Bridget Kelly is the front woman for, The Bridget Kelly Band out of North Florida. The band is Bridget Kelly – vocals, Tim Fik – guitar & vocals, Mike Hamm – bass, Michael Barady – drums.
Their 2013 album, Back In Blues was the North Central Florida Blues Societies entrant into the Best Self Produced CD drung the 2013 IBC. Their new album, Forever In Blues was just released in June and has gained them new fans aroucnd the globe.
Bridget will take a Seat On The Couch and talk about her life and career and where the band is headed from here.
The Hound Kings are the San Francisco Bay Area’s newest acoustic blues trio. With Michael A. Benjamin aka. Alabama Mike on vocals, Anthony Paulie on guitar and Scot Brenton on harp, the three released the album, Unleashed last year and it was nominated for a Blues Music Award in the Best Acoustic Album category.
I will speak with all three about how they came together and where they are heading.

Singer/songwriter, Rett Smith, was born in West Texas and raised in the mountains of New Mexico. His early influences range from classic rock and country, including outlaw staples such as Johnny Cash and Waylon Jennings. After settling down in Los Angeles to focus on his music, Rett played sold out shows across the city. His first album, One to Blame, is now being produced by 9-time Grammy Winner Joe Nicolo, known for his work with The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Cypress Hill, The Fugees, Lauryn Hill. "I Swear" is the first single from the upcoming album. We talk with him at the top of teh hour about the new album and what it is like to work with Nicolo.
Los Angeles singer-songwriter Jessie Payo, known for her brilliant vocal and poetic songwriting, spent the year crisscrossing the country supporting her new single “She Will Love Again” while she opened and performed with The Jason Mraz, Eric Hutchinson, Lauryn Hill, and Melissa Etheridge. Her new EP Down The Mountain,produced by Aben Eubanks in Nashville,was released on September 17, 2013. Her music has appeared on MTV’s hit series’ “The Hills”, “The City”, “My Super Sweet Sixteen”, ABC’s “Make it or Break it”, FOX’s “So You Think You Can Dance”, CBS’s “Criminal Minds”, and E!’s “The Daily Ten.” She opens next week at the Hotel Cafe in Hollywood and we talk to her Friday about the show, her career and the new album..
Forrest McDonald was seven years old when he first heard blues man Josh White perform and as he puts it, “I was hooked!”
In the summer of 1964 he hitchhiked to NYC where he met and was influenced by Muddy Waters.
From there, it just kept happening for Forrest and now, he has released his 12th album “Turnaround Blues” and he will join me to talk more about this incredible journey.
David Vest is called a fabulous, foot-stompin’ roots-rocker and boogie-woogie piano player.
He has played with Big Joe Turner and Hubert Sumlin to name two and he wrote the first songs recorded by Tammy Wynette
His new album is entitled “Roadhouse Revelation” and we will talk about the road he has traveled including winning a Maple Blues Award
Anthony Rosano and The Conqueroos are out of Norfolk, VA and have made it to the semi-finals of the International Blues Challenge twice since forming in 2012.
Their new album “Get Rood” debuted earlier this summer and I will talk with Anthony about his career up until this point and where he is heading.

After a week of travel as a Tortured Soul, being MC at the Tall City Blues Fest and just having a qwonderful time, we get back to business with another episode of Music On The Couch.
Alastair Greene formed his first blues rock trio back in 1997 and over the years it has included alumni of the Steve Miller Band, Paul Butterfield Band and Junior Wells Band..and that is saying a lot!
The new album is entitled Trouble At Your Door and Alastair will be joining me to talk about his journey and the new music.
While I was at Tall City, Chejimi Patricola was at the PA Blues Fest...we will discuss both festivals and what is coming up for Jimi in the coming month.
Alexis P Suter is coming to The Couch for the first time and we are lucky to have her appear the night before her new album, Love The Way You Roll drops.

Then a chance visit to a Guitar Center one afternoon became the starting point of a journey that named him the 4th Annual Guitar Center King Of The Blues.
His debut album is called Out Of The Blue and was produced by mutli-Grammy Award winning producer Pete Anderson.
Mike Zito has been playing guitar since the age of 5 and had his debut on Eclecto Groove Records.
Since then he has earned a 2010 Blues Music Award for Song Of The Year (Pearl River with Cyril Neville) and was nominated in 2011 for Best Rock Blues Album (Greyhound).
he is one of the founders of Royal Southern Brotherhood and has just released his lated Gone To Texas.
I will sit with Mike and explore this fasinating career.

and Stevie Ray Vaughan, he does not sound like any of his predecessors and has long had his own distinctive voice. Bob Eike grew up in Texas and is a self-taught guitar player. Throughout his youth, he had a passion for the Blues and Americana music. His musical talents gained him recognition by ‘Guitar Player’ magazine, featuring him as “an undiscovered great.” After moving to Chicago, he discontinued recording and performing live...until now. Bob just released "happy little songs about futility and despair," and he will join me to talk about his journey and the new album.
Carolyn Fe was born in Quezon City, Philippines. She has been a professional contemporary dancer, an actor and, of course, a singer. Her band is called Carolyn Fe Blues Collective and they have been recognized with nominations for their work over the years and were the winners of the 2012 Quebec's Lys Blues Best Blues & Associated Styles Album for Original Sin. Their latest album is entitled Taboo. Carolyn will join me to talk about her incredible career and the new music.
