De-stigmatizing, De-mystifying Understanding our Bisexual community

    in Lifestyle

Just what is bisexuality? Perhaps the least understood members of the LGBTQ community are our bisexual sisters and brothers. Is it merely a romantic attraction, sexual attraction or sexual behavior toward both males and females? Does it also encompass romantic or sexual attraction to people of any gender identity or to a person irrespective of that person's biological sex or gender? What’s the difference between pansexuality and being polyamourous?  President of BiNet USA Faith will talk about  and not only define the “B” in LGBTQ but also dispel many of the myths and discrimination faced by the bisexual community. As President of BiNet USA, Faith Cheltenham helps coordinate bisexual advocacy, outreach and networking efforts for the bisexual, pansexual and fluid communities in America.  It is the oldest national bisexuality organization in the United States. Are you bisexual? Do you feel misunderstood, excluded and even discriminated against by members of the GAY community?  Do you want your voice to be heard?

    Bisexuality and Consensual Non-Monogamy

    in Relationships

“Long term monogamy with a partner of either sex tends to destabilize bisexual identity narratives” - Eadie (1996).

Bisexuality has an interesting place in society. Bisexual individuals get a lot of pressure to live heterosexual lives or homosexual lives, both groups not valuing the bisexual (or queer for that matter) identity. Individuals in the consensual non-monogamous world often see themselves as more accepting of diverse individuals. However, is this true? Is being bisexual in the consensual non-monogamous community "accepted" Join Dr. T and Devin Kent as they discuss bisexuality and the consensual non-monogamous world.

Same Sex Marriage Celebrating LGBT Marriage for All with KM Davis

    in Current Events

Join Cultural Conversations with an intimate interview with KM Davis, Founder of Davis Law & Associates.  Davis is a returned special guest to Cultural Conversations and will enlighten and engage on the subject of the Supereme Court ruling making same sex marriage legal in 50 state, the path to marriage equality and her personal journey in the Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender (LGBT) community.

KM Davis is founder of Davis Law & Associates. She discovered her passion for helping business owners far before she realized her own entrepreneurial leanings. However, upon realizing her dual interest (and the need to now “practice what she preached”) Davis’s interest in business law matters has only deepened. The ability to understand the needs of business owners and their families allows Davis to consider aspects of client issues that sometimes even they haven’t realized, and creates a relationship beyond attorney/client…for most clients Davis serves a more comprehensive business advisor role.

LGBT, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Homosexual Catholic Teaching

    in Spirituality

    Catholic Church’s teaching on homosexuality.
May we begin by sharing that we at Forming Faithful Families are SINNNERS.
As SINNERS, we often fail, and turn with confidence to our always Merciful Lord, Jesus. Jesus came not to call and save the righteous, but sinners.
“And indeed I did not come to call the virtuous, but sinners.” (Matthew 9:13)
We have noticed that there has been ever increasing and widespread confusion and controversy in society over the matter of homosexuality popularly referred to as LGBT, meaning lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender. What we intend to do in this program is to share the teachings of the Holy Catholic Church on this subject by simply reading verbatim the text from the Catechism of the Catholic Church regarding Chastity and homosexuality, while avoiding any commentary since the teaching in the text itself is lucid, succinct, and thorough.
We would like to say to you our listener, no matter who you are or what you believe, I love you, the Church loves you, and our Heavenly Father in heaven especially loves you. As a matter of fact He loves you infinitely as if you were the only person He ever created. He sent His son, Jesus to die for you on the Cross for your salvation.?
May we say that all of the Catholic Church’s teachings are really a love letter from God, a loving ideal and guide to live by so we can be happy both here on earth and in eternity with the One Who is Love, Jesus, our Lord. The Catholic Church’s teachings are not an imposition, but a profound gift from God offered out of His astounding love for you.

Gay Lives Matter - Major Issues facing LGTBQ people at home and abroad.

    in Spirituality

On June 28, 1969  a police raid of the Stonewall Inn (a gay club located on New York City’s Christopher Street ) led to a riot followed by several days of demonstrations in New York and was the impetus for the formation of the Gay Liberation Front as well as other gay, lesbian, and bisexual civil rights organizations.  It's almost 50 years later and we've come a long way it terms of gay rights, but the fight is not over.  While America and other European nations are embracing the gay population, sadly in many countries around the world this is not the case.  In 37 of 53 countries in Africa same-sex relationships are illegal.  In Sudan, Nigeria, Somalia, and Mauriatania homosexual relations may even be punishable by death.   Russia also has been in the news lately taking many legal actions under the regional anti-LGBT propaganda laws. What can we do to help our gay brothers and sisters?

In this episode we will explore some of the major issues facing the LGBT population, including:

    The evolution of Gay Rights
    Gay marriage
    Violence and Bullying
    Anti-gay laws world wide.
    Donating blood
    HIV / AIDS
Suicide and Homelessness (particularly in youth)
    Adoption and Parenting

I hope you will call in to this episode and share your thoughts and opinions about what we can do to heal, and if you have any othe issues you would like to discuss please do so.
