It seems like people wouldn't be so racist, narrow minded and shallow when it comes to races and nationalities in these days and times. Why doesn't some people WANT to UNDERSTAND no one have the option to "chose" his or her nationality[-ies] nor race. We are born how we are borne in the races and/or nationalities given to us in our DNA, bloodline and genes. Many people are insulted for being bi-racial or mixed especially if they are mixed with African / Black African-American. Join us if you are mixed or bi-racial to share any of your experiences of discrimination or just to give us your opinion about this ongoing matter.

Xavier White grew up listening to his grandfather playing the drums and his mother playing the best of R. Kelly and Usher. Interestingly his focus in his younger years was not of R&B, but of punk rock. Being bi-racial, with a Scottish father and an African American mother, he had the best of both worlds. His favorite punk rock bands consisted of Green Day, Simple Plan, and Linkin Park.Confused in his younger years, he chose to write music to anything he found suitable for his tempo of music. Around the age of 16, Xavier contended in his high school talent show and sang one of his favorite songs at the time, “So Sick” by Ne-Yo. Placing in 2nd place gave Xavier an idea of what he needed to improve on in the future. Being a fast learner, he promised himself he will win 1st place in the talent show before graduating high school. In Xavier’s senior year, he won 1st place singing and showcasing his powerful vocals with "My Girl" by The Temptations. Xavier released his first EP at the age of 23 called “Our Last Memories.” Between his high school career and his current projects, Xavier has utilized the time to focus on crafting his voice and lyrics. He is currently hitting main stream media and plans on winning a Grammy award in the near future. Currently, his single “New York Times” is garnering major attention from fans and media alike. Xavier’s new EP, Cancer Vs. Gemini, is currently in the works of being released over the summer.

Welcome to our Afronerd Radio's Mid Week in Review podcast airing this Wednesday at 7:30pm EST! Listen to Capt. Kirk and Dburt unravel this (mid) week's topical concerns: Nightly Show host and comedian, Larry Wilmore drops the n-bomb right on POTUS' forehead during last week's White House Correspondent's Dinner; yet another reminder that 2016 is just a proxy for 1950-an Old Navy depicting a multi-racial family elicits jeers from the racist contingent in cyberspace; a recent Atlanta Black Star piece discusses India long time color as culture based caste sytem which has historically ostracized dark skinned Dalits; Dburt higlights a runner/health enthusiast who is coincidentally a centurian; astronomers discover at least 3 planets that may be able to sustain human life that are approx. 40 light years away; and while we are talking about space, a new study posits that perhaps Earth just exists in the context of ancient extraterrestrial life (i.e. space civilizations long past extinct ); some in cyberspace went racial when it was announced that presidential daughter, Malia Obama was accepted to Harvard U and lastly, Dburt discovers a new hastag campaign-#KEEPIRISBLACK-which is a viral attempt at carrying over The Flash's Black TV characterization of Iris West to the forthcoming film. Melissa Harris-Perry initially boycotted her own show on MSNBC over what she deemed as mistreatment. She thought that it was ironic that her show was always preempted for presidential coverage, but preemption never occurred with her white counterparts. (She later denied that her boycott was over racial reasons.)
Today, she's being replaced by another black woman. A black woman who essentially came up on MHP's show. Her name is Joy Reid. Is Joy wrong for taking "her mentor's" spot despite her mentor allegedly leaving for discriminatory reasons? Did she "Hollywood Shuffle" Melissa Harris-Perry?
Starbucks is being sued for their iced coffee. A customer says that there's too much ice in the cup and it's cheating the customers to the tune of a $5 million dollars. Legit or just another stupid money grab?
And do minority-owned businesses make more money if it's kept secret that they're minority-owned?
All of this and more on the Talk 2 Q Radio Show! "No experts. Just opinions."
