna. Some of the delegation then accompanied Father de Jacobis to meet the Pope in Rome. On his return, Father de Jacobis founded a college and seminary at Guala, and in 1846 a vicariate apostolic of the Galla was established, with William Massaia as its first bishop. These developments caused Salama to launch an anti-Catholic campaign. The college was closed, Catholicism was proscribed, and bishop Massaia was forced to return to Aidan. In 1848, he secretly consecrated Father de Jacobis, now a fugitive, bishop at Massawa, with authority to administer the sacraments in the Ethiopian rite. By 1853, the new bishop had ordained some twenty Ethiopians, was ministering to 5000 Catholics, and was able to reopen the college. In 1860, Kedaref Kassa became king as Theodore II and in return for the backing he had received from Abuna Salama, launched a persecution of the Catholics. Bishop de Jacobis was arrested and improsoned. After release he managed to find his way to Halai in southern Eritrea. He spent the rest of his life in missionary work along the Red Sea coast and died in the valley of Alghedien.
